The too-fresh recollection of having something good taken away still stung. Rojand stalked through the jagged rocks, hunting for something to take his frustration out on. When he found a lock-thing clunking across the stone, he went for it, smacking it across the back with his staff with a hiss of displaced anger. Iron, too, was feeling lean and dangerous, and the blue light hanging from his neck seemed to shine more brightly.
He aimed both sets of guns at the block-headed fog creature, but the damn thing scurried out of the line of fire.
That guy again.
"Guess they were just fog creatures in the end, huh?" he asked. "Left colored things behind, same as the others. They've been getting bigger, is all."

The conversation had just been put on hold in between encounters, really. That seemed ... familiar. "They had weapons," Rojand pointed out. "These things don't." He didn't disagree, per se, but he felt a need to argue anyway. He nodded greeting to the others who'd materialized out of the rocks to help with the creature. He didn't know them, and they didn't strike that faint chord in him the way some others seemed to. Iron nudged the side of the lock's head with his gun.
"This one's got, you know, this sticking out part."
It scrabbled at him furiously.
"They just leveled up, is all," he challenged casually, and squeezed the trigger, sending the lock momentarily backwards.
