The park was disgusting this time of year. So many children trying to make a last stand before school horded them away, jocks throwing frisbees and trying to impress young ladies that had no true idea what they wanted. Pet parents and their yappy little mutts running around, leaving their 'presents' just lying around for someone else to take care of, all the while oblivious to the dangers lurking around them.

Captain Mica hated the park at this time of year, but even she knew it was prime hunting grounds. Energy and starseeds would need to be gathered, and it was easy pickings at the park. She'd overcome her disgust for a little while so that she could do her duty, so long as it remained in her favor.

Of course, coming to such an open place meant that there was a higher chance of coming across the enemy, and she welcomed that too. Her orders were clear, and her pockets were much too light for her taste. She needed more starseeds, and a Senshi's or Knight's starseed would do quite nicely.

So, she leaned against a tree, weapon at her side, and just stood there, observing the park and debating to herself which of the many targets she could engage. All the while, making herself a target... 'Come now, Senshi... do not disappoint me.'

Chibi Goretti was not one to disappoint—when he could help it. Tonight, like many other children, he was trying to enjoy the last little bit of summer he had. He had powered up just for the occasion—and perhaps to make some new friends.

He was naïve—still learning about the whole powered side of life. Had he known what he was running towards, he might have avoided the captain at all costs instead of charging straight towards her.

She had felt different of course, but he knew very little in the way of energy signatures. To him, she was just another friend waiting to be met. It took a while to actually reach her; Goretti was still worried about someone spotting and identifying him so he'd been quite focused on staying hidden—until he saw her.

The boy skidded to a stop very near to her and tilted his head, taking in her appearance before sheepishly closing in. "…What are you doing over there? Aren't you worried about somebody seeing you?" he asked, eyes drifting from her outfit to the weapon she possessed.

It was most unlike Caelian's weapon—and looked like it could do some real damage. He didn't want to seem rude though, so he tore his eyes away from the spear and looked up at the Captain, smiling quickly.

The aura she felt tingling in the back of her skull told her that her wish would soon be granted, and she was eager to a little blood on her amber crystal this evening. Part of her wanted to simply hold out her spear and stab at the intruder when he or she came within reach, and yet she refrained, if only to get a better look at her opponent.

They felt different, and her curiosity peaked when the Senshi was right upon her. She looked towards the source of the aura and then strained her neck downwards to finally see him, and immediately, her smile flattened into an unamused expression.

"Oh, just my luck, a Chibi," Mica said, doing nothing to hide the disdain from her voice. This one was peculiar, though. He was either extremely brave to just address her so casually, without a single shred of fear in his face, or extremely stupid. She refused to believe the latter- such stupidity didn't exist in the White Moon Court, did it?

Nevertheless, she wasn't going to turn down a fight, and though he was naught but a child, he was an enemy to the Negaverse, and she had orders to follow. "Tell me, little one... did anyone even educate you on who your enemy is in this war? Do you have any idea what I am?"

She held her spear at the ready, approaching him without hesitation and caring little about who saw either of them...

Educate on the enemy?

…He was kind of hoping the youma were the worst sort of enemy he was ever going to run into. Nasty, gross creatures that lurked in the night. He didn't think there were real people out there that he had to fight—and if there were, he'd been certain that they would have been as hideous and out of place as the youma were.

Goretti was not a foolish boy, despite how naiive he sometimes came across, and his suspicious were immediately activated when she started asking about how much he knew. Unless she was just some special knight who wanted to make sure he wasn't getting into much trouble.

The chibi rocked on his heels just slightly, willing his uncertainty to fade just a bit. He stayed alert and ready to move at an instant, though wasn't about to miss an educational opportunity if someone was offering. "Uhm. Pretty?" he offered, defaulting to a compliment when her wasn't quite sure what else to say.

If she was his enemy, hopefully he could complement her enough that she wanted to be friends.

Hopefully.

His compliment almost took her off guard, and it showed when her turquoise eyes grew wide for a brief moment before catching herself, and her smile was forced. It wasn't as though he were the first to call her such a thing, and while she didn't mind the occasional compliment every now and then, she wasn't quite sure she liked it coming out of the enemy's mouth, and said enemy being so young.

"You're real sweet, but I'm afraid that won't save you," Mica said, readying her spear and making it very clear what her intention would be. Part of her wanted to feel ashamed that she'd be attacking and killing a child, but he had made his decision, albeit a very poor one. She felt more disgust in her enemy for recruiting children into their war than in herself for fighting him, and if anything, that fueled her resolve once more.

"I'm a Negaverse officer, your sworn enemy. And now you're going to die." Mica tightened her grip on her spear and lashed out, aiming for his chest and hoping to make it a quick battle. She may have found disgust in fighting a child soldier, but that didn't mean she wanted to make the poor thing suffer anymore than he had to. "You can either fight me, or run!"

Which was more of an option than she gave most of her opponents. He should consider himself lucky...

Options were a good thing—especially considering how little Orin wanted to die. He was against even wanting to be hurt. But running? Running, he could do. Running, he was good at.

While he was curious about her weapon, he had an aversion to anything sharp and pointy when in the hands of someone who had declared him an enemy and the chibi senshi hastily took a few steps back. "Wait, I'm pretty sure you aren't my sworn enemy. And I know if we tried hard enough we could probably be friends."

…Though, he wasn't quite sure his father would approve of him being friends with anyone playing with weapons. Or anyone who had ever threatened him. "But I mean, if you really don't want to be I don't have a problem running away!" he looked over his shoulder for the briefest second, plotting an escape route. He was hoping that the Captain would change her mind or start laughing about how he was so silly for falling for her threat…buts he sounded pretty serious.

He took another few hesitant steps backwards; he just wasn't comfortable with the tip of that spear so close. If she wasn't careful with that thing, she was going to poke out an eye!

…Or worse.

"You're pathetically adorable… makes me wish I could find a way to lure you over so that I wouldn't have to hurt you," Mica said, openly admitting this though it was very, very obvious that she was only teasing the poor kid. While it disgusted her on some level that she would have to hurt and maim a child to get her job done, the child simply made the wrong decision. The battlefield was no place for the youth, and considering just how clueless this one was, she'd continue to believe in that notion. "But no dice, little one. I tend not to make friends with the White Moon Court, even the precious little ones they send out as fodder."

It wasn't as though she was going to take immense pleasure in killing him, at least not if he were several years older, but she had a job to follow, and she would not question the new orders of the Negaverse. Take all the energy and starseeds they needed, especially if it came from the enemy. Wolframite wanted them to spare the knights, but this little one was no knight. Therefor, free game. But still, beyond the uniform and glamor, this was still a child, and curse her bleeding heart. She had to at least give him a chance, right?

"I'll give you to the count of ten to leave, then. If you're not gone by that count, then you're dead." She kept her spear at her side, and to make due with that promise, she actually turned her back to him. It wasn't like her to play this game. That was more of Buddingtonite's style, but she couldn't deny that he seemed to have fun with it. If she wasn't going to get any other kind of enjoyment this evening, she might as well give it a go here. "One… two…"

It didn't take Goretti too long to decide if he wanted to live or not, but he still felt like he hadn't really accomplished anything. He looked up at the woman, lips pursed, and then threw his hands up. "Okay, okay! I get it, I'll leave! Stop counting! 'Cept I don't know why it's gotta be either fight or run since I bet you've got some pretty neat stories to tell, but I can take a hint."

She was the bad guy. Except, she wasn't so bad. She hadn't attacked, and made it very clear that he was intruding on her territory and that was the only reason she was hostile. Well, basically.

For being a bad guy she seemed pretty tame; he wasn't sure if he was going to get anyone to stop being a bad guy if he couldn't even engage them in conversation, but he was totally fine with running if it meant he could live to fight another day.

"Well," he turned away from her, eye on the spear, "I hope we can meet again another time when you're not so grouchy. Bye!"

He waved swiftly and then promptly bolted; he knew he had wasted a fair bit of time internally debating and running his mouth, but with his speed? He could be far away in no time.

She hadn't even gotten to three before the Chibi senshi was proclaiming defeat, and Mica turned around to glare at him, the disgust and disbelief evident in her eyes, despite her best effort to keep herself calm and poised. The nerve of this little one to simply cut her off. It certainly dug under her skin, but she had acknowledged the wisdom in the Senshi's decision. After all, it wasn't often that a Senshi chose to flee and most would have foolishly lingered around to fight. But not this one. This little one was smart.

Which only made him more dangerous in her eyes. Meaning she had to be rid of him before he honed his powers and became an even bigger threat to them. She ignored all of his words and reeled back her spear, giving a shout to catch his attention and bolted away. "Ten!"

She took a swing, but missed. Not sure to an error on her part, but because the Chibi Senshi had fled, and at the best possible time too as she hit nothing but air. She caught herself before she toppled over from the force of the swing and watched him flee, and a part of her wanted to give chase. Fast as he may be, she had longer strides, and the benefit of teleportation was ever present in her mind, but she chose not to pursuit. She brought the weapon back to her side, and she called out to the fleeing youth. "If I ever see you again, I will kill you."

And Mica meant every word of it.

Fine. If that last swing was enough to count for a battle, cool, if not, then I can change this to a reg. c;
