She was on her own for the moment, though by choice. Never by choice. Distractedly she wondered where the Amity disappeared to when he wasn't with her, but for some reason she'd never asked him. Now she wished she had. Swirling thoughts were enough to distracted her from the approach of something quite and creeping, and she didn't realize it was on top of her until it's shadow fell across her path. She turned, it slashed at her, and she got off a decent hack at it with the short ax torn from her hip before the blow knocked her back a few steps. "Oh this is just great." Vane noticed the monster before he registered the other people beating up on it, but was pleasantly surprised to realize that one of them was Shaw and the other was some girl he had hit stuff with before. She Wong her ax, hacking at a melting chunk of something as it got to close, then backed up a few steps. "Yeah, it's nice to see same familiar faces, all things considered." She didn't mind the battling, not really. That also felt comforting, though she wasn't sure why. Another familiar face showed up, and she offered him a nod in greeting. "Well, nice t' see familiar faces when they ain't those guys," he remarked, gesturing with his weapon at the creature - and then someone familiar came and slugged the hell out of it. "Vane, I see you ain't lost your touch," Shaw teased. "Strangers is welcome," he added, nodding at the two figures he didn't recognize. He smacked the beast with his staff again.
