It roared. A bone chilling roar that made Ralifa's blood run cold. She couldn't move for a breath which was a folly for her as the beast's tail whipped around to knock her to the floor. Her body stung as it skid along the cold hard ground, but she was not going to fall here. Pushing herself up, she leaned heavily on her spear to catch her breath. The beast thrashed, smacking the walls of the cave as it roared. Her eyes narrowed as she spun her spear around before striking a pose. Why had she done that? No matter. She gave a full out charge, thrusting her spear and smacking the beast over and over again with the blunt end. Dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge. She did all of that and more, running circles around the cave to avoid some of the creature's attacks. Ralifa stabbed it in the snout. She slipped. The world seemed to slow as Ralifa fell backwards on to her back. Her spear clattered against the floor as she lost her grip on it. Her head was ringing. It was upon her now, the vibrations in the ground were heavier as it drew close. She had shut her eyes, her left hand grasping around for her spear. Just as it seemed to be right on top of her she found it. Lifting the tip of her spear up and pushing with what strength she had upwards, leaning hard. The tip pierced the skin but it was no significant damage as the beast reeled back, dislodging her weapon. Wiping the sweat from her brow, Ralifa charged once more. Stabbing and jabbing, barely grazing the monster's skin this time. She slammed into one of the cave walls, whirling around just in time to block a razor sharp claw that was aimed for her throat. With her back still up against the wall, she pummeled the creature with the blunt end of her spear. Over and over again. But she didn't see that second claw until it was too late. The agonizing pain of ripping flesh rolling through her. It buried deep in her stomach. And she was gone. Skewered. And then she was alive once more. It took Ralifa a second to realize what was going on. Barely missing the creatures attack, she stabbed it in the leg. Little by little, she would chip away at this thing. But what if the next time she died she wouldn't come back like the last time? She would have to make sure she defeated this beast soon. It gave her a little bit of motivation. A twirl of her staff, a flourish here and there. She spun out of the way of the monster's attacks, mostly. Its not like she went unscathed. Something in the back of her mind rang true as she threw her spear as hard as she could. It grazed off the beast's belly and clattered to the ground. Quickly she bounded over to her fallen spear. Lets try this again. As she turned around, she pulled her arm back and slung the spear as hard as she could. It stick, grey began to leak from the beast as a small smirk came to her lips.
