She wished Dyakida could see her... Hopefully at least Maya was there watching. They hadn't really spoken since the whole tree incident, but still. She had grown up with Maya, and she wanted to make the other proud just as much as the sisters she still lived with. Looking at her opponent she was slightly confused. A shield? She had fought someone with one of those. This would be interesting.

Chalcedony
HP: 29/29
Chalcedony took in the one before him that he was battling before he took in a deep breath. It was a little intimidating to say the least, that his first round opponent would be Alkidike. There was bad blood between their tribes but he wouldn't allow such a thing to sway him in battle, not when this was just a tournament, a game of sort for testing one's skills. Not to mention he couldn't allow himself to lose his cool when his sons were in the audience. He glanced off to one side, spotting the little younglings were they sat, before he turned to face his opponent once more. He'd do his best for them and to test himself, it had been a while since his last battle after all and he'd hate to think he was getting rusty.

Chalcedony attacks Briella.

Chalcedony needs a 14 to hit.
Rolled: 10 (+6) = 16, hits
dmg: 9 + 6 = 15/2 = 7.5
Chalcedony shifted his heavy shield from where it was resting up in front of him, prepared himself by giving his opponent a quick once over, and then he was moving forward towards her. He wasn't the fastest of people, his skills were more the slow and steady sort, but when he saw what he hoped to be an opening he was ready for it, throwing his weight into his shield and his shield into the warrior woman before him. He would do his best to see the battle ended without blood, at least on his side, not wanting to cause an incident by sheer accident alone.

Okay so not thinking the shield would hurt was her first bad idea, and the dodge she attempted had been her second so far. She could already feel the bruise where his spear had hit her and it hurt! Birella gritted her teeth before rushing at him with her swords, she would show him what real weapons could do!

Chalcedony Dodges.
16 + 3 = 19, dodges completely and retaliates.
16 + 6 = 22/5 = 4.4dmg
Chalcedony felt himself collide with the girl before him before he pushed off her, going backwards, landing fairly gracefully with one who wielded a weapon as heavy as his before lifting he slid to one side, barely avoiding her attack. He could all but feel and hear the power behind it, the way it cut through the air, and he was never happier that he was able to get himself out of the way of an attack before. He gave a bit of a smile before he moved once more, to bring his shield up in front of himself and once more used it, and himself, as a living battering ram.

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HER! Briella was so good when she fought her sisters, why not him? Was his shield really better then her swords? Again she went to attack him and missed, and to make matters worse when he attacked her the shield left it's mark. She smiled at him, but she had a bad feeling that this battle wouldn't go in her favor.

Chalcedony is gong to use special attack Bone Splitter
Bone splitter can only be used once every three turns.
Keilana gets a +3 to dmg only and a chance to stun.
Chalcedony needs a 14 to hit.
Rolled: 1 (+6) = 7, misses, hits himself spectacularly though! ROFLMAO
dmg: 20 + 6 + 3 = 29/4 = 7.25 to himself. *facepalms* Special Moves are not good for Chal it seems.
As he shifted himself, moving forward to use a move called 'Bone Spliter' that he had been learning from his father Bomani Chal felt his foot catch on some loose sand in the ring, causing him to stumble and land hard on one knee. He gave a bit of a hiss, feeling pain tear through his leg as it twisted wrong. Wincing he lifted his shield up to defend himself with one hand, the other rubbing at his throbbing knee, checking it quickly for possible damage. It felt alright... he didn't think anything had broken or torn, but he was certainly going to see a Healer after this match was done with just to make sure.

Wait, was this the change of tide? She wasn't happy that he hurt himself, but hopefully now he would be too distracted to attack her again with the massive shield. Trying to not to give him time to recuperate she rushed towards him with her blades once again.

The next blows that came his way were ones that landed well, leaving that many more stinging areas on his body, but he wasn't about to give up just yet. He'd fight his battle through to the end, not wanting to lose given he had a lot of people watching him. Giving a grunt Chalcedony pushed himself up to his feet, shifted in place, checking his knee to make sure it would hold his weight, before he moved forward to try another attack against the girl before him. Best that he keep moving, if he slowed down he was sure his knee would stiffen up and that wasn't something that he wanted, knowing full well that it would drag him down.
