Aminah pushed her hair around, standing quite nervously in the ring. She hadn't met her opponent before this, though that was to be expected when everyone here was from everywhere.
The match was about to start and with all of these eyes looking down at her, she was feeling a little camera shy. She gulped hard. "Good luck." She called out to her opponent.

Oulixes wasn't sure how he'd gotten himself talked into this, being out in public wasn't really his thing. He'd much rather just stay in the shadows and be left alone, it was how he preferred it due to his phobia of people. Yet here he was... standing across from a female, weapons in hand, preparing for a battle. It wasn't to the death, he didn't even really feel any desire to hurt the chick, all he knew was that there were prizes to be had, as well as glory. If he were to do well in this perhaps he would start to feel a bit better about who and what he was.
As the girl with the white hair called out to him, wishing him luck of all things, he merely starred back at her. It wasn't as though he was meaning to be rude or intimidating he just had no idea what to say in return. Was she being honest in her words? Was it a challenge? He really had no clue... all he knew was it was best to try to strike now, whilst she was unprepared...

Oulixes drew in a deep breath, his hands tightening on the weapons that he was holding, and his focus was turned completely to the young woman in front of him. She was a magic wielder if her weapon was any indication, meaning that he really wanted to be careful, really didn't want to get hit by any of that hocus-pocus. As such he meant to do his best to try to strike quickly, which the iron was hot, and if he was lucky he would try to dodge the spells. He'd only ever dealt with one other mage before in his time and that was one time too many if you asked him.
Planting one foot against the ground the swordsman lunged forward, swinging his weapons toward the white haired girl, trying to strike at her with the flats of them. While he wanted to win he had zero interest in killing her or really even harming her all that much if he could help it. He wanted to win a tournament, not leave someone as scarred up as Oulixes himself was.

Aminah's smile faltered at her opponent's somber reaction to her comment. Well, she guessed some just took the competition a little more seriously than others. She was surprised and taken aback at Oulixes' attack. She jumped to the side, but couldn't find the purchase she needed.
The blade struck her thigh with a sharp thud and sent a pang of nerves up her body. Ouch, that was rough. Aminah had to counter if she was going to stay in the game for long. She tried to send the earth moving beneath his feet, but it was no good. She hit the ground before she could complete her spell and it was a pathetic gurgle beneath the ground. She rolled and got back up, waiting for the next move.

Oulixes lifted his weapons as the girl prepared her spell, readying himself for the explosion of magic like what he'd dealt with last times. The ground rumbled for a moment as though it was about to do something... before the spell seemed to fizzle out. He blinked a couple times, looked confused, then found himself wondering if it were some sort of tactic. Was the girl trying to confuse him first then use some sort of massive spell against him?! It was possible, it could all be to throw him off guard... as such he knew he needed to try to take her down as quickly as possible before she used that plan against him!
With this in mind the swordsman was once more moving toward her, even more swiftly this time, swing at the arm that was holding the magic staff. He had no idea if that was where the magic came from or if it was just a focus for it, either way it was probably best that he try to throw her off by hitting her weapon arm.

Oh wow! This guy was fast. Aminah just couldn't seem to do anything right at this point. And wow was he strong. She couldn't imagine him not having trained a long time to get this strength.
She tried to dodge another attack, but the earlier blow had her leg cramping up. The attack landed full force and she could feel her eyes tear up. The attack was painful. She jumped back once more, trying to get some distance between her and those swords and launched a water attack his way. It wasn't much, but she needed something to get on solid ground here.

The next attack that came from the girl was one that seemed to be water based, Oulixes sized it up, looked it over, and then just went racing forward, through the spell which stung a little and took another swing at her. He was going to continue to push the attack as hard as he could, not wanting to relent against the magic slinging girl. If anything he would just continue to fight, something that he was rather good at. It was nothing against her, he didn't know her so it wasn't as though he didn't like her, he was just wanting to press the advantage while he could...

Aminah was taking a beating out here. If she was going to do anything in this battle and get herself together, she needed to make a drastic move.
As Oulixes swung back towards her with his blades, Aminah charged up her attack. She let the blades hit her, taking the brunt of the damage and releasing her electric charge simultaneously. This had to work. Aminah had to get some form of offensive in the battle or else things would go south too quickly or her liking.

17 + 7 = 24/5 = 4.8
The crackling sound of the girl's attack was a rather startling sound, one that had him wondering exactly how many elements a mage could master. Thus far she'd used Earth and Water against him, now Lightning, it would probably be impressive if not for the fact that she was using those powers against him. Not to mention that magic and the way it worked was utterly lost on him, as such he just saw it as frightening and dangerous.
Oulixes threw himself into a slide, limboing far back, to the point he was nearly bent over backwards, before he came up, whirled around, and struck out at the magical girl once more with the flats of his blades.

Aminah gritted her teeth and used all of her strength to dodge this next attack. She wasn't going to be able to take much more of this and she needed to do whatever she could to stop him from hitting her again. She could already feel all of the wonderful bruises that would be covering her body after this and it was starting to wear her out.
She managed to avoid all of the attack and launched another water attack in the process. She hoped it would hit, and maybe, if she could keep chipping away at him, she could win this thing.

This time around when her water magic was used it wasn't as easy to just take the shot and continue onwards. Instead it seemed to stagger him, causing the swordsman to completely miss with his next attack. It wasn't something that sat well with him but he shook the water off and prepared for the next attack, wanting to try to make up for such a terrible round by doing better next time.
