A heart...? that was an odd request. but strangely, it felt as though it weren't as bad as it sounded. With the way the goddess had worded her mission, it seemed as though it weren't going to be any different than picking it up and taking it to bring back. He didn't question the quest, having a good sense to follow instructions. Clutching the items required that'd been handed over to him, Venes headed through the sliver of light.
Looking upon the varied doors, he let his gaze flicker between them all, and frowned lightly. All gave off a different aura... but he wasn't quite sure which was the correct one to follow. The first felt too... soft? and the last... too hard. Going in between seemed like a balance of both sides. Perhaps that was the right choice... either way, the second door was the one he chose, curiously eyeing the symbol upon it.

The cheering is surprising, and even has Venes stopping for a second before proceeding forward into the door. Looking around, a brow was arched, before furrowing, ears pinning back. Why... were they all so happy to see him? what was so great about him..? what did they want with him? perhaps they were just making fun of him.. Head ducking a little, he continued on, eyes darting from side to side at the happy figures... before lifting his head curiously as they began to dim, and fade away, the sound stopping all at once.
Well then. That was odd. But he wasn't going to complain. All that attention was very unwanted, and highly uncomfortable. Straightening upright, he pricked his ears as the darkness enveloped around him, stopping only for a second to gather himself, before going forward.
Something firm suddenly is in his path, almost tripping him! Hands jutting out to place onto it, Venes feels along it, gathering its shape.. a box... wood... a crate. The top's open. He's almost hesitant to reach into the unknown, but chastises himself internally for it. Forcing through his uncertainty, he dives a hand in to feel the.. fabric. He pets along it for a good while, getting used to it under his fingers before noticing the light glow. Ah there it was...
He made careful to cut to the heart, but a wave of memory suddenly crashes against his mind, sending him into a trance like state, halting all progress.
A name... from a familiar voice. But whose?
Brux.
A large, massive build, rippling with strong bulging muscles. A sculpted jaw, square and set, furrowed brows, with gleaming bright eyes that could scare anyone into silence.
This... was so familiar...
Tucking the heart into the bag, he slowly backed away from the crate, trying not to delve too much into the strange thoughts that now lingered in his head.

His attempts to make a quick hustle back to the goddess seemed to increase as he started to hear someone calling to him. Even with a glance over his shoulder, he of course couldn't see anything. Picking up his pace, it didn't help... as he was getting slowed by some sort of liquid. Gritting his teeth, he felt panic wanting to seize in his chest, but forced control kept it at bay. He couldn't freak out... that'd just make it worse.
However things were already worse now. There was a powerful hit, and he was under. A breath hadn't even been successfully taken as he was plunged under the water, growling and shouting under it, trying to pry off the hands that held him down. But he was losing it, losing control, and any hopes of escape. The sight of those lifeless eyes would send a chill down his spine.
but his senses were more overwhelmed by the images appearing in his mind. They were so real. But where did they come from..? when had.. these--
a small charm was placed into his hands. A shape that was unique and unlike any other, that'd been carved from a beautiful blue gem. Shifting it around, a booming, voice... gruff, and firm, started up. It sounded awkward, and attempting to stay stern while explaining the item in Venes hand, light blue eyes lifting to stare at the impressive image of his father. A man many feared, and cowered under... who made a name for himself with his sheer force, and demanding presence. Yet to Venes... he didn't feel any of that..

Venes was losing this battle, and fast. But as he felt the heavy weights in his hand as he sunk deeper and deeper, he became more aware of one of them... and how useful they could be. Gripping the scissors tightly, he whipped his arm around to impale as firmly as he could with the metal weapon, right into the creature.
As it shrieked and vanished, he gave the largest gasp of his life when air was able to return to him. Coughing, he rolled onto his side, lying there to gather his breath, before pushing up, and holding the heart close to his own. He wasted no time now... once that light was seen, he rushed right for it. With a glance to that ominous figure, he glared at it, before disappearing himself.
