He felt a bit of curiousness when having faced the goddess. Perhaps it was the air around her... maybe her tone. But he felt... unnerved in some way or another. Having stared into that empty box with confusion, and given the task to fill it himself, Skava was quite puzzled.

but he did as was asked, though continued to mull it over ceaselessly in his mind. Stepping through the crack, his eyes instantly honed in on the three presented doors, as he clutched the box and key to himself. Each door was given the same amount of time to be processed and looked over, pondered, and given consideration. Though the vibe the gave was evident, Skava wasn't swayed or deterred any from it. Fear wasn't something that he often felt. Looking upon the third one, with the splayed branches, and ominous vibe, Skava approached it unflinchingly. He wasn't one to be threatened by challenge.

Before stepping fully inside, taking slower steps at first before adjusting to the strange environment. He felt a bit unsteady, with the clear lack of direction, besides that beating that coaxed him closer. Just what was he going after...? But he trudged on, using only his ability to hear where his goal was as a guide.

Eventually he did find something... Feeling around it gave a sense of the shape, texture and--

what was that?

touching the arm, Skava paused for a moment, before feeling along the rest of it. An arm? Following its path, he was able to realize that.. this must be a body.
Was it still alive? there was that pulsing beat of the heart, so it must be. For a moment, he contemplated the new turn of events.

Who ever this was... was still living... still had a pulse. And he was required to remove it? It didn't seem right.

But the Goddess' words echoed in his mind.

They have no need for it anyway.
She was a goddess, someone to be looked up to, and relied on. So surely her words must be true... Surely..

The sensation of... tearing... pressing, fighting to get to that rapping beat was a struggle, and difficult given the circumstances of not being able to see the actual body itself. What if he punctured the heart accidentally?
But once he reached it, and was poised to release it from the body within, that arm began to dig, claw, pierce into him, making Skava freeze. Especially when his name was spoken.

It was almost like a sudden slap of memory to his mind, a flashback flickering of a boy he knew when he was younger. Sergi. Same age, but with a very different personality. He was bright, outgoing, and spirited, always with laughter in his voice, and light in his eyes. So full of life, happiness... even lacking precautions at times, and daring to push his boundaries of what was allowed and what wasn't.
His best friend...

He stood there, the heart heavy in his palm, the blood oozing and gushing around, coating up to his wrist, dripping.

Surely... that... couldn't have been...
That wasn't..

Why would he think of that now..?

slowly, the heart was tucked away, safely.

Heading to return to the goddess, Skava feels the awkward sensation of being followed...

And then his assumption is confirmed when a voice begins to surface.

Continually glancing over his shoulder for the source, of course unable to see a thing. But it seems that might come to light, as his short stature leaves him suddenly neck up in water, having felt it resisting along his legs his entire time he tried to escape. And suddenly he's under it.

The force of being pressed down into the dark water so abruptly has him tensed up, and flailing to resist and fight back. But it is fruitless. The other is stronger, something new to him, and easily overpowering Skava.
The need to breathe is so terribly painful, and his mind's starting to go blank, and shut down the longer he's under, his struggling ceasing.

Somehow, in the darkness, a pair of eyes are able to be seen. they lack any sort of sign that there is even life behind them. Even so, memories resurface once more.

Sergi often go scolded and in trouble for not doing as was asked of him. He was a wild child, a free spirit, and didn't always take kindly to authority being exercised. There had even been a time when Skava had found him terribly beaten up by older kids when they were still young themselves. Sergi wasn't good at holding his tongue, either... Skava had assisted him in treating the bruises, cuts, and scrapes. Skava would lightly chide him for his foolishness... and only get that cocky grin in response, only making him purse his lips and give a soft sigh.
Sergi always had had that daring, and fearlessness to him. A different kind to Skava's... one he grew to admire and respect.

With all this reminiscing, and remembering of his old friend, who has long since been gone, Skava somehow feels a sense of calmness even in the moments of his barely lasting consciousness. How he missed his dear friend...

But this couldn't be him. It was simply impossible. With the strength he was able to focus and muster, Skava lunged his scissors wielding hand forward to thrust into the creature that was attempting to end his life. The shriek of pain and agony was piercing, but Skava did not flinch as it writhed and disappeared.

Coughing, choking, almost endlessly, he laid there, soaking wet, feeling heavy, and just allowing air to return to him, and gain his bearings. Getting up, sluggishly, he clutches tight to the bag holding the heavy heart, eyes flickering up as light suddenly begins to peel into existence. Staring at it for a long while, he makes the slow trudge towards it, exhausted, and tired, still panting to recover. Those memories flutter around in his mind as he walks, so vivid, so real...
what did they mean? why now? why here? what... was happening?

And in that split moment of stepping into the warm, inviting light, the corner of his eye catches the glimpse of the creature he battled, the image burning into his mind...
