If Theia was a grinning fool before, the fact she now bore a spear likely made it a miracle her face wasn't split in half by how wide her lips curved. As it was, the red-glowing woman was almost purring as she gripped the pole of the bladed weapon.
"This feels much better," had been her simple explanation and jubilant declaration to Andie the moment she stood before him, weapon in hand. She felt better. Now to just see how it'd do against an actual target...
Not that it took them long to stumble upon yet another strange creature. This one creaked and clinked, making her c**k her head at the sounds. "This one's weird... Looks weak." Least their previous opponent looked stronger than this one did.
Shrugging, laughing, she twirled the spear in her hand. "Should be fun!" With that in the air, she barreled forward, slipping under one of it's clawed hands, slicing at one of its legs with her blade... though the darned thing managed to slash her upper arm before she could get away. "Oof... careful. It hits as hard as the other one," came her puffed grumble to her companion.

Andie was grinning as well, Theia's enthusiasm being infectious. He had to admit, her weapon looked a lot better then his simply because his was a fan but he was still content for now. He looked over at their new opponent and gripped his weapon. "Appearances can be deceiving." He warned before jumping in to hit the creature with his weapon. He got a fresh gash on his leg in return. "That I have no doubt. Most of the ones I've faced have been trough." Out of respect for the senior combatant, Theia had kept commentary about her weapon versus his to zero. After all, he'd done a fine job up against that first monster she saw. Even if it was feathery. In her mind, that only showed his aptitude. Never a bad thing!
Just like that, back in the fray. Theia decided, in that moment, she was quite content with such a fighting partner. Even if they did keep getting injuries for their efforts, it was... fun to have banter with someone. She laughed outright. "Appearances don't matter... it's the skill of the user that does, eh?" A wink was flicked Andie's way, though she wasn't sure he'd see it as she tried to slice another of the monster's legs. It seemed to work--it's body flopped for a moment towards that side anyways. Her reward was a solid slam to her side though, sending her back a good few steps before she recovered.
"How many of these things have you seen?" This made two for her... how many more lurked in these catacombs?

Andie would have been very grateful to know that she held back any commentary about his fan had he known and also that she thought highly of his ability with it. As it was the thought of her saying anything about it didn't occur to him. He laughed at her comment and did a kick/hit with fan combo that got him a gash on his hip. "Very true. And this would be my tenth." He said after a quick mental count. "Tenth?!" Her voice was a dismayed squeak. Her mouth hung open, envy brightening her features before she huffed. "I'll just have to work harder to catch up it seems!"
It wasn't like she was at a lack of energy for it...
Gripping her spear, watching as the light of her core danced across the edge of the blade, she let out a whistle of appreciation for how Andie caught the beast off guard, grinning to see it go down so quickly. Even if the guy got caught in the process. Rounding behind the monster, Theia lashed out, drawing a deep gash across it's back that had three of its legs shooting out to knock her solid in the chest. The wind was rocketed out of her lungs, making her crash to her knees as she blinked sparks out of her eyes. But the creature looked ready to topple. She'd cheer on Andie if she had the breath to.

"Yep, tenth." Andie would not tell her how he had lost a couple of those times though. He moved to attack the thing but Theia getting hit distracted him enough that the kick he had aimed was knocked off course by a sharp claw. "You alright?" Hands around the pole of her spear, Theia lifted herself back to her feet bit by bit. Her breath came back, deep inhales to regain herself. She expected Andie to finish the creature that wobbled and hobbled. She expected it. To instead see him aim so off course, and ask her that silly question...
Theia said nothing as she plunged her spear tip into the monster's body, ignoring how it's claws grabbed at her arm and dug in. It sputtered, released her, and fell to the ground soon enough. Tsking, she sent Andie a less than approving look. "Well that was foolish of you... and look, you got hurt extra because of it. Goof." Shaking her head, she spun her spear and rested it over her shoulder. "Well, you're up! What'cha want?"
Their rewards already sat upon the ground waiting.

Andie gave her a sheepish look and shrugged. "Sorry, it was a reflex." Why it was a reflex he had no idea, just that it felt right to check up on a teammate and to worry about them. He walked over and scooped up one of the items and waved his hand over the two remaining. "All yours." He gave her a lopsided grin. "Good job for your second fight."

Theia made a face before it broke into a grinning laugh. "Your reflex should have been to kill our opponent, then check up on me." Why she felt this way, she had no idea, but it offended her. Just as much as she'd offended herself by letting herself show some of her displeasure. No, she put her smile back into place, and felt all the better for it. Even if she was inwardly tsking him still.
Rounding up to the two items, she plucked them from the ground and moved toward Andie. Once in range, she bumped him with her hip. "Beginner's luck~ You win in numbers, so I doubt my luck'll hold much longer."

Andie shook his head with a grin. "I'll keep that in mind for next time." Honestly it was a good idea to follow through after all, provided he didn't have any more reflex moments. He shoulder bumped her back and hooked his weapon on his pants. "Maybe, maybe not. You're a good fighter after all. But come on, we better get going."

Giggling, Theia bobbed her head a few times. He was learning~ Well. As was she, but she was pleased he seemed to take her words seriously. Still, his complement made her puff up in a rather good way. Giving him a warm smile, she laughed, "Mm~ Not as good as you if you can make a feathery fan into a successful weapon. Points given where earned, Andie." Light steps abound--both due to the cracked ground and her own mood, Theia followed without further comment. She'd rather save her energy for their next target!
