As she wandered around the Spire, her ears picked up a peculiar sound. "Hm?" Lectoa turned around and opened her mouth when she noticed the screen. "Oooh~ What's this?" She tried walking toward it and reaching out with a clawed hand, but only got attacked instead. "Ouch! Vane stopped dead in his tracks as he saw another one of those creatures attacking, thankfully, someone that wasn't him. Still reeling from the earlier defeat, he waffled for a moment, torn between wanting to help and never wanting to experience that kind of pain again. With a resigned sigh, he jogged towards it, lashing out with his fist at the monster and wincing at the blow he got in return. If his strike was a little harder than he expected, well, maybe he was experiencing anger for the first time. "Hi," he said to the person the thing was attacking, "you kind of have to hit it back. I know it probably hurts, but just keep at it." Coyote had only just returned from her offering the the shirne when she noticed something more peculiar then everything else that was going on around them. A screen of some sort, though she wasn't sure how she knew that, and it was attack people. Common sense said the mind her own business and not get involved, but she ignored that and charged forward anyways. If she could do something to help, then she sure as hell was going to try! Unfortunately she missed, but effort counted. The beasty casually swatted the small figure away. Shaw kicked it away again. "This one seems weaker than the last." He did not add that Vane sure knew how to pick 'em - he just kind of waggled his eyebrows in a way that heavily implied it. If Nothing else Coyote was tenacious, and she bounced back to her feet, ready to dart in for another go. It was about as successful as the last, and she received a nasty thump in the side for her efforts. The thing went down, and Coyote hopped back a step or two as the screen shattered. "What was it?" Well, obviously a monster, but besides that. There, in the smashed glass, something caught her eye, and she stooped to pick it up. Knowledge of what it was eluded her, but it could be useful, so she was going to hold onto it. Lectoa happily pranced after Coyote, raising one hand as she barked, "Yupyup! I'm alright. But I did good, rightright?" She grinned as she followed the other shadow's lead and scooped up a pair of items. "That was kind of fun! Let's try this again sometime."

"I don't know, but it's not the first time we've run into them," Vane told the small girl, including Shaw in the statement with a tilt of his head. "The one we ran into earlier was a hell of a lot tougher than this, though. We got pretty lucky, all things considered." He noticed something glinting gold in the wreckage left behind by the creature and picked it up.
