Robert sighed as he laid back on his bed, almost becoming engulfed by the large comforter on it. It had been two months since he and Sky had gotten the message of a Tournament being held for the fate of Mew and Mewtwo. They had taken most of that time to get to Johto and Skylynn's house, to speak with the Legendary Pokémon that had saved her from a forest fire in her childhood. During the trip through Sinnoh and on the boat ride to Johto, Robert and Sky had become good friends, learning about one another not through questions or words, but actions. Regardless, the two could not find the Legendary Pokémon before Team Solstice came looking for Robert, transporting the two by helicopter to a strange island. Robert liked it here because of the harsh, snowy conditions. It reminded him of his training at Mt. Silver. Turning to Sky, he asked her through Telepathy, as had become their custom, "What do you think of the weather around here?" As he asked the question, his newest friend, Shimmer the White Riolu, hopped up on the bed next to him, leaning against Robert with a content sound. Robert had found Shimmer in the Dragon's Den while at Skylynn's house, and the two became the best of friends within moments. Patting Shimmer on his head absentmindedly, Robert continued to look at Skylynn, his question hanging in the air.

Only with strength can one endure it's suffering and torment... ══════════════════════════════════════════ Skylynn had been looking around the room and even looked out the window for a while. in these types of conditions, her and Paul would be pushing their pokemon hard in their training. but atleast Sky would take breaks with her pokemon or knew when to quit, hell even some times she would have to force Paul to take breaks, or stop when she thought he was being too hard on his pokemon, -when is he not? lol- hearing Roberts thoughts she turned around and looked over at him and Shimmer. she thought Shimmer was totally adorable when Robert first showed him off after catching him. she shrugged her shoulders before responding back to Robert."reminds me of the training conditions me and my cousin Paul would use to toughen up our pokemon. though a lot of people would think our ways of training aren't right. but to each their own I guess."a flash of light would appear beside Skylynn as Diva her Umbreon jumped out of her pokeball again and then trotted over to Skys bed and jumped up before moveing over to the pillow and laying down. Robert nodded at Sky when she responded, sitting up and then becoming cross legged on his bed. Shimmer smiled brightly and leaped into Robert's lap, snuggling against him. Petting the Riolu, Robert looked at Skylynn again, and the mental note he had given himself those two months ago popped up in his mind. Grinning a bit, he said to her, "So, Sky. We've been travelling around together for a bit, and we've become good friends. But I don't think I've ever heard you talk about yourself." Shimmer looked up at Robert, a quizzical look on his face.”Robert, your heart rate just went up, and your emotions are strange, yet your face is so composed. I’m confused….”Robert grinned at Shimmer’s words. The Riolu reminded him of when he had hatched Lucario’s Egg all those years ago. Neither of them grasped Human emotions so young, and it made Robert happy to train Shimmer. To only the Pokémon in his lap, he whispered through Telepathy, ”I’ve gotten pretty good at hiding emotions from others, Shimmer. Except to special little guys like you!” Robert gave Shimmer a small noogie, causing him to squirm and giggle happily at the praise. Robert then turned his attention back to Skylynn, now smiling a bit more than he wished. It had become apparent to him that he was developing feelings for Sky, but he was afraid of confessing these thoughts and emotions because it might ruin their friendship. It was obvious to him that Sky wasn’t looking for a relationship, seeing as she became extremely angry every time the word ‘boyfriend’ was tossed around. Another reason Robert was afraid was because he wanted to ask Sky if she wanted to join the Aura Guardians, and that meant teaching her how to read emotions through Aura. She would be able to read him like an open book, just as Shimmer did.

Listening to Sky speak of herself in such a way made Robert a little sad. While she talked, Shimmer jumped from one bed to another, landing next to Sky and Diva. Shimmer cocked his head to the side and looked at Diva, then shrugged and smiled, holding out his paw for a hand shake like he had seen humans do before."Hello Diva."said Shimmer, trying to be friendly. Meanwhile, Sky finished talking to Robert, and realizing the opportunity she had given him, he seized the chance. "You're not just a girl to me. And I think your Pokémon wouldn't like you talking bad about yourself like that. You're my friend, more than that. I'm sorry you don't connect with your family, but you're Pokémon are as much your family as your cousins. Just be yourself, you're a great person." Unable to keep his composure any longer, his cheeks could be seen getting red, and he quickly stood up and walked over to the window, hiding his face from view.

Shimmer began giggling after Sky poked him, then shook Diva's paw happily. Sitting next to the Umbreon and leaning against her body with a content sigh."Thank you, Diva. You are very unique as well."Meanwhile, Robert felt the pressure of Sky's hug on his body, and he had a small smile on his face. His right hand came up and was placed on top of her own, interlacing his fingers with hers. He spoke out loud this time, because he felt an invasion of her privacy at a time like this would be rude. Robert had a lot of emotions running through his system as he pulled away from the kiss. Happiness, Anxiety, Relief, and one he didn't expect, Disappointment. He realized that Sky hadn't kissed him back through the whole thing, and it seemed to confirm that she didn't want a relationship. However, those suspicions proved to be wrong, as she wanted another kiss. Chuckling slightly, he leaned in once more, this time placing his hands on her hips and pulling her closer to him, their bodies merely a hair's breath away. Robert felt the pressure of Sky's body against his, her soft lips upon his own, the way her fingers danced in his hair.... Everything was right with the world. His body trembled with happiness and fear, but a good kind of fear, more like anticipation of what was to come ahead of them now that they were at this point. Soon everything became a blur, the only thing he focused on were the lips on his own, the beating of his heart, and the whisper of Skylynn's body brushing against his.

They spent the rest of the night together there in the room, simply enjoying each other's company and kissing. Nothing else happened but the occasional make out, as by unspoken consent, neither party was willing to take things that far. At the beginning, they had called both Shimmer and Deva back into their Pokéballs, as they grew tired of the giggling and chuckling from both of them. Now, they both sat in one chair, Skylynn sitting in Robert's lap, looking out the window at the falling snow.
