At this point, it wasn't so much about gathering energy was it was getting revenge. Leucite had returned to the area where he had encountered the loincloth wearing sonnuva b***h that had broken his wrist. The wrist had healed of course - thanks in no small part to his medically inclined Negaverse ally, Amethyst, who had ensured he'd received quick and prudent care to the limb once he'd damaged it. Luxor was on the top of his list of people to stop so hard into the mud their children's children wouldn't remember what the sun looked like.

His plan to bait him in was easy. He just drained everyone he ran into completely and left them slumped out in the open, leaving a trail of "breadcrumbs" as it were, to the place where he'd chosen his ambush, a nice empty abandoned lot nestled between a shoddy looking - and empty - strip mall, and what looked to be a slowly dying tire shop.

Regardless, the last of the drained Leucite left slumped against a light post at the edge of the lot, while he himself perched atop the office complex, keeping his energy sense open and searching for the elusive knight. He tried to stick to the shadows as best he could - sure, Luxor could sense him, but it would help if he didn't SEE him.

Luxor was surprised to find himself passing through this area again. The last time he'd been here, things had gotten a little hairy for him. But he'd managed to at least deal some damage to his opponent and establish himself as fighter of some sort.

Now, he had a much more serious reason for being out and about. Maybe he was hoping to run into that Nega again, as if he wouldn't learn his lesson. Because it would be another chance at his own revenge. Not for any one fight, but for the Carnival.

All those people. He was a Knight that served the dead, the fallen. He would avenge their deaths, though they had died for nothing at all. He could never change that, never give them meaning. But he could honor them by fighting those that so callously took their lives from them.

He was determined.

Following the drained people only made his anger more acute, and he realized he was on the right trail. In fact, the idea that he was actually following a trail made him even more furious. He felt the energy aura and he moved toward her, looking around for the Nega responsible for the string of slumped bodies.

"I know you're here," he said blandly, but his voice echoed with a deep resonance. He spoke from the pit of his chest, where he stored his anger. "I know you're waiting for me. I'm here now."

Good, he did show up. Staying in the shadows, Leucite reached into his own core to bring up his best parade voice. One benefit to living the military brat life - you learned how to talk really loud.

"Glad to see you could make it, did you enjoy my little gifts?" Leucite did not leave the shadows, but instead stuck to them, moving quickly as he spoke as to not remain in one place too long. He was sure after awhile the knight could pinpoint him but where was the fun in that.

"I plan on doing the same to you of course, but I'll take your starseed as well and hang you from the tallest point here... as a warning to your kind." A dark laugh followed the threat.

"That is of course, if you're man enough to face me, and not resort to cheap tactics like last time. You willing to face me... hand to hand? Or do I need to go and find you another stick... maybe shove it up your a**?"

He was only a little bitter about the broken wrist.

Only a little.

Luxor frowned, feeling the energy but not good enough at pinpointing sources yet. He got the feeling it was coming from one direction, but the echos of his voice made it seem like that instinct was wrong. He stood where he was, instead of picking any one direction, frowning bitterly and looking annoyed. Usually, emotions did not make it to his face and he was impossible to read, but it seemed the exception was incredible rage.

Incredible rage showed up on his face rather easily.

"I don't need anything to fight you. I'm not the same Knight you met before. I know all about you and your games now, and I'm not going to let you keep these things up. I'm not going to let more innocent people get killed or hurt because you want their energy for whatever nefarious plot you need it for. And I won't let any of you get away with what you've done so far. Every action you've made, every person you've hurt: I'm going to make sure you pay for it."

He growled, looking around and sizing up his location instead of trying to find his opponent immediately. He imagined the other would appear when he wanted to. Luxor needed to be ready, so he scanned the area around him as much as he could.

"Always with the lectures," Leucite chuckled as he once again moved position, trying his best to stay on his prey's flank. He had made it over to an AC unit on the roof, where he had placed a stick about he same size and length as the one that Luxor had used to break his wrist. Lifting it up, he checked the heft for a moment before moving again, this time toward the edge of the shadows of the rooftop, thankful for the only single source of light below.

"We will punish you for your crimes! What crimes? What wrong have I done? The people I have drained are unharmed - after a fashion. They'll wake up a bit woozy and weak but none the lesser for it. I only take starseeds from those who society would be better off without. Drug Dealers... Gangbangers - their ilk. So am I truly hurting anyone?" Falling silent again, he took several quiet steps and tried to line himself up. Once he was sure he was where he wanted to be. On Luxor's left. He took a running leap - swing the stick down in an over head strike as he aimed right for Luxor's temple.

He words, no warcry, just a silent sneak attack from above.

Because, revenge.

Luxor frowned and clenched his fists tightly together, fingernails biting into the palm of his hand. He felt the pain sharply, but he didn't release his grip, his anger stewing as the Negaverse agent spoke. Like he knew what he was talking about.

Like he had any right to be speaking at all.

"Why should I let you survive when your kind slaughter without mercy? Why should I believe your words, when you're possessed of the same Chaos that taints the worst of you? You might not think you're like that now, but if allowed to continue, you'll be just like the others. Why should I let you get that far? Why shouldn't I stop you here. Now. Before you can do any of those terrible things."

He was surprised when he heard the footsteps to his left, body reacting as he turned toward the sound. Not fast enough. The stick crashed down at him. He was in the middle of jerking to the side, enough so that it slammed into the lower part of his head, over his ear and neck, rather than his temple. But it was not much condolence, as the blow was hard and jarring, and it sent him sprawling sideways. He found himself down sideways, skidding on his knee, awkwardly trying to get to his feet before he even had his senses back.

His world was spinning, and the pain in his side reminded him that he was not fighting fit.

"Damn you!" he growled viciously, near blindly barreling towards Leucite, like a runaway truck.

The attack was not the coup de grace that Leucite had been hoping for, but the damage it had done to his opponent warmed the cockles of his heart. With a malicious grin, he brought the stick back up again, swinging it again at Luxor as he charged at him, not using it to poke and prod the other man, but trying to hit him as hard as he could. As he swung, he took a step to the side, turning his body into the swing to give it as much force as he could muster, hoping to actually break the stick against the man's face or neck if he could.

Leucite was going for as much pain as he could muster into Luxor, laughing darkly as he was more than willing to let the other man grapple him if he dared. He'd been looking for an excuse to improve his ground game.

But first things first - Luxor was going to have to deal with the stick. And Leucite had no intentions of letting up turning the man into a walking pinata.

Luxor was not thinking. If he was, he would have anticipated the stick coming at him again, and altered his course. Slowed his charge and took some sort of cover, lifted his arm maybe, or do what he could to catch the stick itself. But he was not thinking, and that showed. He just continued to barrel at him like a bull seeing red, and took the swing of the stick full in the face.

He was sent crashing to the ground sideways, blood pouring down the side of his face as he slammed into the ground. His ears were ringing, and his vision was blurred badly. He put his hands under him and tried to push himself up, but wobbled and lost track of which way he was supposed to go. He fell back down.

"I thought you said hand to hand," he grunted bitterly, spitting at the floor and growling softly. He got to his feet this time, though he wobbled as his vision wavered, the edges of his eyes darkening.

He looked around, spotting Leucite again. He was favoring his head now, as well as his side from his previous injury, given to him by Painite. He should not have come out tonight.

Leucite grinned, spinning the stick in his hand for a moment with an almost sincere look of innocence. "I lied." He said conversationally, looking Luxor over before once more pushing the attack.

This time he aimed the stick for Luxor's kneecap - putting as much force behind it as possible. He'd of killed if he could have broken something in the other man - a bone, a joint - anything.

But he'd settle for extreme pain and discomfort at this point.

Luxor let out a cry of pain as the stick slammed into his knee, knocking his leg out from under him and making him slam face first back into the ground. He remained down this time, pain tearing through him. He'd pulled stitches in his side, the wound seeping blood, but now the terrible pain in his knee was what was really getting to him.

His head was bleeding and he was too stunned and dazed to get up this time. He was stuck, he realized, and helpless.

"God damn you," he cursed lowly, struggling against the impossible weight he was feeling over his body, but not succeeding. It was like gravity had been multiplied a thousand times. He could not get up, for multiple reasons, regardless of how strong his will was.

He was at least conscious, though, however dazed it might have been.

"I'm going to kill you," he growled through his tightly grit teeth, though that seemed highly unlikely at this point.

Leucite dug his boot into Luxor's bleeding side, using it to roll him over onto his back with a light chuckle. A few good kicks to the side to add injury to insult and Leucite was ready to begin the fun part of the "fight."

He leveled the stick at Luxor's face, before tapping him softly on the cheek with the tip of it with an almost too wide grin. "You're really in no position to be making those kinds of threats, if anything, I'd say all you'd be good for right now would be to be my little b***h - but lucky for you I'm straight... Also taken, so count your blessings."

The stick continued to tap a light 4/4 rhythm against Luxor's temple. Not hard enough to hurt but firm enough to be annoying. Finally, Leucite pulled the stick back and made as if to smack Luxor full on in the skull, only to release the stick on a high arc, sending it out of the lot and probably across the street - it was too dark beyond the street lamp to tell for sure.

"You're pathetic - I'm pretty sure last time we fought was a fluke. Gods, of all the ill luck." He said as he knelt down next to the man, placing his hand on his chest with a almost friendly smile. "But that's okay, I'm gonna take away all your pain now."

He felt his hand slowly enter the other man's chest, seeking out one particular thing. When he found it, he made eye contact with Luxor, and wrapped his fingers lightly around the other man's starseed. "You feel that? I'm inside you right now... I guess that technically does make you my b***h, huh? If I wanted to I could take your starseed and you would die, slow and forgotten here in this empty lot."

Fingers released the starseed and slowly he hand left the chest of his crippled foe, before he spat in the man's face in disgust. "But I don't want your failure of a ******** starseed. You're weak, you couldn't even put up a halfway decent fight. You are completely useless and it would be a mercy to kill you. Better to let you suffer and rot."

Standing again, he kicked Luxor once more in the wound Painite had gifted him, before walking over to the young man who was slumped against the light pole. Dragging his body over next to Luxor, he knelt down on the opposite side of the man's body and turned his head to Luxor could get a look at him.

The unconscious man was probably in his late teens, early twenties. His face was sharp and angular but still had the softened edges of youth. He was obviously not a poor kid - his clothing was more than decent and his shoes were brand new. Leucite placed his hand on the other male's chest lightly.

"Of course, I really can't go back to my superiors empty handed. Now granted, I do have a lot of energy - the people I gathered from to lure you here were quite ripe for the harvest." Another dark laugh slipped from the male's lips as his hand slowly started to sink into the unconscious civilian's chest.

"But Starseeds - they are worth their weight and then some - I will just take his, since yours is so weak and useless." Slowly the hand sank deeper and deeper into the civilian's chest.

"That is - unless you want to beg for his life... I'm an honorable man - let's see if you can sway me..." Leucite grinned darkly at Luxor, hand halfway submerged into the civilian's chest. "Really, really beg for his life... grovel for it... I want to hear the tears."

He licked his lips for a moment as they were starting to grow a bit dry, as he watched Luxor with hateful eyes. Would the knight even beg? Even with a Civilian soul on the line?

Leucite was about to find out.

Luxor wasn't sure what to do with himself. He needed to get up and save that poor civilian, but he was in terrible pain, and quite a bit of shock.

He had just felt his starseed in his chest. He had someone else touching it, grabbing it, and had been moments away from having it ripped out of his chest. He could not even comprehend the reason why he was still alive, save for a terrible stroke of luck that he would never know how he had ever earned. And he was not sure if he was thankful for it. He was useless, that was true, and he was weak.

He kept being shown how weak he was. It was pathetic, and it was burning him from the inside out. He needed to be stronger. He needed to be able to help these people, not end up like them. Wasn't that why he was given this power in the first place? Wasn't it supposed to help him somehow, make him strong enough to do something?

The only thing he had ever felt with this 'power' was helplessness. He felt it now, stinging and bitter, rising in his throat like bile and gripping his heart like an ice cold hand. He watched the Nega and the civilian, the throbbing and ringing in his ears making it almost impossible to hear Leucite's words. He writhed helplessly, unable to tell which way was up, or where the floor was, let alone how to stand up on it.

"NO!" he bellowed, as loud as his normally low and flat lined tone would allow. "Leave him! He's innocent! He's already paid his price to you! Take mine! TAKE MINE!"

Leucite grinned, the knight's cries music to his ears. Slowly, pulling his hand out of the civilian's chest, he waited until he was completely disengaged before sliding the civilian back to the pole and propping him up again. Moving over to Luxor, he grabbed the man by the straps of his uniform and hefted him up off of the ground, grinning widely into his face as he got him to halfway sitting.

"The civilian lives... You get to live... For what your pathetic life is worth anyway..." Dropping him none-too-gently, Leucite stood and looked down at the knight, once more spitting in the man's face and kicking him in his open spear wound.

"Go crawl back to your hole and die - maggot." Leucite growled, slowly walking away from Luxor. "If I see you again I will kill you."

Leaping up to the rooftop once more, Leucite crouched back down into the shadows and waited.

If the knight got back up and hobbled off - he would go home himself. If after fifteen minutes he did not rise, Leucite decided he would power down and call an ambulance. He may hate the knight - but to see his personal play toy broken beyond repair?

Oh no - that would not do.

Luxor growled as he was manhandled and spat on, but there was little he could do about it. He fell backwards and shut his eyes, unable to move. The pain in his body was terrible, the likes of which he had never felt before. Which was saying a lot, as he had suffered many accidents in his Carnival business.

After a long moment, he felt like he was alone. He wasn't sure how long it had been, but he rolled over and pushed his hands under himself, struggling to his feet. He was lucky he had the sense to not power down, though he was not aware at the moment that he was being watched.

He just knew that if he powered down, he would be in a lot more pain for it.

Taking a slow breath, he got his feet to start moving, taking slow, pained, and very heavy steps away from where he had fallen. He left a lot of blood on the floor behind him, but that was a problem for someone else. Maybe when he did power down it would vanish, as well.

He wandered away slowly, trying not to think about anything. It turned out to be an easy thing, since his brain was just empty, rattling with pain and not much else. His ears were ringing, but that just served to tell him he was alive.

He wasn't sure where he was going, but he was sure he'd end up somewhere important eventually. He thought about his friends, and something in the back of his head told him to try and find someone who could help him. It wasn't the best plan, but it was a plan nonetheless.
