Madison wasted no time upon her return to Deus Ex Machina. She allowed the Life Hunter on duty to patch her up a bit, so at least she wasn't actively bleeding from the bite wound on her left shoulder, but she was still rather evidently battle-scarred as she headed for the Death Lead's office. She wasn't going to wait a moment before presenting him with the item he sought. The doorway loomed before her, and she closed her eyes for a moment against the dizziness caused by blood loss. She could take care of that later. Right now, she was giving Caelius his goddamn bling. She knocked, quickly, with her right hand. "Sir?"

"-don't see what the huge issue was in promoting me as acting division lead," came a whiny, incessant voice from Caelius's office. It was sort of familiar, like the Mark kind of familiar, "Holding back my potential as an assistant. Do you know how shameful that is. This, assistant does not assist, he does far greater things, without me you wouldn't even have running-"
"Oh for crying out loud Mark, can you please let us think for one second." The second voice was also distinctly Not Caelius, and also female. "And for the love of god, can you please use your infinite intellect to give me something that does not blow up in the first attempt. I swear to god Mark-"
The voices continued bantering, without being aware of who was waiting outside.

Madison frowned. She didn't hear Caelius' voice... and given the whining, she was pretty sure he wasn't even in there. Damn. She'd so wanted to give the crystal to him in person... well, maybe whoever was in there would know where he was. She lifted her right hand again and knocked stridently, three hard raps. "Excuse me!"

Madison's rather vehement raps thankfully pushed open the remaining of the open door, revealing the office of the Death lead that looked, honestly, like it was going through renovation. Twice. If renovation involved strewn paper, technology, Runic devices, and everything but the kitchen sink. The epicenter of the disaster zone seemed to be centered around Mark, the prolific, horribly organized Death Assistant who's reputation proceeded him by an infinite number.
Seated on the far corner across from him - the raised voice made sense as she had probably been shouting across the room, was a shorter Death Hunter with cropped black hair tied in a ponytail. She was currently faring a little better, pouring an open folder on an impromptu fold-up table while stacks and stacks of weapons tablets lay behind her. It sort of looked like everyone was on inventory duty.
"Can I help you?" Sam, the shorter Death Hunter doing weapons tablet inventory duty, raised an eyebrow. Her tone was dry and sarcastic at best.

Nope, he wasn't here - though given the current state of the room, it looked like that was a good thing. "I'm looking for Caelius," she said, evenly. "He sent me out after something, and I've retrieved it, so..." Her shoulder throbbed again, and Madison gritted her teeth - hopefully the bite wound wasn't going to re-open. Not before she'd given the Death Lead his prize. "Sorry for interrupting you," she added, looking at the mess and the stacks with a cringe. "If there's anything I can do once I've turned this in... er, and gotten to the Life Labs..." Was that blood tracing down the inside of her arm? It was under her coat, so at least nobody could see it... yet.
