Gen3sis Teepee

It was there, staring at her straight in her glowing yellow eyes. It taunted, teased her with its incredible ability to flow silently, and yet it knew how to prove that it was a worthy adversary. Her nose sniffed the water suspiciously, her eyes narrowed as her cheeks puffed in annoyed concentration. It wasn’t going to get the best of her this time. Nope. Nada. Not happening again. Not like yesterday. Fool her once shame on it. Fool her twice shame on her. Fool her three times and there was going to be a problem. And quite frankly Elysia wasn’t too keen on the idea of have a problem this day.

Nope.

Not gonna happen.

Elysia ducked her head closer to leer at the looming water, “Now listen to me here H2O of necessity. Ima going to drink you. And you’re going to like it. You’re not going to cause me to shock myself again today kay thanks. Those are the rules of engagement, got it?

All she heard was the continual flow of water over the rocks quietly. It was truly a serene, calm place. Anyone else traveling through would have seen a simple place of possible calm, relaxation. But not to Elysia. Not today at least. She knew water had it out for her from time to time. Just because she was the Angeni of Lightning didn’t mean water had the right to make her shock herself by accident.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t control her power, by all means she could. But the fact remained that during certain times of the day and certain weather patterns caused her coat to become more electrically charged than other times. It wasn’t a bad thing. And on many occasions she was grateful for the abilities. But at the same time being shocked when she was just trying to take a drink took its toll on her already young patience.

She dipped her head close to the water, her lips barely grazing the top layer of water. It was now the moment of truth. It was now or never.

Well….

Not never.

Just long enough to the tingling out of her lips so that she could try again. She was just grateful it didn’t happen as often as it did when she was a young filly. Now that just wasn’t very fun. Especially bath times with mom and the siblings. Every time she’d come out of the water looking like a large “Puff Ball of Doom” as her two brothers used to call her. And then she’d end up chasing them around the home front trying to shock them too. Pay back was always sweet.

Elysia giggled at the memory and finally dipped her lips fully into the cool liquid, immediately feeling the soothing effects on her parched throat.

So far so good.

At least, until she heard something.

Then came the zap.

“Owww!!!” she lifted her head up and shook her head from side to side, “dang it!!”

Something or someone sounded oh so annoyingly loud.
What was that? Shouting at..water?
He shuddered to think of who or what was causing such a ruckus yet, the male kept walking towards it..his thirst was mighty. Mouth dry from a long journey..so he resigned himself to whatever fate awaited him at the sweet trickle of cool water.
Stepping through the trees Honovi looked over the noise maker..a mare..she looked like something he'd only heard of. An angeni..how strange indeed. Never the less he dipped his paws into the cool water's trickling flow and, bent his head at first in greeting and then to drink. Poised, alert, ready to attack but, only if needed..never would Honovi act without some sort of reasoning behind it. No. He wasn't a beast..wasn't a skin walker or purewalker. He had a heart, a soul and didn't manipulate others to do his bidding. Even as he stood with head bent drinking he worried over how powerful angeni's were..the pawed male only had stories to go on..and those were more foals tales than anything else.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 02, 2013 8:32 pm

Oh my, someone else not only heard her, but saw her act the way she was acting towards her sworn enemy of doomsday. Now THAT was embarrassing. She felt herself blushing as the stallion she had never seen before strode past her. Quite the handsome stallion too. But what caught her interest was the fact he didn’t have hooves! Instead he had four interesting paws. She had only heard about pawed soquili from her father who traveled far and wide. And most of them liked to eat meat and were evil. But this guy didn’t seem evil. In fact, he basically said hi to her and went about his merry way towards taking a drink in the evil water.

That said, Elysia’s interest was spiked. And that made her excited. She loved excitement! There was never enough new things to do in the day! Most days were just boring and…meh. But this, THIS was something noteworthy. Her wings fluttered at her sides, the electrical current flowing outwards in her glee. I mean if he was going to attack and eat her she would have thought he already would have done it by now. So, since he hadn't, she already felt like she could keep her guard down and see where things went. That wasn't a bad thing! In fact, it was over half the fun! If not all the fun!

Super happy fun times, yay!!

“I like your paws! I’ve never seen someone like you around before~”

Blinking silently when the mare spoke, his ears flickered back with a slight hint of irritability yet he hid it with a small smile of greeting. With one final swallow of water his head lifted, eyes meeting her's with a delicate tilt of his head. " Hello miss. A pleasure to meet you..yes well..I've never seen someone like you before either." What else could he possibly say about something he'd had since birth? Of course some were fascinated..others feared..and still others, like Honovi's mother; thought he was cursed. A demon in sheep's clothing. A beast hidden under a kind facade..when in all actuality he tended to be a pretty kind stallion. Sure he had his limits. This mare had a very vibrant and bright personality. Like a hyper ray of sunshine gone mad. Honovi mentally chided himself for judging but, already he'd heard her talk to WATER and, act rather..bouncy. "My name is Honovi.who might you be?"

Her feather twiddled, yes…twiddled as he spoke. Calm, cool, collected, SO COOL!! She bounced in place happily, her feet lightly coming off the ground and hovering repeatedly before coming back down to the forest floor. The last thing she needed was to get stuck in the trees cause her wings got in the way. Either way, this was becoming way more exciting! New experience for both of them.

Yay!

“I’m Elysia! And that—“ she dramatically points to the water off DOOM, “is my forever foe called water.”

Her cheeks puffed for a moment as she stared at the taunting crystal clear liquid. Darn thing can’t keep its liquidy hands to itself!

“It likes to shock me and it’s not fair! I didn’t do anything to it!”

Electrical sparks came out of her eyes as she blinked and whined, “Mehhhhhh it’s not faiiiiirrrrr!! At least it doesn’t shock you!”

She shook her head again, “What cha up to today??? Anything fun? Exciting? New? Crazy? Super happy fun times???”

So this time his assumptions hadn't been wrong..at least trusting his instincts got him somewhere in the world. Ears flicking again at the overly loud excited and, hyper active mares words he looked back to the water. It..shocked her? What was she? Eyes rapidly blinking he couldn't help the barely contained snort of laughter at what she said. " Water cannot hurt you. It's...water..." To Honovi that made perfect sense. Stepping his front paws out of the trickle of water he let a toe flick a few innocent droplets at the mare..curious about what would happen. Part of him wished to prove the mare wrong and see if she had a sliver of..calm intelligence under the hyper active rainbow of glee she was currently spouting in his general direction. " I am on a journey..to gather supplies for trading."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 02, 2013 9:52 pm

Elysia yelped and tried to dodge the droplets, but alas it was not meant to be. They landed on her and immediately the fur that the water landed on went POOF! All fluffy! She groaned and shook her hoof, trying in vain to get the fluffy looking fur to go back down to normal. At least it wasn’t a lot of water. But it did calm her down…. somewhat.

“My coat is electrically charged. I’m an Angeni and my domain is lightning. And unfortunately, as a side effect, I get statically shocked some times by water.”

She pouted and hung her head downwards, looking utterly pitiful….but not quite. She wasn’t totally pitiful and nor looking at all for a pity party. At least he hadn’t splashed her with a lot of water. That…just wouldn’t be fun. And at the words of supply gathering she grew even more curious.

“Supply gathering? For what?” she looked at him innocently and curiously.

Hopefully curiosity didn’t kill the cat.

No pun intended.

Snorting, his lips twitched..ears perking back up to hear the sound her pelt made when the droplets hit. Curious. He took note of her somewhat calmer state and, made sure to remember it should they cross paths again. "I apologize, that's rather strange..you are more unique than I assumed." Still calling water an enemy was a bit..silly. Her question made him pause..paws dipping back innocently into the water to cool them off and clean any debris away. He had to take good care of them, just as others had to care for their hooves. " I trade items with others..for shelter, for food or stories or other trinkets that catch my eye. I'm collecting right now for any future grandchildren I might have in a few months, giving them gifts is all part of being a grandfather..though it makes me feel old." Cheeks puffing a bit as he let out a somewhat exasperated breath the stallion stepped around, nose sniffing the air to catch any interesting scents. " I also collect herbs for a mare I know of. A friend of my son's. She lives alone in a large area of forest..protecting it and the animals that live there."

“I’m unique?” Elysia wondered out loud and looked at him for a breath.

She took in his appearance more in depth. Honovi certainly looked like a stallion. The ears, the face, the jaw, and the neck. Even the tiny fangs protruding from his mouth. From a young age she was taught about the differing breeding down in these lands the Angeni looked over. And a few breeds, and mixed breeds, held fangs of their own. But Honovi, he was something different. Despite looking soquili like from the neck up, that’s where the similarities began to blur. Instead of four hooves he had four paws. And instead of a normal soquili tail he had a rather fluffly feline tail, kind of like a Unicorn. It certainly wasn’t exact, but that’s the only thing Elysia could compare it too.

Even his accessories looked different and unique to just him.

“I’d say you’re more unique than me,” she grinned happily, “in many ways actually. I’ve never seen anyone like you before.”

Elysia tilted her head to the side curiously as he explained what he did, her curls bouncing to the side as they fell across her forehead. He was already a father too? Wow, he was so young! Older than her for certain, but not that much older she couldn’t help but think.

“I don’t think you’re THAT old,” she stressed, “You couldn’t be much older than me!”

She thought for a brief moment afterwards. Herb’s he said. Honovi collected herbs. If she remembered right she found some great healing leaves not too far from where they were. Plus is was close to her little alcove in a very large and old oak tree. Maybe he’d like to see what she found.

“Herbs you say? I found some great ones for healing not too far from here. Would you like me to take you too them?” she offered after a quick moment, “this mare you speak of might find them come in handy for nausea. She sounds lovely.”

She smiled once more as her feathered wings ruffled, subtle lightning bolts flickering between the individual feathers. She hoped he’d take the offer. He was too intriguing to let go so soon. Too much fun! Maybe it was quick to jump the gun but she wanted to get to know this unique stallion of super awesomeness, become friends hopefully. Maybe? Possibly? Yes! That was her new goal. Elysia always liked making more friends. Her momma taught her to try and make friends when the opportunity presented itself. And this was the perfect opportunity to flex those ideals.

Hopefully Honovi didn’t think she was too crazy.

Although she could be when she wanted to be. It was all about living life to the fullest!

Ears flicking up a bit Honovi offered a simple nod in reply "That would be lovely, thank you. She's a good friend to many..she's the one who's helped me find my son." Curious about the herbs she spoke of he willingly followed the mare, eyes glancing about for signs of danger or other plants he could trade to the mare Vedis. "I also collect other things..feathers, skulls, pelts and seeds. I even know how to make small clay vessels to hold precious liquids and honey from bee hives." Yes, the flock had given him not only his children but a wealth of knowledge that he would put to use out in the 'real world'. The flock was a world of it's own..once you entered it was nearly impossible to leave. The lovely blue mare reminded Honovi of a foal and that alone made her endearing. So sweet, hyper and full of life. "Well I feel old, how about that?" Spotting the little alcove up ahead he began sniffing curiously to catch a whiff of the herbs..body tensing when he smelled something else. An unpleasant scent that meant danger. "Stop! Don't go near the tree..there's a snake somewhere nearby. Do not move." Voice very serious but, quiet..the stallion stepped cautiously through the grass and underbrush. Snarling when the first sharp teeth sank into his tender paw. "You devil!" Using the injured and now bleeding paw Honovi stomped the snake, slicing it with the sharp claws upon his pawed feet. "Stay there.." Out of breath now Honovi hurried to secure the area..limping as he did so but, uncaring of the injury. The male wouldn't let this sweet mare become injured in his presence. After a few moments of sniffing about he limped back to her side, hissing in pain when his front paw was moved too quickly. "It's safe now miss. I'm afraid we will have to stick together for awhile if that's okay. We must go see the mare I know of..in case the snake was venomous. Would you accompany me?"

Concern flitted across Elysia’s brow, her feathers ruffling when she saw the stallion, Honovi, she had to remember that name, limping along. The male protected her without even a blink! And in doing so hurt himself! That just wasn’t fair! Of course she’d go with him! It was the LEAST she could do to thank him. And taking a look at that dead snake over by the trees, it didn’t seem poisonous. But one couldn’t be too careful. Appearances weren’t everything. That she could say for certain.

“I will absolutely come with you. But first, let me do something for you to help with the pain,” she smiled at him.

With a swish of her wings, they came around her body, lightning thrumming through her feathers and across her form. When her eyes closed, there was a jolt of sparks around her and the ground, just by the stallions paws, yet not touching. And when her eyes and wings opened again, Elysia was no longer in her equine, more used, body. She was now human and naked as the day she was born. Her skin was paler than a traditional kwani native with a tint light blue, darker colored lightning marks came around her arms and down her back; the eye markings remained, and her curls bounced around her shoulders and below her shoulder blades, ever much the bright blue.

Not even noticing Honovi’s reaction to her change, Elysia skipped over to the brush and pulled some bark from the tree, some long leaves, flowers from the ground, and a couple of vines. And as she walked back to him her put the flowers and bark within her mouth and chewed until it became like a paste. Quickly kneeling by him, she picked up his paw and nimbly worked the paste over the wound, winding the leave around it to act like a temporary bandage, and the vines to secure it in place. When she stood back up to look at him, she finally noticed his expression and giggled.

“It’s not much but it’ll get us to your friend!”

His expression made her realize that he couldn’t understand her words. And remembering that in her human form communication was extremely limited, she quickly shifted back. A sheepish smile adorned her lips.

“So sorry, I forgot that communication was different when I change my body! It’s easier for me to help with human hands with wounds in places like that. I was saying that the wrapping I gave you is only temporary. The flower and bark mix should help with the pain, and the wrapping should hold until we get you to your healer friend. I’m sure she’ll be able to give you something more.”

At his incredulous look again to her, Elysia giggled again and explained further, “I’m the Angeni of Lightning. I can change my form when I need to in order to blend in with humans. But as you can see, even in my human form I can only blend in so much. I don’t show my human self too often, unless someone is hurt and I need human hands to better assist with the healing process. And even then, I don’t stay in my human form long anyway. It’s not very helpful only having two legs. I don’t know how the natives do it!”

The stallion could feel the sudden surge of 'power' and he tried to step away when the mare vanished..only to be replaced with what looked like some alien kawanii native. Snorting loudly his first instinct was to attack however some small part of Honovi's mind held him back. This odd beautiful creature smelled like Elysia..even the movements of the two legged female felt familiar. Though their time together had been short he was certain that somehow this was the silly young mare in a different form. As his paw was wrapped there came a gentle cooling sensation followed by a nice pressure thanks to the vines. The added stability had Honovi smiling and bravely bumping against the females smooth pale flesh. Only after she had changed back did he find his voice. " I knew you were unique but..that was truly amazing. Does it hurt? Fascinating..you could also use such a human two legged form to climb up high to grasp things."
Honovi had more than once pondered about how much easier it'd be to have hands like the kawanii people. How much easier it'd be to not only treat wounds but, imagine making pelts or clay vessels for storage. Currently the stallion had to work very carefully with a small group of familiars ( mostly raccoon's) to make the precious bowls. Even then they didn't hold THAT much and the design left a lot to be desired. Shaking off his wandering thoughts the male gave a deep bow of respect "I thank you then for your kindness miss. Let us move forward then towards the forest of Vedis."

Lifting his head upright Honovi could only grin, what had started out as a bit of an annoying encounter had turned into a grand adventure! Oh the stories he'd have for his son & his grandchildren. Stepping forward with a barely noticeable limp he led the way north towards the guardian mare's stretch of territory. A place where all life flourished, where herbs grew in plentiful bunches..and the trees teemed with life because there in the 'forest of Vedis' creatures knew nothing of soquili predators..the only thing to fear were hungry foxes etc. "It's a lovely day for adventure."
