( Note; there may be possible others. Will have to talk to Niss. If so, I will add information up here at the top! )

“Are we there yet?” Kirk groaned, his head lowering some as he trudged forward, dragging his hooves in the dirt.

Kirk had known that it was going to be a rather long walk; after all, they were going to some hot springs, or something. That’s what Uwasa had mentioned. And he was psyched! He honestly was! He’d yet to go to a hot spring, and who didn’t want to go to one? They were sexy, right? Right. Super sexy! He grinned at the thought, but he was already so tiiiiired. And it was probably because he had spent most of last night on high alert. Go him for being a protective future daddy! He didn’t even have children on the way and he was already feeling it shoot through every fiber of his being.

At a pointed look from Spock, Kirk grumbled, and looked back down toward the ground. This was the third time he’s asked today. Or rather, third time he’s asked in a few hours. He was certain that Uwasa was going to start getting irritated. But he just… He wanted to be there. Wanted to relax and get ready to settle down to have kids; even though he wasn’t going to be the biological father, they would be his all the same. He bumped lightly against Spock, needing the quick physical contact, before taking a deep breath, and lifted his head to a rather proud degree. The ever cocky Jim Kirk was back to his hyper excited self within seconds.

Spock had to resist chastising Jim for whining. If that was what it was called. He could remember several moments in his life where his father, while he grew up, would inform him that “whining to get what you wanted was not the Vulcan way”. That being said, he did not find it an attractive trait. But, he merely sent Kirk a look that informed him to be patient, and they would arrive shortly. He had to relax. Kirk was not a wise man when he was riled up or stressed. It usually left him somewhere that would involve the stallion being in danger, and Spock having to find a way to save him. Which, was all in good; he would always save his captain. But if he didn’t have to do that, then Spock’s life would be a lot easier.

The bump caught him off guard, and he shifted slightly to the side with it. His eyes flickered over to Kirk, watching him curiously, before he turned his attention back forward, watching Uwasa, who was walking slightly in front of them, leading the way. Spock swished his tail to the side, lightly brushing Jim with it, before he moved forward a little faster, his paws leaving small marks within the dirt. He moved to her side, his movements as poised as they had been since the beginning of their journey. He never faltered, never tired. Or he didn’t show it. Tilting his head down to speak, he talked in a gentle voice, knowing he had irritated her recently.

“May I inquire an estimate of the timeframe until we arrive to the hot springs you spoke of? I am afraid that Jim is getting restless.”

It had been several weeks since Uwasa had last been home. Her last visit had been nearly two months after the jungle scare where everyone ended up thinking she had been dead. She hadn't been free to leave the mountain for a long while after that but when she had Uwasa had met Kirk and Spock. They had been looking to start a family and Uwasa had been happy to help, after all if anyone was going to understand the particular family dynamics that came from surrogacy it would be the mare with two fathers and a mother. Besides that she enjoyed the company of the two. They were odd, like everyone she seemed to know, but it was nice to be around them.

The hot springs had been her idea in a way. It hadn't started as a serious invitation but Kirk had seemed interested enough so who was she to deny a trip to her home? It would be good for all of them...especially with Kirk complaining every few minutes.

Her ears twitched as she heard one of the two moving closer. Turning her head revealed that it had been Spock. She tilted her head to smile up at him and then paused at his question. Uwasa came to a full stop just long enough to survey the mountain path. She knew they were close but saying that would not put an end to her companion's ceaseless grousing. As soon as she knew where they were exactly she picked up the pace again.

"We'll get to the cave, my home, before we get to the hot springs, it's a good place to leave anything you don't want getting wet. That should be in about ten minutes now, three if we run. The springs are further up, about thirty minutes from my home." Uwasa's heart started beating faster as she thought about just how close they really were. She had played on these trails every day as a child. Her fathers had trained her in places just a few minutes away from their current location. They still went out to spar in those places these days and Uwasa knew there was a decent chance that they would run into her family any time now.

Though hopefully they'd be able to get a good soak in before any of that. Explaining the presence of the two stallion's would not be easy even if the reason was simple enough.

Well that was all she had to say. Jim grinned, sent a look to the two up ahead, and then was off. The stallion's feet barely touched the ground as he moved. He brushed against Spock ( of course slowing down ever so slightly so as not to hurt him ), and continued onward. Ten minutes. And then she said three if they ran? Ha! He'd make it in two! Maybe even less than two! Kirk was a very competitive stallion. If anyone ever gave him a challenge, like hell he wouldn't beat it by over half! Jim didn't take losing easily. He never lost, and never would disappoint. It just wasn't his way.

As he swerved up ahead, he realized something. He had no idea where he was going. Slowing down to a stop, the stallion panted, before tilting his head over his shoulder to stare at the two that still seemed to be walking ( He figured that Spock wouldn't run, the lazy butt! ). Sending a grin their way, Kirk turned himself to be facing them fully. He shook out his mane, and reared up on his hind legs, kicking his front in the air before landing with a small thump back on the ground. "Come on! Let's go, go, go, go! You guys are moving so slow!" He called, laughing and dancing on his feet to get moving again.

---------------------------------------

Spock eyed the smile curiously for a few moments, before turning his eyes away from her. How was it so easy for them to show emotions? His eyebrow quirked for a few seconds, before it fell back into a normal look. He moved easily, as cat like as one of the actual beasts. His ear swiveled for a moment, turning toward Uwasa, before facing forward once more. He paused when she did, waiting patiently, until she started to move again, and nodded his head in acknowledgement to her statement of time. That was acceptable. "Noted. I am certain that moving quickly from here would cause us to be tired when it came to being within the ho-"

Spock was cut off by someone pushing against his side. His head instantly snapped to the side. But all he caught was a blur of gold and tan, and then it was gone. He turned his head forward, watching as Jim seemed to run ahead of them. For a split second, he debated on running to catch up with the stallion. But, he decided against it. Instead, he glanced over toward Uwasa again, and quirked his eyebrow at the mare. Shaking his head some, he turned forward again and moved after Jim. "He is energetic." Spock observed, his voice low to ensure Jim did not hear him. "If you need me to take him away for some time, just let me know. I know he can be... overwhelming."

Uwasa heard the movement from behind them but by the time she turned to see what was going on Kirk had already bolted past her and Spock both. At first she was simply startled and impressed by his speed. Then she felt a jolt of panic surge through her as she took note of the direction he was headed. Her eyes widened and her breath caught before he slowed. She ignored his little display in favor of listening to the voice of stoic reason.

"I'll keep that in mind, Spock, but I think I can handle him...and if I can't the traps will." Uwasa's tail twitched irritably as she voiced her concern. She had played on these trails every day but she had also been trained around them and there were things a lot less innocent than rocks lying off the main paths. "You shouldn't go charging off like that!" She scolded trotting up to Kirk with an unusual high step, a sign of her worry and agitation. "You're going to get yourself killed doing that!" She stopped just short of the large stallion to scan the area around their feet. It was blissfully free of traps. He hadn't wandered far enough out. The traps were there to deter predators and enemies. Towards the base of the mountain the were usually just rigged to make a creature trip, others were concealed pits. This close to their home Torao, Hisoka, Nichi and Uwasa had all worked together to construct more dangerous devices made mostly from objects stolen from humans. Kirk hadn't been skewered by a spear, one day he would know how lucky he had been.

Kirk was breathless when he stopped. He laughed, taking the air into his lungs. It was like a cold rush through his body. He flicked his short tail, eyes flickering around the area. Something felt kind of off. Something felt different. He blinked, looking down toward the ground curiously, before lowering his head. His ears flicked up toward the sky, before pinning back as he sniffed at the earth. Something was different. Kirk had a rather good sense of danger. And despite running off into a zone that could, and would, possibly kill him, it wasn't until this moment that his "Captain senses" began to tingle. He glanced around some, before huffing lightly at sense. No need to keep that feeling in his body. If this area meant he would get the tingles, then he'd step away. He shook out his body, before letting his eyes flick back toward the pair that was making their slow, leisurely way up the hill. Honestly, they were so slow! The leader of his small group grinned, turning toward them, up until he heard Uwasa shout toward him. His ears pinned for a moment, as thought he was a child being scolded by his mother. He sent her his winning, cheeky smile though, and took a few steps over toward the mare, meeting her part of the way.

"Killed? Hah! I've never gotten hurt from a run, sweetheart." He said, grinning down at her. His bright blue eyes flickered up, locked on Spock, and lightened greatly. He winked toward Uwasa, chuckling deviously, before trotting over to Spock. Doing a small circle about the Vulcan. He noted the sharp look he got, but Kirk didn't seem to actually pay attention to it. It was is if the stallion was used to that kind of attitude from the dark haired one. He paused when he did a full circle, grinning toward Spock, before leaning forward lightly quick and nipped at the long ears. The reaction made Spock giggle like a schoolgirl. He backed up quickly, just in case the Vulcan reacted poorly, before turning once more. Flicking his short tail once more, he trotted back to Uwasa, a smirk on his features. "So! How much farther now? Come on, come ooooon! I wanna get there!" He said with a bright look in his blue eyes. It was always so rare and so hard to get Kirk to calm down; the best way for it to be a very stressful situation. But the fact that he was given the opportunity to start a family, the fact that he was with the love of his life, and a cute girl who was helping them out, it put him on cloud nine. Nothing could drop his mood.

-----------------------

The Vulcan's dark eyes locked on the mare, staring at her with an intensity that only a desert dweller could hold. It was as though he could see every movement of her, down to the shift in a single strand of hair that bounced as she walked. His own cat like tail flicked, almost when hers did. He glanced back toward Kirk, head tilting curiously as he watched the man seem to stop to observe the grass at his hooves. Swiveling his ears to listen to where Kirk was, Spock frowned. Was something wrong? Kirk had always had a sort of sense that the Vulcan could never place. There was always something in Kirk's brain that Spock could never understand. He always had something going on in that head of his. Spock's head tilted down when the mention of traps hit his ears. He frowned, the first real emotional reaction to anything said in the past few days. Turning his head back toward where Kirk was located, the stallion sped up slightly, paws clipping the ground. "Kirk-" Spock was cut off by Uwasa's shout. He paused, staring toward her, before moving after her quietly to catch up with the energetic stallion.

Spock listened quietly as the mare spoke harsh words toward his T'Hy'La. And, shockingly, Spock didn't mind. He tilted his head, nodding in slight agreement. "I have informed him of this several times, Uwasa. James does not listen. He runs by his own will and no ones advices." Spock explained, his eyes once more locking on the man in front of him. Kirk seemed to have a devious look, and it didn't settle well with the stallion. His ears perked up some, head pulling back and held high as he observed Kirk's motions. He tilted his head a fraction, watching him curiously. He flexed his paws for a fraction of a section, before the claws snapped out and locked into the dirt. The feel of teeth on his ear brought color to his skin, his eyes widening for a moment, before going back to normal. The only difference anyone would be able to see in his appearance would have been the tint of green to his ears and his cheeks. The tip of his tail twitched, before he took a deep breath and started forward, head held high. Let Jim play his games. "Come, James." He stated, his voice flat; it was obvious that he was holding the irritation that he had for Jim in at the moment. Jim knew just the way to make Spock turn green, as well as the ways to make the Vulcan show some form of emotion. As much as he despised it at times, he had to applaud the golden haired stallion for his efforts. He looked over his shoulder toward Uwasa and Kirk, nodding his head toward the direction they were going, before facing forward once more and continued onward.

She was going to have a heart attack before this was all over and done with. Uwasa could feel it all the way down to her tail tip. If Kirk realized the sort of danger he had been in (which she suspected he did judging by the way he looked around) he didn't care about it any longer. He seemed more fixated on making an attempt at flustering the feline stallion that she was to mate with sometime in the near future. As far as Uwasa could tell the pale stallion was still completely composed, an admirable trait. Both males were ready to proceed and Uwasa was unwilling to hold them up. However, she was also unwilling to let either one of them wander off in the wrong direction and end up on the wrong end of a swinging log or spike pit.

"We're almost to my home and I will be leading the way from here." Uwasa said forcibly as she trotted purposefully to the head of the three. "And don't step off the path around here. It isn't the running you should worry about in these parts." Uwasa was determined to make Jim listen if it was the last thing he did. It didn't matter if he was unwilling. Her life wasn't the one in danger here. She would show them one of the traps when the time was right. Now was not that time because she feared if she showed them now they would want to leave her home before she ever got to see her parents.

Keeping at a quick pace Uwasa lead them to a mostly level clearing near a cave. It took barely a minute and Uwasa was thrilled to see that it hadn't changed at all. The ground was completely covered with hoof prints so that it was difficult to see where one print started and another ended. It didn't look like anyone was about. "The entire clearing is safe." Uwasa announced as she pranced toward the cave with more energy. Poking her head inside revealed it to be empty for all but a pair of pelts. Uwasa smiled and pulled her own fur off her shoulders to lay it beside the fox and tiger furs. When her parents returned they would know she was home then. "You two can leave your things in here and then we can go to the springs."

Uwasa was a bossy buddy. That was weird, but, Kirk nodded his head and huffed lightly. If she wanted to lead the way, fine. Jim wasn't used to sitting in the back seat. His ears flickered lightly, and his eyes moved over the small frame of the feline tailed cat. She had such power, despite her size. Honestly, Kirk felt a little out of ease around her at times. He glanced toward his love, eyes bright and blue, before looking back toward the female once more. He nodded as she spoke, following behind her slowly, and let her lead. The stallion shook out his body, getting his body at ease, before he looked over toward Spock once more.

"Mr. Spock and I don't have much things, Uwasa. As you can see." He said, grinning lightly. He trotted up beside the mare, before nudging her lightly, and chuckled. At least they were "safe" now. He looked around the cave, his eyes flickering lightly as he took in the sight of it all. It seemed rather easy going, though he was certain it wasn't... The stallion shifted, nodding toward Spock, who moved over to help Jim unclasp the belt around his hips, and drop the phaser down onto the ground near the furs. Jim smiled toward him, before moving over to the feline, and untied the bandana about his neck. He dropped the blue material to the ground, just as Spock helped him with his own. He nudged the cuffs off his front legs, before shaking out his body once more, getting his pelt to settle perfectly over his form. He was comfortable, for sure, now.

"Lead the way, Miss Uwasa." Kirk said, all too cheerily.

------------------

"Kirk, Miss Uwasa is right. She should be leading the way. We do not know this area." Spock stated matter-of-factly. He flicked his long tail, the tip skidding the ground. His sharp brown eyes locked on the female, watching her quietly. She was a leader, he could tell. He nodded lightly, before Spock moved slowly behind her. He kept his paws on the path, following just to the right of Jim. His eyes lingered for a moment, before he tilted his head over toward the other stallion. He observed him with a curious stare. The stallion was far too emotional and high strung. He was excitable, and out there. Spock was never certain how he was going to control the other stallion, let alone children who would be raised by him. Hopefully the children would take after the Vulcan side, and be as he is. He didn't think he could handle a bunch of high strung children running around. Though with Uwasa's genes...

The Vulcan shook his head, eyes closing. No. Don't think on that. He pushed the thoughts from his head. She wasn't even pregnant; they hadn't even attempted yet. Children would come later, not now. He noticed the nod, having lost track of time as he was in his thoughts. He shifted some, reaching to let his teeth grab hold of the leather and pull until it came loose. He set it carefully on the ground, before using his tail to slip his own belt off. He set his devices down, and helped Jim with the bandana around his neck, before lifting his head, holding himself high. He looked over toward Uwasa once more, dark eyes locked on her for a moment, before nodding gently. He agreed with Jim, ready to have a moment to relax.

Once they had all settled their things in the cave Uwasa smiled and headed back out into the opening. "It's not much further to the hot springs." She declared setting off down a different trail that lead to a series of switchbacks heading higher up the mountain. It was a thin path just big enough for a single horse. There were safer paths but this was the fastest way up making it preferable to Uwasa's entire family.

As she followed the trail she slipped into an easy sense of familiarity. It was almost like she had never left home for the jungle at all. It was like her life was the same as it always had been. All the while though, she was constantly aware of the eyes on her and the stallions following her. Her life was not the same. It was nothing like it had been before. She was preparing to make a large leap in life to help a pair that was so much like her own family she couldn't ever dream of saying no. Uwasa felt she was doing the right thing and she wanted to help but it did still make her a little nervous. It wasn't like she had ever had children before or even stood with a male for a night.

It was good that she was home now. She could use the reassurance that it offered her quivering heart.

As Uwasa stepped off the switchbacks and onto more level ground she was greeted by the sight of something standing in the steam. Something small. Uwasa took a step closer and blinked a few times to clear her vision. That something was standing on the water and it made her heart soar. "おかさん!" She shouted running toward the pool slipping easily into her secondary language. The language of her fathers.

-------------------

User Image Sabella stood on the surface of the water in meditation. Her eyes were closed and her hair clung to her neck and face, wet from the steam. She had been feeling ill at ease again and had thought that meditating would help center her. Ever since Uwasa had left for the jungle the first time Sabella had found that her heart ached every second that her child was not home. It terrified her to think that something might happen to her outside of their borders away from the protection of Hisoka and Torao. The two stallions had offered what words of peace they could bring her but it had done Sabella little good. She needed her baby close to her. More than anything she needed her baby.

A tear slid down Sabella's cheek and she could feel herself sinking down into the water. It felt like she could hear her child calling out to her in that foreign tongue even now. Her eyes snapped open and Sabella dropped in the water like a stone. That was not a trick of her mind. "Uwasa!" She called with a voice full of warm relief. "Uwasa you're home!" Sabella forgot her manners in the presence of her constantly absent daughter and sloshed out of the pool with all the grace of a drunken crane to meet her child on solid land. "I have missed you." She said wrapping her neck over Uwasa's own in a strange sort of hug.

Despite the reassurance that they were close, Kirk was getting bored with being dragged around the area. He was ready to, honestly, relax. And that was rare. Jim always enjoyed adventure, he always loved the thrill of the world and of danger. He let his tail flick for a moment, and when they started toward the narrow path, the stallion stopped short. He looked back over toward Spock. He stared at the stallion for just a few moments, up until Spock nodded. Knowing he had the support and strength of Spock, Jim smiled. He nodded back, before turning and started after Uwasa. It was narrow, and the path was different for him. He usually had so much room. He shifted and walked carefully. Every once in a while, the feel of a small nudge on his flank made him feel a little better. "It's a little narrow, isn't it?" He said, voice low.

As they finally emerged, Jim could smell the water in the air. It was thick, and made him shake his head for a moment, before he was out of the narrow path. Within one step, Uwasa was gone, and left him quickly. Jim was startled by the sudden lack of a woman in front of him. He blinked, and felt the warmth of a body at his side as Spock came out of the cave, and stood beside him. Jim glanced up for a moment, blinking at Spock, before smiling lightly. He kept quiet, knowing how family could be. Instead, he stood along side Spock, and kept his eyes away from the two mares, not wanting to intrude on their time.

---------------

Spock didn't seem bothered by the time frame. He was used to traveling and harsh conditions. He did, after all, live in the desert his entire life. His eyes flickered for a moment, locking on the pathway. He shook out his fur, so that his muscles were more relaxed. As he took a half step forward, he noticed the unease look in Jim's eyes. His gaze shifted for a moment, before he nodded lightly toward the stallion. The ease that shifted into his form all but made Spock smile. He was glad that he could keep Jim calm. And if he could do that, than this was fine. He flicked his tail, before moving slowly forward, and followed close behind Jim. His paws moved slowly, careful not to stir anything up or leave too strong of prints. Every once in a while, he leaned and let his nose lightly graze along Jim's flank; a sign of affection and support. He didn't want Jim to feel alone, and he was certain that the stallion didn't; but he always worried.

When he was able to step beside Jim, he did. Spock's eyes flickered for a moment, adjusting to the difference in light and air. The steam made him squint for a second, before going back to normal. He stared curiously toward Uwasa and the other mare, before letting his eyes drift back down to Jim, who seemed to be looking at anything but the two. Tilting his head, Spock blinked at Jim, confused. He let his eyes linger back toward the two females, tail swaying slowly behind him as he tried to keep himself quiet and in calm. He didn't want to overstep his bounds.

Uwasa stood enjoying the closeness of her mother for a few moments before remembering why she had come up to the springs to begin with. She stepped away from her mother and nodded her head at the two stallions that accompanied her up. "Mother, this is James Kirk and Spock. They are friends of mine and are together." She smiled at the two stallions then at her mother before moving to stand at a halfway point between her mother and her friends. "Kirk, Spock, this is my mother Sabella." She nodded her head and took a step backwards to give the three space to deliver greetings.

------------------

Sabella bowed her head very low so that the ends of her hair brushed against the ground before straightening slowly. "It is an honor to meet friends of my daughter. I hope you have not found the journey too long or difficult." Uwasa's friends were curious things, roughly the size of Hisoka and Torao. One looked about normal though he had a substantial bulk to him. The other looked as though he might have had a cursed birth like her own daughter. By the look of him his parents must have done much worse than murder a few people. He had strange ears, paws where hooves should be and a tail just like Uwasa's own. Doubly cursed if Uwasa's words carried the wait she thought they did.

Hisoka and Torao were "together" as Uwasa had put it and it had driven them mad before driving them apart. It was not an existence Sabella could see any wishing for. The judging eyes of all those around you. The snickers. The sneers. Being treated like your desires were somehow unnatural.

Still, the two seemed happy. The hurt that she often saw in the eyes of Uwasa's fathers was missing from the two. Perhaps they had been lucky and only encountered those like Uwasa and herself. Those that had hearts rather than holes in their chests. Sabella smiled gently at them before turning to her daughter once again. "Have you introduced them to your fathers yet? Would you like me to go get them?"

Jim flicked his tail lightly. He watched them, before getting an almost... compassionate, would be the best word, look to hsi eyes. He turned his head away, peering around for a moment, before nudging Spock lightly in the side, and sent him an award winning smile. He observed the area around him, taking in everything just in case. He was a leader, after all. Had to make sure that everything was safe and perfect. When he heard his name ( his full name, which was kinda frustrating ) he turned his attention back to the two lovely ladies not far off. A smile lit up his face, and he inclined his head lowly, almost brushing his nose to the ground, before lifting his head back up, tossing his short hair away from his face. "Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Sabella. Call me Jim, please. James is so formal." He laughed, closing his eyes for a moment, before taking a half step forward.

He was preparing to continue forward, toward the seemingly warmth of the springs, when Spock's tail found it's way around his back leg. He paused, looking over his shoulder toward the Vulcan with curious eyes. He frowned some, before shrugging and turned his attention back forward. The mention of fathers made his ears perk up some, and his energy bounce back up to a child on sugar's level. He wanted to meet all of them! He was certain that the fathers would be awesome dudes that he could talk to and maybe spar with. Spock never wanted to spar. Just test the brains or something. It got boring over time, but maybe that was because he could never win...

----------

The Vulcan was confused as to why his mate was seeming so ashamed of the two before him. It was an embrace shared by mother and daughter, and in that, something quite normal, correct? In his culture, such touching was not common; though Spock had spent enough time within the herds to learn that not everyone acted as his culture did. Usually, a brush of the tail was enough to send a Vulcan to knowing just about everything. There was specific gestures and movements that made them understand just how one was feeling. Emotion was too powerful for them; too energy consuming. So they had developed movements and positions of a tail to show certain things. For instance, when two of his species pressed their tails together, side by side without intertwining, it was a form of a hug, much like the two females before him were doing. So, this was something that Spock figured to be a typical movement for other people.

When he was introduced, Spock nodded his head curtly, his ears swiveling slightly. He listened to Jim talk, before frowning as he began to move forward. It was rude to go forward without being invited. Shifting his tail, he wound it around Jim's leg and tugged. When Jim looked back, Spock shook his head lightly, before letting his gaze once more linger upon the two mares. They had others around? Spock hadn't seen anyone; so perhaps they were in another area. Either way, he was certain that he would have to meet them at some point in time.

Sabella nodded her head graciously at the offer to address him less formally. "Jim, then." She had been raised to always be respectful to those around her especially to the males. These lessons always came back to her when she was in the presence of strangers. Even if these strangers were friends of her daughter.

Uwasa was going to reply to her mother's offer to find her fathers, Hisoka and Torao would want to meet Spock and Jim but she couldn't quite decide if she wanted them to come by yet or not. She had counted on some down time before seeing them, just enough to relax in the springs, but if her mother was here it was likely that one or both of the stallions would be dropping by to check on her safety sooner or later. Sabella was a kirin after all. She was a creature that belonged to the gods and something to be protected at all costs. Uwasa may have been Sabella's daughter but she was no kirin. Instead Uwasa had been trained to defend rather than to be defended. It had been a complicated situation with her being a female though. All three of her parents assumed that she would need protection for at least one point of her life.

Uwasa glanced to the two stallions and couldn't help but smile secretively. They had no idea what they were getting into. She would feel worse but it seemed like both of them were used to some strangeness in their lives. Her family would just be one more oddity...she hoped.

"You don't have to, mom." She started to say before freezing abruptly. Her ears flicked back and her eyes narrowed. Something was watching. Her tail flicked about behind her as she hissed like a feral cat.

------------------------------

"It is safe, Uwasa." Hisoka said slowly in his native tongue as he approached the group from the east of the hotsprings. He wasn't looking at Uwasa or Sabella though, his golden eyes were fixated on the two stallions that were intruders as far as Hisoka was concerned. He did not make a habit of allowing strangers in his home especially not those that looked to be a threat. The stallions were about equal in size to Hisoka and his lover but one was broader and the other boasted a set of claws for tearing into flesh. He would not allow them to go unchallenged and the longer he could keep them focused on him the better.

His tone became harsh as he addressed the stallions in the language of the area. "Who are you? What do you want?"

User Image While Hisoka drew the attention of the stallions Torao moved in from the west. It was a well practiced skill from years of hunting together. Hisoka would lay the trap and Torao would spring it. No one ever suspected Hisoka. He looked so well groomed and gentle even if he rarely smiled. Everyone would mistake him for a pampered softy and that was usually their first and last mistake. Of course Hisoka was just as deadly as Torao was. Hisoka had a rare ability to remain almost completely silent until he wanted to be seen.

Even as proud as he was of Hisoka's ability to stay silent he was just as proud of his daughter for being able to notice Hisoka before he announced himself. She had been well trained. He doubted the strangers she was with had been so lucky.

Jim smiled gently toward the Kirin. She was beautiful. Really. Stunning. And usually, well, before, he would hit her and try to get her to join him for a long night of great passion and pamper. But he had Spock. And Spock didn't like when he hit on other people ( as much as he denied even really noticing, Jim could see the hint of color in his ears when it happened ). So, he just smiled toward her, and decided to be very polite. "Your daughter is amazing. She is such a sweetheart, and is helping us out a lot." He stated, his voice gentle. He glanced toward Uwasa when she spoke. And then, a hiss. A frown instantly formed over his features, and his ears pinned for a moment. Even though he hadn't known her too long, he had grown protective of her. She was helping himself and Spock. She was giving them a family. And she was getting Spock to open up a bit more ( shockingly ). So whatever made her hiss, made him frown and his muscles tense. He could feel Spock at his side do the same, though only he could really detect it.

That was when a voice popped out. He heard it first, but didn't understand it. He had never really learned other languages. Spock had, but he hadn't. Though he wasn't even certain if Spock knew this language. Taking a step forward, Jim stood in front of Spock, his eyes narrowed some. He didn't appreciate others looking at him, or his lover, like that. His tail gave a half flick, and he held his head up high, showing his own stance of power and authority. He wanted to tell Uwasa to get behind him; that he would protect her, and her mother if need be. His eyes flickered over the stallion. He didn't look like much of a threat, but he knew not to judge by their appearance. Many times he had done so, and been taken down only to have Spock save him seconds later.

"I don't think it is right to come and demand answers of me. For all I know, I should be asking you the same thing. And by Miss Uwasa's reaction to your appearance, I do not appreciate you coming up to us and acting like you own the damn place." Jim said, his voice firm. Of course, he had no idea who the hell he was talking to.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spock watched the two with a curious look. He enjoyed observing different reactions between people, family especially. He glanced around for a moment, always aware of his surroundings, before his eyes landed once more on Sabella. He blinked at her, before nodding his head slightly, and flexed his claws to get more comfortable. At least she was polite; much like Uwasa was when Jim wasn't being... well... Jim. His tail flicked for a moment, before something shifted in the air. His ears perked up, swiveling, and the fur on his back stood up slightly from the feel. His eyebrows pulled together, and he looked around slowly. The hiss from Uwasa caused him to look over to her, brown eyes locked.

The appearance of the first stallion made Spock stare. He tilted his head for a moment, before his ears swiveled. Someone else.... Someone else was here. Dismissing the first stallion, since Jim seemed to be handling this first stallion on his own, the cat like stallion turned slightly toward the west, his eyes searching. He could feel it... Could feel someone else coming toward them. His tail gave a small flick at the end, claws flexing again. He hated violence, hated having to fight. But if someone was going to threaten himself, his lover, or the mare that wished to help them, then he was going to fight back if he could. He searched as best as he could, but the hazy air from the hotsprings caused him to be unable to see through the mist as well as he would have in clear air. So, he watched for movement, ears perked to listen for noises. If someone was going to come in and try and sneak up on his mate's back, then Spock would be ready to fight them off.

At the appearance of Hisoka, Sabella quickly bowed her head, murmured a quick goodbye and left. Hisoka was on the attack and should this come to blows she wanted to be nowhere near the blood that would follow. It always made her sick to see it and it was even worse to smell it. Kirin were compassionate creatures and Sabella could not abhor bloodshed.

-------------------------------------

Uwasa's ears flicked back as she glared at her father. Couldn't he ask questions before becoming so defensive every now and then? Uwasa imagined that this was why she never really had any friends growing up. Her fathers would always chase them off.

-------------------------------------

Hisoka didn't see the look Uwasa shot him though. His attention was on the strangers, one seemed to have picked up on Torao's presence. Hisoka tapped his hoof two times on the ground quickly before setting it down hard. To most this would be a sign of aggression. To Torao it would serve as a signal. "Uwasa was trained to notice. She noticed." Hisoka countered coming to a stop. "This is our home. You will answer the questions." Hisoka hadn't missed that the stallion knew his daughter's name. "You know these two?" Hisoka asked his daughter privately. She knew both languages fluently, something he doubted these others had the privilege of.

---------------------------------------

"These are my friends." Uwasa replied in the common tongue sounding completely annoyed. "I brought them here to see my home and meet you." Uwasa could explain the more unusual details of her involvement with Spock and Kirk later. For now she just needed to pacify her fathers. Both of them. Spock seemed to have far keener sense than Jim did. Good. At least her children wouldn't be stupid.
"And we know you're over there, daddy." She snapped glaring towards the west.

-----------------------------------------

Torao chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound that somehow managed to sound more threatening than a growl. "You've got sharp company." Torao said revealing his position before snarling at Kirk. "Though that one seems a bit stupid." He added privately. As usual his daughter was the smartest in the bunch. She could also give anyone a run for their money in a contest of survival.

Jim literally had to stop himself from lunging at the stallion in irritation. But when he heard that it was his home, he glanced toward Uwasa for confirmation. When she mentioned "daddy" on the other hand, the stallion just kind of stared at her. What was going on? This was... these were? He glanced to the side at the sound of a chuckle, his eyes locking on the new comer, before he narrowed his gaze some. He hated this different language thing. He stood firm by Spock, his muscles quivering a bit with the want to defend his mate and himself. If it called for it, he would fight them. He didn't want to ( especially knowing that it was Uwasa's fathers, but still ).

The stallion glanced back at Uwasa once more, watching her with uncertainty. He huffed a bit, before his eyes locked on Hisoka again. Eying the stallion, he took a half step back toward Spock. His lover glanced at him, and they shared a look, before he felt something. A tension in Spock that was very rare to even be around. The cat like Soq never did that. He never made noises or got angry. Never showed emotion. So the tension in his tail, which Jim could see very easily, was frightening, at best. "Spock..."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Vulcan frowned toward Hisoka when he continued to talk. His ear flicked slightly, but stayed pointed toward where Torao was hiding. After a moment, he looked back to the west, scanning the area once more. Answer questions? Unlikely. Not with Jim in this mood. He recognized some words that Hisoka was speaking, having been taught a bit by Uwasa. The word "you" was easily picked up on, the others not so much. He glanced back to Jim, staring for a moment as the stallion backed up. He then heard the other stallion, before seeing him. Spock's eyes flicked over and locked on Torao, staring at him with a sharp gaze.

That last word made him frown. His whole body tensed, claws digging into the ground, and his tail tip flicking once before going very still. That word reminded him of the word that Uwasa often called Jim. Idiot, she said it meant. And where Uwasa knew Jim, and understood him, this stallion did not. Spock believed Uwasa used the term with a sort of affection. Like when Jim called Spock a "goblin". It was affectionate teasing, or so Jim explained. But this creature dared to insult his T'Hy'La. That did not bode well with the desert dweller. Taking a step toward Torao, he stood his full height ( rather tall, really ) and stared at him with a sharp, cold look that could cut anyone to the bone. "I advise you to apologize to him. You do not know James Kirk, and your insults are unwarrented. I do not wish to result to violence. But if I must do so, then you will not emerge unscathed." He said, the threat sharp on his tone.
