While in the middle of dancing, a grunt in the group spotted a trainer with a Riolu and stopped briefly to go and confront them. "Well, well, well. What have we here? Looks like there's a little trainer here trying to save the day" A few of the other grunts nearby laughed in response. Just what was a kid doing anywhere near this place? Did they know just how dangerous things could be if he got involved? No matter, Mister Alpha Grunt would do something about this pest. "Beat it, kid. If it's a battle you want, then a battle you'll get. I'll take you on." Alpha smirked, though not visible because of the black face mask he wore. It did not really matter, considering anyone could tell by the tone of his voice that he was teasing the poor guy. In any case, he would deal with the boy one way or another. "Go, Zubat. Show this kid what we're made of!" With a flick of the wrist, he threw out his first pokemon, a Zubat popping out. He looked just about ready to take some pokemon down. "Your move, boy." Looks like the battle was just about ready to begin.

"You guys make it really hard for me to look cool. I mean my boss is battling your boss, you gotta give me some credit for showing up." Sora replied a little jokingly to the laughing grunts as the one who confronted him threw out a Zubat. "Oh well, let's just show em what we're made of. Zero - use Quick Attack!."
Zero responded by rushing toward the Zubat with unnatural speed, jumping up at the flying pokemon with a kick aimed at it's midsection.
At this point Sora thought about switching Zero out with Shinx, but the battle had already started, he wasn't ready to risk Shinx getting hurt before he got a chance to do anything.

"Heh, truuue..." He held his smirk. "But I'm not one for playing nice." He learned that when he went easy on another trainer. If he showed any mercy, he would be made into a laughing stock. When his Zubat got, hit, Alpha smirked before conducting his first move on the pokemon then. "Use Astonish, go!" In a swift move, Zubat moved forward, but created a horrible noise to come out of his mouth, red waves of energy coming from his mouth to hurt his opponent. ((How does Astonish even work? I saw on Bulbapedia that a Chimecho either did this or made a horrible face... eh, this makes much more sense, considering Zubat does not... necessarily... um, have one. sweatdrop))

Zero took the astonish and shook it off. His Inner Focus preventing flinching. "This battle is gonna drag on, time to switch." Zero backed up to beside Sora while he pulled out the pokeball containing Shinx and threw it.
Shinx shook itself off and looked around. "Out of one fight and into another. Let's rock, Shinx. Charge!"
Shinx began to charge up with electrical energy

Seeing that the Aura Guardian had changed pokemon, Alpha scowled before commanding his pokemon once more. As the Shinx charged up, he decided to take advantage of this. "Zubat, Leech Life, let's go!!" Moving forward once more, the bat pokemon drained the energy of the Electric type in order to replenish its own health. ((I would assume that since Bug type moves do a normal amount of effect on Shinx, then two blocks would be added to Zubat's health and taken from Shinx... smile)

Taking the Leech life, Shinx stumbled back a couple of steps, but then regained his balance. "Aight, It's time to get physical. Shinx use Spark!" Shinx cried out in response, it's body suddenly filling with electrical energy, then it ran at the Zubat and jumped.
((Ooc: Gah, those healing move. Always gotta watch out for the healing moves. That spark takes away 5 bars. 4+1 because of charge. I have to bring up a type chart every time I type one of these replies XD))

The electric type move caught the Zubat a bit off guard, causing him to be critically injured by the move. It made his trainer curse in response. "Quickly, use Bite!" The Zubat shook off the attack and darted towards the Shinx in a quick manner. He had hoped to injure him as soon as possible and attack once more. Alpha did not know if he would have enough time to do so, so he just stuck to Bite for now. It would be silly to keep on draining life from him.

"Dodge it, then use spark again." Sora said, Shinx rolled out of the way of the Zubat, then rushed at it with more electricity. Sora noted that it would be annoying if the Zubat kept using leech life, but Shinx could dish out more damage than Zubat can heal, so the battle between them at least would still be short.
(OOC: I love how that all I can really do right now is spam my moves. New trainers ftw)

Once again, his Zubat had taken the hit, making him irritated to no end. He really did not want to have to change pokemon, but what could he do? Returning the poor pokemon, Alpha got out another pokeball and sent out his Stunky next. "You're up, Stunky. Let's make sure to beat him good, alright?" The Stunky let out a cry of anticipation, getting into a battling position. He was ready for any attack that this pokemon had in store for him. If he sent out a Riolu, he would be prepared for any attacks that could critically hurt him. "Stuuuunk!"

Sora didn't make any move when the grunt switched out his pokemon. Shinx was in good enough health that it wouldn't really matter. Besides, Sora could use some fresh water in case things got bad, he had enough to back them up for a while. "We got this Shinx! Use Leer" Shinx's eyes flashed when it looked toward the Stunky.
(OOC: I assume you just take 1 more point of damage than normal when you have decreased defense?)

"Scratch, now!" Alpha ordered his pokemon to go ahead and scratch the pokemon. Swiftly, while the Shinx was using Leer, it pushed itself forward to fall down towards the Electric-type, a quick and easy move. Not that it did much damage, but it should have been enough to take off a few health points or whatever it was.

Shinx took the scratch, backing up a few steps. "Spark, once more!" The electrically charged pokemon ran rushed at Stunky. To Sora's knowlege, Stunky was a poison type so Spark wouldn't have the powerful advantage it had on Zubat. Spark was still the strongest move that Shinx knew, so he could keep using it for now.
(OOC: I've been forgetting Spark's paralysis roll 3 bars o' dmg)

Note: When defense is decreased, a dodge is removed from the Pokemon who's defense was lowered. So Stunky's dodge count is now 1 instead of two. It can only dodge one attack.
