"No problem, Biroki!" Yaholo replied, pulling his hammer out from behind him. This was good, he needed the practice! Biroki looked nervous, though, which made him feel awkward. A practice battle was a practice battle, no need to feel sorry! As he readied his hammer he tilted his head, but smiled. "Wow, you're married? Congrats, if it's not too late!"

Biroki yelped. Holy roati this guy was fast with his big hammer! He had no right being that fast.
Fortunately, Biroki was good at running away and managed to jump aside. He pulled at the magical leylines around him, feeling them pulse. Okay... okaaaaay. This would work.

Yaholo, having never had to deal with magic, outside of his step-mother's healing process, had absolutely no idea that Biroki had actually done anything besides dodge his attack. He blinked, took a deep breath, and raced forward again, really focusing on dealing a good blow this time.

Ow! ow ow! Hard hammer hurts like hell! But he'd managed to move with it and escape the worst of it.
"Nice hit!" he said, keeping it friendly. Friendly was good. Friendly meant bruises and really bad scrapes, but not death.
He quickly hop-skip-scurried back, hopefully out of range of the hammer. He needed to buy some time...

Yaholo does not fall on his a** and reaches Biroki without a massive fail.

"Thanks, I've been practicing!" Yaholo replied, practically grinning. He was still pondering why Biroki wasn't trying to smack him or anything and did a mental shrug, before simply running after him and dealing as good of a hit as he could muster.

Biroki had been expecting him to charge, and had been expecting to get hurt. He cast a small wave of soothing white-orange light on himself. A little bit more time... he had to see if it worked.

Biroki let out a cry and a gout of flame. The leylines he had placed before burst into a whirling storm of light. Perhaps he showed off too much. Sparks showered down, but in the end, it hadn't done much. He was breathing hard as he slipped back into stance.
"... Well, I g-guess thats how that works" he said, wary.

HOLY s**t, FIRE! FIRE! Yaholo stumbled about, flailed, and cried. Magic was scary! FREAKING SCARY! After the sparks had gone and he was certain that the attack was over, he turned his attention back to Biroki. Well, he had to continue, despite the fact that now he was terrified of Biroki's magic. He lunged forward and swung for Biroki's left side.

Biroki reacted with the usual compassion to the scared sounds he was hearing. He hadn't thought his attack had worked that well, and he hoped he hadn't really hurt his friend.
"Are you o... Gah!" he yelped as Yaholo whacked him with the hammer. Biroki managed to lean away, so it glanced more than hit. It still hurt, and he could feel the bruises and cracks in his bones. Yeah, definitely cracked, he bet. He tried to send a shock of panicked lightning at Yaholo but it arched way over Yaholos head, crackling in the air.
