Hi.
Call me Hawk! I am looking for someone who can help me understand how to RP. I have never had the chance to before, and would appreciate it if someone could help me start.

You have come to the right place!
Anything you want help with specifically, or are you just so brand-spanking new to this concept that it's all pretty much out the window for you?
Either way is fine.

If you want, I can help you, also we can start a small 1x1 rp to get your toes into it, before throwing you into it. smile And don't be afraid to ask, or say anything. One successful element to a long lasting awesome rp is communication.

TOTALLY NOT INSTIGATING
Hi. The names' Zigbon. My presence isn't really felt in this Guild as much as I would like, but meh. Most RP's start simple; Character Pictures, Names, Ages, Sexuality, Gender, Backstory, Extra Details, maybe a fancy shmancy design for making posts and a theme song for certain characters and their moments. Shall I explain further?

In any general RP as of late, a thing known as a profile skeleton is becoming the most optimal way to create characters. The one I will supply you is very basic. It is as follows;
Name: (What is your characters name? Can have a middle name or be a junior/senior if the situation calls.) Age: (How old is your character? You can list a date or input the raw age.) Gender: (Male or female?) Sexual Preference: (Does the character like boys, girls, or both?) Personality: (Your characters' disposition.) Backstory: (Usually two-three paragraph funk about your character's past, it gives the other person(s) a feel for your character, etc.) Extra Details: (Things like pets, a theme song, the likes.)
Beyond that, there are things that pertain to certain TYPES of RP, like say;
Weapons sad Adventure RP's, etc.) Pokémon Team sad Pokémon Rp's) Contractor or Human?(Anime RP, this one from Darker than Black): God/Demigod? sad Greek Mythology RP, or things like that) Heartless/Nobody/Dream Eater/Nightmare? sad Kingdom Hearts RP)
And that is the gist of profiles for a character. Most RP happens in 3rd Person Point of View. These types of RP yield some of the best results because there is little to no mistakes able to be made while writing some scenes, like fighting or conversation between more than one character at a time.
And, I also usually classify writers as non-literate, semi-literate, literate, or very literate, based on how well they can write and how much they can write. You will probably best fare as semi-lit, unless you take writing as a full-time thing. Semi-Lit roleplayers usually type one paragraph, a good start for when you are just joining the ranks of Roleplay.

What is your favourite video game/anime? Those usually spark large amounts of people willing to roleplay. A good majority of the RP scene is some anime like the new Titan one, Pokémon, and Kingdom Hearts. So, if you aren't in those fandoms, you might just become a fan through everything you see.
Besides crappy OC's, no one loves crappy OC's.

SPEAKING OF OC'S. An OC is an Original Character. It is a character that you inject into an anime, video game, or book/show into the world of that thing. This is usually most rampant in RP and fanfiction, however you may see an OC in art as well, but I doubt the chances of that unless you search strictly for that.

Forgive my ignorance, I am extremely new to all of this.

As ignorant as any other trying to get into the RP scene? It's fine. In any case, I can do a Kingdom Hearts RP with you to familiarize you with a literate writing style. How well do you know Kingdom Hearts, and what would you like to do with a RP of it?
