Super Sailor Aster hadn't visited her home planet in a long time - about a year and a half ago, when the tiny Guardian Cat ********* first taught her how and later helped her grow into a Super Senshi. Really, the Senshi of Sunflowers never thought much about it - she had tried to forget it, the terror of the memory of what she saw. When she had gone, there was a hazy flash of herself - only as a man - running through a field of sunflowers looking for a missing woman as screams were heard and the sky grew dark. It all made little sense to her, and scared the hell out of her, but there was one other thing she did remember about her whole experience to her planet - the high she got from being there. It was unlike any high she had felt before, it was pure euphoria that seemed to satisfy all her needs, letting her live a life without a single care.
She wondered, perhaps, if she were to visit again if she would be able to experience that good high without all the bad memories that came with it. The idea began to circle her mind for several nights before the young Super Senshi decided it was time to pay another visit. Finding a discreet spot, she rose her magical cellphone and searched for the signal. As the unique tone was heard, she focused in on it until suddenly - she vanished into thin air.
The brunette re-appeared on the asteroid Aster, only her surroundings now were different than before. Previously she had teleported into a field of sunflowers, but now had found herself teleporting inside a rotting, largely destroyed hut. The sun beamed down through the wilted and caving in roof made of giant, beyond-rotten sunflower petals. The walls themselves were made of sunflower stalks, bound together by rope and vine. It was primitive, and unusual, but she had the sense that this once somebody's home.
Steeping out of the hut, she began to feel the high she had come to find with a whiff of fresh air. She looked at her surroundings - she was in a small village consisting of similar huts in various shapes and sizes, all made of sunflower. To her right was a large field of amazingly tall sunflowers stretching for as far as her eyes could see, but many of the sunflowers appeared to had wilted and died long, long ago. The ones that still stood did stand proudly, looking fairly healthy for maintaining their own self-care.
To her left, however, was a far more impressive sight. It was a giant trapezoidal figure - a stone platform with rising stairs. Intrigued, Super Sailor Aster approached the platform and began to climb the steps. There was a euphoric skip to her step and perception of time was thrown off by the planet's magical effects, causing the climb of the staircase to feel like at once an eternity and an instant.
When she finally reached the top, she noticed the flat floor had a giant carving of a sunflower into it - a large circle surrounded by petals. The circle called to her - in a daze she approached the center. The euphoric high was overwhelmed with a sudden flash of a vision.
He stood in the center of carving, surrounded by the villagers. All were dressed in clothes made of sunflower petals and vine. In the center, he rose his arms up to the sun as if to worship it, and all the villagers bowed down to him, all basking in the sun's glory. He closed his eyes as he looked up at the sun, feeling its warmth on his bare skin. He was connected with the sun, he felt its energy channeling through him and resonating to the planet.
Opening his eyes, he looked out to the vast, lively field of sunflowers that gave the planet the life that surrounded him, bowing down in prayer.
Super Sailor Aster opened her eyes with a grin on her face, staring up at the sun, feeling her connection. The vision was a memory - but not her present self, but a past. Her psychic had told her about many of her past lives - curious that this was left out. She had so many questions to ask her psychic now, she wanted to return immediately - but the high was too great to pass up. She let herself lay in the center of the carving for a while longer before teleporting herself back to Earth.
Upon her return to Earth, she realized that had felt like half an hour turned out to be seven whole hours gone. She will have be more careful with her time on the next trip - because she would certainly be going back there again.
