The Stands
Would you believe what just happened? Take a look at that hit! Woah, what a match!
The buzz in the stands is exciting and creating an uproar! Everyone's talking about the goings on in the stadium below.
And what's more, there's a fairground surrounding the stadium filled with plenty of foods, wares, and attractions.
So now begs the question: what will you do first?
Notes: || Non-combatants and those who aren't fighting at the moment can RP in this thread with all of the hub bub going on around them. || Feel free to invent strange foods, games, and seller's booths while you RP. || 7 posts will count as a req for growth as with all Metas, even with the open-ended style of this chapter.

Aminah wandered around the fairgrounds, avoiding the running children and the groups of adults chattering away around her. The place was actually pretty large, and it amazed Aminah that nobody had really heard or seen this place before in all the their travels.
It was definitely a sight with the large arena and tall wooden stands built to conceal the battles from view out here on the ground. The stalls seemed to have been put up overnight, made from all sorts of materials and colors. Some of the merchants were still settling in and getting their wares out.
Aminah held her hand against her head to shade the sun and looked around once again. Maybe there would be a face she knew. Her other hand was gripped tight on Sathe. There was no way she was going to let her sister just run around wild.
Sathe had her hand held close to her mouth. There were so many people here. Her bright white hair reflected the sun, creating a halo effect around her vision. It was almost blinding. She looked up at her big sister and wondered out loud. "What are you looking for Big Sister?"
Her eyes were wide with all of the information flooding her brain. She just wanted to run to all of the booths and look at all of the goodies! Hopefully her big sister would want to buy her something.

Tau scratched under his new headdress. This one was more understated than the others. Maybe this one would be better suited to him. That was probably the problem before; the others just didn't line up to his facial structure. How could he not have noticed before? But with all of these lovely ladies around, there was no way that his new look wouldn't go unnoticed.
He flipped his hair back; damn, was it hot out today, and continued on his trek through the fairgrounds. Maybe he should hop into the stands before his first fight? The roster was already up and he was fighting a woman. No doubt he'd have it easy. But for now, he would relax.

Niabi could only stand there, like a deer in headlights. She had come out to the tournament only because of her mothers' wishes, but she couldn't have imagined it being this popular. The noise of the crowd itself almost made her want to turn back around and hightail it back home before she could be spotted. This was too much for her to take in.
She crossed her arms, holding herself to try to keep herself together and wandered her way to a shady table nearby. Maybe if she sat long enough she could soak in the vibes and want to be here.

Liira sighed, already exasperated. She wouldn't have guessed that this place would be so large, and there would be so many others here. It was a shame that she was forced to stay here for weeks now, selling her father's wares. Why couldn't he just come out here himself? Why did she have to come out and spend all of this time in the hot sun? Jauhar just wasn't her place, that was for sure.
She had been out here a few times before, what with Zena being one of the only reliable sources of fur she went pretty much everywhere. Everywhere except for the islands. Even an idiot wouldn't try to go there themselves.
Liira pushed her coat off of her back and let it drape around her hips. Even this would get too hot before long. She continue to work on setting up the canvas shading her stall and setting out the furs.

Kelina's eyes were big as she took in the fair grounds. Even the arena was large and interesting to her. This was her first tournament and needless to say she was excited for her first battle. She and her sister had arrived early in the morning and had gone their separate ways to check things out and find the roster and she hadn't seen Lasarra since. She wasn't worried though, her sister could take care of herself. Her eyes scanned all the booths, there were so many people selling different things and so many people walking around under the hot Jauhar sun! Kel was used to it though, her dark skin keeping her from the sunburn she knew she would get if her skin was lighter. Walking around, she marveled at the large amount of all the races gathered in one place. It was for competition, of course, and she hoped that it would all be friendly and no other violence would occur. She stood somewhat awkwardly in the middle of everywhere, throngs of people moving around her, some giving her dirty looks for being in the way and others ignoring her completely. A small smile was on her face as she looked around, ready for the day to start.

[Dyakida: At her Weapon stall] When Dyakida had heard about a tournament, of course she had to be there. She may not be able to participate in the fights or to watch them effectively, but she was a crafter of weapons and this was clearly a gathering of warriors. What better place to trade her wares and learn more about her chosen craft? She had set up her stall with its assortment of fairly basic weapons and other small crafts- of good quality if she said so herself. She could hear the fights being announced in the arena and, for a moment, longed to go over and know what was happening. But it was safer to stay at her stall. She could find someone in the crowd later. In the meantime, she might as well try hawking. "Good weapons! Up for trade! Reasonable prices!" she called out. Her hawking would need work.
[Peyla: Hovering near the bookie]
Peyla was eager to watch the fights. She was temporarily abandoning her duty and hovering over the bookie, trying to figure out what was going on. Since there were no fights, shiny things took precedence, and he seemed to be taking shiny things from other people and giving them little slips of paper. She couldn't figure out what was going on.

[Hijil: In the crowd] Hijil wondered if this was a bad idea after all. There were so many people around. Would any of them recognize her? Would they hunt her down like the Monster she was? She hoped not. She didn't know what would happen, but the mysterious note had been that- mysterious and she had had to come. She wouldn't admit that she had wanted some good old fashioned human contact. Or that it was good to be in a crowd like this. She milled around aimlessly, awed by the scale of the place. Who had set this up? Why? Well, she supposed she would find out.

Lasarra That morning she had arrived with Kelina, but the two sisters had gone their own ways. Lasarra wanted to see the animals they had for sale, she already had a few back at home but in order to be a true beast tamer she needed animals from everywhere. Plus maybe she would find someone interested in buying one of the ones she had at home, after all she had bought them with the intentions that they would be sold at one point.
However it was getting later and later in the day and soon the tournaments would be starting. She needed to find Kelina before that, they would both be fighting in the battles and she worried for her sister.
After searching a little she finally sported Kelina and smiled. "Sister!" she called waving at Kelina. She was curious if Bhima would be there, or any of the other sisters she knew. She had seen some of them, but none that she was extremely close with.

Vollerei Vollerei, curious about this festival and wondering what type of foods she'd find had, after signing up for the tournament, followed her nose to the food booths. Zweil, perched on a bag on her back, chirped eagerly as Vollerei's stomach rumbled in anticipation. So many foods! So much tasty goodness was coming her way! She had some time to burn before her battle... Rayolun Ray had come to the large gathering following the odd message. He wasn't sure he liked the shear amount of people and sat in a tree along the edges of crowd. He had, on a random whim, signed up for the battles. Maybe he'd learn something new. Most of his skills he'd gotten from hunting so who knew how he'd do against another earthling or alkidike. He spotted a familiar face in the crowd, Lassara. He saw her catch an alkidike's eye and run towards the other woman. He paused for a moment, the shrugged. Since he was here, might as well jump into the crowd.. hopefully she wouldn't mind him interrupting her conversation. He jumped to the ground and quickly weaved through the crowd towards her. Walking up to her he tapped her on the shoulder and smiled, "Hey Lassara."Senja Senja was bouncing up and down from excitement. A festival! She had left the troupe behind for a bit to go exploring and see the sights. Maybe she would set up a small place and dance for tips... it'd be a quick way to earn some spending cash.. but first, playtime! Diving into the crowd, her small form was soon lost to sight.

Niadra Niadra wondered if Nyiim would be there. From what she could see there were all kinds of people, and she hadn't seen him since the last time she left. Her parents and the rest of the group wanted to do a show, but Niadra was mostly excited for the battles! Although she didn't have a lot, okay almost no, battle experience she hoped it would be against someone else who didn't know what they were doing. Either way she assumed it would be fun, and she could deal with a little pain. After all, no pain no gain!
Spotting Senja she rushed over to the girl and looped her arm in Senja's. "Isn't this exciting?!" she gushed excitedly. She had been overjoyed when Senja had joined their little group, and if she saw Nyiim she hoped that Senja would be there with them! That way he could see a shifter! Though with all of them walking around he was going to see a lot if he came.

Aminah smiled down at her baby sister, taking her hand from her head. "I'm just enjoying the view. Wanna go take a look around? Maybe we can find you something while we're here." Aminah smiled down at her sister; she was just growing so fast. The thought of growing had Aminah seaching the crowd again. Keilana should be here if she wasn't mistaken, and she was bringing her little ones.
She tugged on Sathe's hand and started in the direction of the stalls set up around them. A familiar face caught her eye and had her direction set for her. She made a bee line around everyone and poked her head into Dyakida's stall, still toting her little sister around. "Long time no see! I didn't know you would be here." Aminah picked the little Sathe up and held her on her hip, giving Sathe a better view of all of the weapons on the table.
Sathe squealed in delight at the thought of getting something from this wonderful place. This was the first time that she was ever away from home and deep down, she wanted something to show for her travels It would be so neat to find something cool here to take back with her.
Aminah rushed her along and led her to a stall with an Alkidike. Sathe had never met one and was surprised by this one's eye color. She heard that they had black eyes. This one was strange.
Aminah lifted her onto her hip, letting Sathe's legs swing in the air. She could see everything from up here. She tilted herself forward, balancing on Aminah to get a better look at the weapons on the table. Did this Alkidike make all of these? She tugged on Aminah's shirt and waited for her turn to speak. "I don't think I'm old enough to get any of these..." She trailed off. She really hoped Aminah wasn't thinking of getting her any of these for her to take back, her mother would be so mad.

Tau sighed heavily into the air. The Jauhar humidity was oppressing. He'd never felt anything like it. He'd never left Tale to tell the truth, and with weather like this, he wasn't sure he wanted to again after this. His parents had thought that it would be good for him to go join this tournament, and they came with to his dismay. The only upside was that they had taken his little brother and had gone off into the stands to see what all the hubbub was about.
He turned once more in the crowd, trying to see at least one familiar face, and he spotted it. How could he miss her when she was so tall?
He should have guessed that she would be near the food stalls. To tell the truth, he hadn't eaten yet today anyways and could use a bite. Maybe she was up for a bite together. Should be; what else would be more enjoyable for her? He sauntered up to Vollerei and poked Zweil from behind, scooping him up into Tau's hands. "I knew you'd miss me."

Niabi squirmed awkwardly in her seat. She felt so lame sitting all by herself when everyone was walking around looking at all of the amazing things around her. She had told herself that she needed to travel and now that she had finally managed it - even if it was with her mothers' prodding - she was sitting around like an idiot.
She stood abruptly, maybe too abruptly, there were some around her that looked her way before returning to their business, and awkwardly walked to one of the booths, checking out the things the woman was offering. Some of the things were just plain odd and obviously not from Jauhar. She picked up a strange crystal to look at it before being yelled at by the woman behind the table. Apparently, it was a look and don't-touch-unless-you-buy kind of store. Niabi put the thing down with a heavy hand and squeaked an apology before going on her way once more. She wandered to another stall further down and looked at all of the furs on the table. They were beautiful. Most of them were white, and it was what she assumed snow would look and feel like. So soft. She stroked her finger along them and wanted to just nuzzle them up to her face.

Liira sat at her chair, grumpily eyeballing all that walked passed. She might have to sit here and make the transactions, but she sure as hell didn't have to be friendly. Her tiny frame stretched out in the chair and she pushed her feet onto the table.
A large Alkidike girl stopped at her booth after being yelled at by a woman further down; apparently this one didn't learn lessons very well. She stroked her hands all over the furs and hadn't seemed to notice Liira staring at her, more like shooting darts at her face, but to her it was the same thing.
"So are you gonna buy something or what? You're getting your greasy prints all over the furs."
