(warning, this will spoil at least one announcement from the opener, but it's not fair to make this person wait) Fall Back hits the PA and the crowd cheers as the owner of DHW steps out onto the stage, still dressed in street clothes and once again carrying his sledgehammer. He makes his way to the ring quickly and takes up a mic. "OK, so we're a little more into the evening and I've got a huge surprise for everyone. Earlier tonight, as you all know, I suspended Harli indefinitely. You piss off the boss and that's what you get. But let's move on because frankly no one gave a damn after they heard he was suspended anyway. I certainly didn't. So let's talk about the main event at Summer Battlefield. Originally, it was set to be Snypa Rifle vs Cyrus Leone vs Hiro vs Harli. Well, Harli's suspended so he's out. And I always strive to outdo myself. So I've already replaced him. Little does he know, but his replacement signed on the dotted line before the main event last week and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to put him right where he belongs." Drako grins slightly. "See, I've signed someone that is not under contract to any other federation, not WWFG, EWA, WWE:E, or LWL. Actually, make that two people. So, let's get a few things out in the open. One of these two men will be in action tonight, and he'll go head to head with one of the men still in the main event of Summer Battlefield. That person goes head to head with Hiro tonight, but he's not here yet so I'm not telling who he is. All you need to know is he's the longest reigning XCW Undisputed champion in history, which FYI is sure the hell not Chrono or Malice, whatever he was calling himself at the time, because his reign was actually short. No, this is the true longest reigning champion, and the only person to hold the XCW Undisputed, Intercontinental, and tag team titles at the same time. I'll let you figure out who that is, but let's get to someone else, someone that will be replacing Harli in the main event of Summer Battlefield. Now this man is something of a legend. He hasn't graced a ring anywhere in several years. He's spoken of in reverence because he was just so impactful. He could possibly be called an icon, someone that other federations have tried and failed to get to make a return in recent years. But he is here tonight, in the St Charles Family arena." the crowd is getting antsy. they want to see the new arrival. "He is a five time world champion, a nine time tag champion with some very memorable teams. He has compete in and been champion in federations such as EEW, SCW, WWFG, SWA, and GCW just to name a few. But enough with all the hype. It's time for him to come on out." Drako looks to the stage and waits

It is then a song plays over the speakers in the arena. An old tune filled with torpor that hadn't been heard in years. The twanging guitar brought some to their feet, then nearly all as they were reminded that once upon a time, there was a "Fear of a Blank Planet". The one who came from such a place and held such fear was nothing more than a Shadow of men. Yet, here he was. At the top of the ramp stood the man called Shadow. Age had made him slightly grey, the lines of his face more defined, the heavy glasses that adorned his face held eyes filled with experience and contempt for those he graced. The roar of the crowd was deafening. His old entrance music walked with him down the ramp to the ring, where he once dominated. He climbed the steps and stepped between the ropes to the center where he was rained with cheers and the shock of everyone in the arena. Old green eyes passed over all the faces, old memories coming to his mind that no one would ever know of. Fit for his age, bearing scars of his career, a mic was given to him and after the music finally died, amongst chants of "Sha-dow!" he turned to Drako and raised the mic to his lips. "Well, fancy seeing you here, Drako."

Drako gives a nod.
"Now, Shadow, it's been a few years since you've been around. I'm not sure how up to date you keep with the scene but I just ran through some of your accolades. You're here tonight, and Sunday at Summer Battlefield you'll be replacing Harli in the main event for the DHW Heavyweight championship. There are three opponents for you in a four way elimination match where anything goes. Your old student, Snypa Rifle, the Dream, Cyrus Leone, and Hiro. Couple of former world champs, some you know, maybe one you don't know so well. You're coming in as a returning legend, and maybe the odds on favorite. So, anything to say about your opponents, or maybe to a crowd that hasn't seen you in a while?"

"Do I have anything to say?"
He turned towards the crowd and unloaded. "Do I have anything to say to a crowd that made me the way I am today?" They weren't sure where he was going with this. "A crowd who have been against me for most of my career? Who cheered when I was thrown in a flaming dumpster? Who stood on their feet as day in and day out I threw my body into hell and bloodshed for the sake of a paycheck? Yeah, I have something to say: I'm not back here for you."
The heat of old scorched the ring as Shadow turned back to Drako. "I don't know if anyone here notices or cares, but I'm not as young as I used to be. I can't fly around like my younger days. I can't lift the big guys anymore because both of my knees are practically made of metal balls and plastic. My laundry list of injuries that I fought throw to pay the bills finally krept up to me, and frankly, my time is limited. So I'm not here to waste it on pleasing anyone here except me."
"As for my opponents? Well, with the exception of Hiro "Nothing To See Here Folks", Snypa and Cyrus aren't anyone special. Though compared to "Flash In the Pan" Hiro, I would say I could see Snypa and Cyrus wanting to prove themselves again, but that's just an old man's opinion." He shrugged as he turned to the angry audience.
"I'll say another thing: I don't keep up with how things are because I stopped caring ages ago. It was the same ol' people getting the same ol' matches and management kissing the same asses and letting talentless hacks like Hiro get matches they didn't deserve. People who ran around thinking they were gods among men, people who thought they would waltz right it and get a world title match, people who were cutthroat even for my taste. And I got tired of that. I'm still tired of it. In fact, I'll just say, I'm tired of the thought my legacy and the legacy of others I respected are left to the hands of incompetent people, like all of you... and people like Hiro."

I was not created In the likeness of a fraud Your hell is something scary I prefer a loving god We are not the center Of this funny universe And what is worse I do not serve In fear of such a curse
Shallow be thy Game 2000 years look in the mirror You play the game of shame And tell your people live in fear
A rival to the way you see The bible let him be I'm a threat to your survival And your control company In a flash, Orange and Black lights flickered on and off around the arena, accompanied by some pyro shooting out from the sides of the titantron. "Shallow Be Thy Game" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers blasted out of the speakers and filled the arena with some classic Anthony, Flea, and Navarro. A few moments later, Hiro Shin-Mozas came out from the back, getting a roar of applause. "The Fallen Hero" didn't seem to be in the greatest of moods, however the smile on his face was as big as it always was. Funny how Shadow had managed to bring up 'gods among men', seeing as how Hiro's entire theme song denounced any and all gods. He made his way down the ramp, high fiving a few fans while tugging up on his tights. Hiro seemed to look a little disappointed, as if he knew it would be Shadow all along, but expected something better from the man. Reaching the ring, Hiro pulled himself up onto the apron, and enter the ring. He walked over to the corner closest to the time keeper, and a crew member rushed him over a microphone. The music started to die out, and the cheers conflicted with the boos that were meant for Shadow was all that could be heard. "Needless to say...I'm about as shocked as all of the people in this arena, as well as most likely every other member of our profession is at this very moment. Ladies and Gentlemen, the man that you are currently booing right now is Shadow, a legend of professional wrestling. No one has really seen or heard from the guy in a few years, and it's understandable as to why! He's obviously an a*****e! See, Shadow, I used to be such a serious a*****e. Yes, used to. Sorry, I just felt like I'd need to reiterate that before someone screamed "you still are". When I was an a*****e, nothing ever went my way, like, ever. I was the self-proclaimed "Most Hated Man in Gaia History", and now, I am rebuilding myself. I am the "Fallen Hero", but I don't intend on staying down for much longer. As a matter of fact, the rise back to the top was slated to begin at Summer Battlefield, where I am going to become the DHW World Champion. However, it looks like things just got a lot more difficult than just beating an aging Aussie and two men who live and breathe the past. It's a damn shame that you came out here and had to be such a d**k, cause I was really hoping I was gonna be able to come out here and shake your hand and become your friend, because I have always been such a big fan of your work. However, it looks like you managed to prevent that by saying the wrong things. So, allow me to make this perfectly clear: Just because I have respect for these fans doesn't mean that I am going to be any less aggressive with other people. You, Shadow, just made yourself a grand enemy, I can promise you that. Hiro lowered the microphone from his mouth, and he started to pace about the ring, the fans cheering the last few words that escaped his mouth. "Alright Shadow, I just took a moment to go over what you just said. Let's see...You hate people who think they are gods among men...I agree, I hate them too! Just listen to my theme song! However, I hate one in particular, and he knows who he is. The other two...they are just victims of being foolish. I see that you also don't like people who think they can waltz in and get world title matches...ehhhh....Yeah. Pretty sure that Drako brought you in here to give you a world title match. I mean, if you really mean what you say, I shouldn't keep you! You oughta go home right now and start slitting your wrists and crying about how much you hate yourself! Go ahead! Go! I don't wanna stop you! Hell, don't even show up at Summer Battlefield! It'll only make things worse! I am only doing this for you because I care about you dude, you're a former idol of mine!" Hiro lowered the microphone once more and chuckled a bit, the fans joining in on the chuckling. He had been very sarcastic and a little mean spirited, but it was all in good fun for Hiro. He was merely mocking the rude and hostile way that Shadow had been acting.

"I would go home, Hiro, but I can't bring myself to do that now."
A sudden change to jeers and taunts brought Shadow's eyes to meet Hiro's.
"I barely remember who you are to be honest. It's great and all that you liked me so much, or hated me, I couldn't tell what you were saying from the muffled sounds of your head up your own a**."
"See, I dealt with guys like you all the time: reformed or delusional men, sometimes both, who come out here and say things to me they can't deliver on just so they could try to ruffle my feathers and use me as a stepping stone. They all failed, Hiro. It's how I can still be here, not to win some World Title, though that'll be one hell of a story I wouldn't mind reading about. 'A Shadow of the Past Wins World Title', that'd catch headlines. No, I'm here because I want to see what kind of punishment I can take to further distance my legacy from greedy kids like you."
Shadow got right in Hiro's face. "I'm an old forsaken man, kid, but I'm more dangerous than I've ever been, because I don't care about you, and even less about me. And if you even think you're walking out a champion at Summer Battlefield, you've haven't done enough research on me then."

Hiro was taken back a bit by Shadow's words. He didn't expect to have Shadow take his mocking seriously! "Lighten up a bit, bro! Dude, I dont need to use your decrepit career as a stepping stone for anything. Your legacy means nothing in a business where people like Salem Croft run rampant! They have no clue who you are! I mean, people hate you man! They actually hate you more than they hate me! I can't even think about what to say to you, because seriously, I don't think that these people deserve to hear about the past. They deserve better...to see the present. Talk is cheap, Shadow. You should know that. Why don't you bring your sagging skin and glass bones over here, and let me show you why this business doesn't want you to cast yourself over the real talent." With that, Hiro dropped the microphone, and unzipped his jacket, earning cheers from the crowd. It looks like the "Fallen Hero" is ready for a fight!

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!"
Before anything can go down, there's someone who wants to say something to Shadow...
And of course, it's an old friend or so Shadow would think.
"Shadow-sensei, you ain't changed a bit. Still grumpy and bitter at the world. Didn't you get that pack of razor blades and the note on how to properly use them I added in your Christmas card?" Snypa says, stepping into view.
"Or the Christmas before that when I sent that book with 32 methods on how to successfully commit suicide? Jeez, but since you're back, I guess I can point out that I got nothing to prove to you at Summer Battlefield and how the only thing you're walking out with is-- oh, wait- you won't be walking out at all when I'm done. Of course, the same goes for you, Hiro, and Cyrus Leone too."
Snypa makes his way down the aisle, up the stairs and into the ring.
"You want the DHW Championship? Then you'll have to take it off my cold, dead body. And boys, that's a long way off."

"That title is just a consolation prize, boy." He spat out the name as he eyed Snypa. "I'm too old for these pissing contests." He dropped the mic and rolled out of the ring, heading up the ramp to the jeers of the crowd.

"You can say that again, sensei. This is the first time we've never agreed on anything." Snypa moves to the ropes facing the entrance. "The real prize, Shadow-sensei? Your head on a pike. In my front yard. But since I'd like to wait until Summer Battlefield..."
With this, the Hardcore Kid quickly turns and attempts to Muta Hiro with a spray of Black Mist to the face, followed by a hard sit out spinebuster if successful.

and we've hit the part of the evening where the boss gets scarce. With the imminent brawl clearly starting, Drako ducks out of the ring and heads to the back. Let the active competitors duke it out

Hiro was none too happy, as he was looking to get into a fight with Shadow. However, the mist suddenly connected with his face! What a dirty trick from Snypa! The fans were not too happy with Snypa's actions, since they did like Hiro, but the cheers were still pretty rampant for the Hardcore Kid. Suddenly, Snypa connects with the Snipebuster, and Hiro lay there on the mat, not moving!

In a show of both respect and contempt for Shadow, Snypa looks to lock in the full nelson Camel Clutch- the Death Spire.

There was no grand entrance for the last competitor of the main event in Summer Battlefield. However, all of fans within the crowds recognized the hooded figure walking among the cheering masses, quickly making his way down to the ring. In his left hand, the man of Dreams carried his signature weapon, his steel chair wrapped in barbed wire. The hooded man quickly hopped the crowd barricade as soon as he reached it and immediately rolled into the ring. The Dream ran at Snypa as he tried to get Hiro into the submission, he was planning on catching the hardcore kid by surprise and drive his dangerous chair into the skull of the man who ended his winning streak within DHW!
