Biography: John Reynolds was born in Detroit, Michigan to Joesph and Catherine Reynolds, In 1964, His dad was a U.S. Marine platoon leader who served in Vietnam, unfortunately his father was captured when his unit walked into an ambush, while Joesph was getting his men out he was shot and wounded and subsequently captured. He spent the rest of the war imprisoned in what the troops dubbed the "Hanoi Hilton".The torture his dad endured turned his hair shock white and left his father a very changed man, he would frequently have nightmares and scare his mom. His mother was a Nurse at a local hospital when her husband was captured she lost all hope that he would come back alive, though she remained faithful and devoted to her husband. When He came back she helped John's father get over his traumatic experiences in the war. John hearing stories about his father's heroism during both the ambush and his imprisonment made John follow in his fathers footsteps and join the marines after he graduated high school. While in boot camp his senior drill instructor saw how intelligent, and how much of a natural leader John was and recommended him for O.C.S., when he graduated with the rank of 2nd lieutenant He was placed as 1st platoon leader of company Delta in the 2nd battalion/5th Marines, where he participated in numerous engagements including the rescue of an allied S.A.S. unit who's members had relatives in high places with the British government, for this action the queen had him knighted, eventually John rose to the rank of Captain. Late in the Gulf War he had been wounded, a piece of shrapnel from a Russian made RPG-7 blinded him in his right eye, so he was promoted to Major and made Battalion XO because the Marines felt they couldn't use him as a company commander anymore after his injury. After the war he was promoted up to Colonel and then when the SGC was created he was offered command of one of the 9 new teams minted from the program, he accepted and is now in command of SG-5
