Sleeper Pod duty. Not the worst job, but definitely one of the creepier ones. Hundreds and dozens of sleeping faces lined the rows of pods in the eerie room. It was one of those jobs best suited for thinking along and trying to ignore the spooky surroundings, or distracting yourself with company.
Otto was glad said company was in the form of Molly today. Otto pointedly ignored most of the faces dozing around him. His gaze focused on the ground and sometimes the ceiling. He'd only ever been on pod duty once where one of the sleepers actually woke up. So more often than not it was just a job that took too long to end.
"They need a damned radio in here."

Molly was often on Sleeper Pod Duty, kitchen duty, or the Underwater Observation post…which is why she was a rare thing to be seen as of late. Today was a good day though, because she was paired up with someone she knew and adored! The curly haired hunter looked up from her patching up of a certain Sun trainee’s hoodie, and smiled at Otto.
“That would be nice!” She agreed. “Not only for those on duty, but for the sleepers as well…” She trailed off for a moment, looking down a row of pods before she looked back at the hoodie. “Do you think they dream?”

"Dream?" Otto gave the girl a quirked brow, still not looking too long at any of the sleepers. "I dunno. Do you remember dreaming in here? Cause I sure don't." The boy did have a knack for killing the fun out of a peaceful thought.

At his, very good, question, Molly paused and thought about it.
“Mmm, I guess not!” She chirped, and resumed sewing. “Still…I think music would be nice…” Molly trailed off for a moment. “Do you dream now, Otto? Now that you’re out of the pod, I mean.”

Molly was smart. Otto should have brought something in as busy work. Like a book or something. Damnit.
"Hm?" Otto flopped onto the floor, legs sprawled out in front of him and leaned back on his hands. "Course I do. Nothing ever good, but yeah.." Nightmares were more like it. He assumed most everyone had there own demons to battle while sleeping.
"Don't you? I mean, its a totally human thing to do.."

Molly’s brows furrowed worriedly as she listened to Otto. “Nothing good?” She echoed. “I’m sorry…”
At his question, Molly laughed. “Not a lot!” She informed him. “I’ve ever had a handful since I woke up, which is alright…but the last dream I had was really nice! I dreamed that I had a little house on the beach with a little picket fence, and all the canon cats were playing in the yard.” Molly smiled fondly. “I really liked that.”

"What is with you and canon cats. It's like they're yer spirit animal or somethin'." Otto didn't really like mini pets. Animals in general he didn't know how to deal with. He'd only ever really played with his grandpa's dog when he was little. And that one always knocked him over all the time.
Hm.. maybe that was what started it.
"I always hear that dreams are like a messed up part of your subconscious trying to tell you somethin."

Molly giggled. “I love canon cats!” She exclaimed. “They’re adorable and so energetic!” She paused in patching up the hoodie to look up at Otto, her lips parted briefly before she hummed softly. “Really?” Her brows furrowed, and she leaned towards the boy, lowering her voice to a whisper.
“What do you think your dreams are trying to tell you?”

"Too energetic. If they ever get out of their pens, I hope I'm off island for it." He could only imagine the chaos. Imagining it was tiring, let alone the real thing.
Otto stared at Molly as she leaned in, his brows fallen flat across his eyes. "They say that I'm screwed." He replied, deadpan. "All they really do is replay all the s**t I've seen before. Either my own mind is tryin' to troll me, or it's broke."
"You seriously don't get nightmares? Lucky to be you, geez." Maybe Molly hadn't seen or been through as much. How she managed to avoid the torment had to be a gift. "If I dreamed about cats, they'd probably just scratch me and knock s**t over."

“Oh dear!” Molly seemed worried at the thought. “I sure hope they don’t get out of their pens! If they were out for too long…something bad would happen to them.” Oh that’s right…Molly didn’t care about the havoc they would cause…just that they would explode if out of their pens for too long.
“..Aww.” Molly reached out and pet Otto’s beanie covered head, though at his question, Molly momentarily paused and the smile fell from her face. Nightmares. One came to mind…one she had not long after she woke up, and before that haunting echo of a young voice could start, Molly distracted herself.
“You should come play with the canon cats with me sometime.” She announced, her smile back. “Remember when we were clearing out the Life Labs together, and we talked about sleepers and canon cats?”

"You gotta check your priorities." Otto commented with minor worry. Canon Cats seemed to take priority over Hunter chaos with her. The derpy, fuzzy faces of those felines did nothing for Otto.
His gaze lingered on Molly for a moment. He could have sworn she looked different just then. However, it quickly lifted and once again she said something very silly. Otto rolled his eyes in teenage magnificence. "No, I don't remember. Why would I wanna play with those furballs?"

“…I do?” Molly asked, going a bit wide eyed. Were her priorities not to Deus standards? Oh dear.
“Oh, because they’re so fun! They love string and balls and scratching posts…and it’s really relaxing to brush them!” After you wrapped them up like a burrito and made them succumb to brute force. She then leaned closer to Otto, and the look she gave him could only be described as kira-kira. “And we’d be able to spend more time together! I do so enjoy your company.” She beamed brightly.

"None of those things sound fun." Ever more did he spew his pessimism over the subject, until Molly leaned in really close. Sparkling eyes, pleasing for compliance and magical words to end it off. The teen groaned, writing on the spot. But he didn't waaaant toooooo~.
He pouted some more, grumpy eyes squinted at the woman. ".....Fine."

“YAY!” Molly cried, throwing her hands into the air…sadly this caused Jeremy’s hoodie, her thread and needle to go flying as well. “…OH NO!” Was the next thing Molly cried out, and she was quick to get to her feet and scramble after the things. She collected them, and luckily didn’t lose her needle either.
She settled back down on her seat, and smoothed out the hoodie on her lap fondly.
“…I met Jeremy right as my sleeper pod duty ended, actually.” She mused happily.

Otto flinched at Molly's exuberance, curling inward as he watched the sewing go flying. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he;d been holding once Molly returned with said hoodie and needle, huffing with a glare.
"You don't say.." He grumbled as he settled again, looking at the hoodie she seemed to be fixing. "Think maybe the pod deprived him of oxygen and that's why he's a loony toon?"
