Twinkleshine sat on the small patio of the, or rather her, house, looking out to the lake's horizon. Her hand rested on her stomach, now clearly showing the presence of little ones within, as she thought to herself. How long had it been since Atlantis had left? Three days? A week? Two weeks? The time had seemed to blend together, as so many things had been left unanswered. Her daughter refused to even acknowledge her and seemed to threaten on a daily basis to leave after Aella and Lust; her friend had admitted his feelings for her before disappearing to the waters. She hadn't seen him since.

One thing was for certain, she had to let Ocie know about this new development. Surely he would be more comfortable visiting the children without the other naiad present. Maybe? If nothing else, he could help her bounce ideas about what to do with her daughter, not that she would be too keen to have anything to do with him. It wouldn't be surprising if he wanted nothing to do with her either after the last time...

User ImageOcie rubbed his neck, leading the female his mother had dropped off with him towards the place Twinkle had claimed to live. He shuddered to think about everything that happened that day. And his children were going to be living with another naiad... Ocie didn't like that thought in the slightest, but he couldn't say anything about it. This is where Twinkle lived, and Ocie had nowhere to take her other than into the waters.

The sprite glanced to Sammy, yeah, that was her name, and pointed to the house just a little way in the distance. "We're going there." He nodded towards it. Clearly Leitha had been lax in teaching her anything. The poor girl barely knew any language at all. And she was probably expecting him to teach her how to fly. Of course she was, he had wings and was almost flaunting them in front of her. It's not his fault that he has to use them to walk... He was grumbling mentally.

Sammy kept quiet, plucking at the pin feathers that were itching her chest so badly. It felt like she was molting and all she could do was poke at herself. Anything more than that would result in bleeding and lots of it. The harpy jumped, freaking out a little when Ocie told her where they were heading.

"Home?" She asked, looking at the winged fish thing. They had been traveling so long she didn't even know where she was supposed to sleep at night. She only hoped there was something with a lot of stringy things and parts. She liked stringy things and parts.

Twinkleshine was still looking to the ocean, unsuspecting that her boyfriend would actually be arriving from the land, not to mention with another. She looked to the house with a sigh, hoping that, some day, Sparrow would learn to just accept all of it and move on. Was it really such a big deal for her? Sure, she had loved Atlantis perhaps as a father, but that didn't mean she couldn't befriend Ocie as well. It was no sin to do so.

It was probably the age combined with the absence of her closest friend that made her act in this way. Yeah... Probably... Hopefully that was all it was...

Ocie rubbed his neck once more, looking at the girl. He really wanted to give her an answer. Knowing Twinkle, it was probably going to be Sammy's new home, even if Ocie wasn't welcome in it. But then, she seemed to surprise him constantly, so who knew what was going on. His red eyes looked away from the brightly colored teen.

"Yeah, it's home." He finally just conceded. He'd be around often enough to take care of her. It wasn't going to be the end of the world. Just the end of his life. Ocie sighed a bit, noticing a white figure on the patio. Twinkle must be waiting for him. It was going to be a bit of a shock for her to see him come to her on land rather than in the water.

"Twinkleshine?" He called, trying to alert her to his presence.

Sammy squeaked, excited that she finally had a home. Leitha had never let them stay in one place too long. It wasn't something Sammy wanted to keep doing, but it let her see a lot of the isle that way. The bird did know where most of the streams and rivers led to thanks to it though.

"Home!" She squeaked again, still excited. She really hoped that the place was full of stringy fun stuffs.

Turning at the voice, Twinkleshine had to use her (amazing) acting skills to keep her from looking dumbfounded, not only at the fact that Ocie came by land, but by the girls walking beside him. She seemed an even more brightly-colored of Sparrow and Aella's kind, and of a similar age as well.

How... strange... She couldn't recall him ever having mentioned a daughter. In fact, it seemed quite contrary to the fact. Perhaps she was a friend's?

Smiling, she replied, "Hey Ocie, how are you?" Motioning to her belly, she continued, "Look, they're getting bigger!" Her excitement was clear from her tone and the way she proudly showed them off. Looking over at Sammy, she addressed whichever one would answer. "Who is this? You never told me that one of your friends had a daughter like Sparrow."

Ocie grinned. Hopefully they were his children growing inside of her. For all he knew, Twinkle could have been doing the exact same thing with Atlantis as she had been with him. Ocie would never accuse her of it. Not in a million years, he cared about the beings in her stomach more than he ever could his own pride. Even if they weren't his.

"You look amazing Twinkle!" He called back.

He reacted a little nervously when she mentioned Sammy. That was a long story. He didn't really want to get into it, but Twinkle deserved to know what she was getting into.

"This... Isn't my friend's daughter. This is my sister." Ocie frowned a bit. Apparently his mother liked winged creatures. "I don't think my mother gave birth to her, but she is as good as my sister. And she's mine to raise now apparently.." He sighed, looking up at Twinkle.

Sammy frowned, petting Ocie's back. He looked hurt when she was pushed onto him. Ocie wasn't the only one hurt by what the fish lady did. Sammy loved the fish lady. Even when she couldn't eat the fish lady. "Coconut makes better." She nodded, hair falling all over the place. Sammy was honest and true a mess.

"Your... sister?" Well, wasn't this an interesting development. "Oh, so she's going to be living with us?" That would be fun at least! The more the merrier, right? Sparrow would probably be fine with sharing her room with her at least; if not, oh well! "Actually, I had something to talk to you about concerning the house..." She fidgeted slightly, hoping Ocie wouldn't think he had driven the owner out, even if he kinda had.

He nodded, not exactly willing to talk about his predicament involving his sister and his soon to be born children that might not be his.

"Is there something wrong with the house? Do I need to try and build one on a shore?" He asked, instantly worried. He refused to let his children have the kind of childhood he and his sister had apparently been subjected to. They deserved a place to live. A place where they belonged and fit in. Something he still didn't have.

Sammy squawked. She was going to have a house to live in? She hoped there were coconut trees nearby! "Coconuts?" She asked, looking up to the chubby lady. The harpy almost couldn't wait to go looking for trees to nest in or to climb on. She wanted to stretch her wings, or at the very least find a nice little spot to nest. It was right next to the water too! Oh she was excited! What was better than getting to take a fresh bath with coconuts and stringy stuffs? Nothing, that's what!

Twinkleshine laughed, shaking her head. "No, no, not anything like that!" A pause. "Well... Atlantis won't exactly be living here anymore. After I told him I was pregnant, he... kinda... broke down and decided to return to the sea." She looked to her hands, twiddling her thumbs. "He said I could keep the house, but that he couldn't live in the same place as my children from another man..."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 24, 2013 7:48 pm

"Stay close Sammy." He called to the harpy, turning his full attention to Twinkle. Atlantis wasn't living there anymore? How was that anything but a good thing? Ocie couldn't see too much of a downside to the entire situation. Aside from Atlantis maybe not seeing kids that might be his.

"Sounds like he's an a** Twinkle..." He frowned, looking at her. "You're better off without him." The sprite offered, reaching out to wrap her into his arms. Sure, she'd be living alone, but he'd be there as often as he could manage.

"Well, I feel really bad about the whole thing..." She sighed, still looking at the thumbs she twiddled. "Apparently he liked me the entire time and that's why he had this place even built: to be closer to me. I just feel really bad for never noticing it." She looked up, shrugging. "I mean, I've never felt anything towards him than the love of a great friend, but still... It kinda feels like I led the poor guy on, you know?"

It may have been the hormones or the stress that made her more emotional than usual, but she had to bite her lip to try and keep tears back. "Sparrow sure thinks I did so, and on purpose even! She hasn't spoken to me since he left except to say that she's going to go find someone and leave too... I just feel like a really, really horrible person..."

Ocie pulled Twinkle into his arms. This was the mother of what could be his children. At the very least he needed to comfort her. "Well, he did basically give you a house Twinkle, there should have been a hint or two there... But I don't think you did it on purpose. You're not that kind of girl." He pet her gently. She was a sweet fauny.

"Sparrow is a teen. An angsty teen at that. She'll get over it one day. Who knows, maybe Sammy will help her with that?" He offered. "You're a wonderful lady Twinkle. There's just a lot of rough stuff going on in your life at the worst possible time."

As she was pulled into him, her arms lifted to wrap around him, pulling him closer. "The house wasn't given to me until after he left; before then I just stayed in a room. That's what I thought it was; just a nice friend helping out another friend in need by lending them a place to stay. I cooked and cleaned and walked to the tree and back with necessities. I thought that was like rent or something..." Oh boy, here came the tears. "How do you know she will? You know what she did to you, what if she lashes out against the babies too? I don't know what to do!" She loved her daughter but, after how violently she had reacted, there was also fear towards her.

Ocie rubbed his healing wounds absentmindedly. Twinkle had unknowingly led Atlantis on. Ocie was well aware of it. But it didn't drop his suspicions of her sleeping with him behind Ocie's back.

"If she attempts to lash out at our children Twinkle, I'll actually defend myself as well as our babies." He frowned, knowing how she could thrash. He'd been on the receiving end of Sparrow's talons. Of course, he hadn't defended himself. Ocie felt it was deserved. "I'm better at defending than you'd think."

If she only knew how little Ocie seemed to trust her and her loyalty, she'd likely tell him to leave and not return. It would be an insult unlike any other, unforgivable even.

Thankfully, however, he made no notion of this distrust and continued on regardless. "But... I love her, just like I will love them... I... I don't know..." Honestly, she wasn't so sure that he -would- be able to defend himself against the girl, even if he tried. She had just seemed to completely overpower him, almost as if he were the child and she the adult. If the bird truly had wanted him dead, Twinkleshine was certain that he would not be sitting next to her at this moment.
