The little gorgon ghoul was ready to GO! She kept running into things and people, though, because her attention was more on what was around her than where she was going. In fact she bumped into something rather soft and round as she was staring up at the campus building--and looked up curiously. "Hello!" she said with a wide smile, having to take a step back to see the person's face. Her hair--several snakes that looked just as curious as her--and could look in more directions at once than she could, all looked up as well, tiny rattling noises coming from their tails that laid against Meddy's head. "You're very tall," she said. "Did you eat something special to get that tall? And big? What are you, anyway? You have nice wings! I wish I had wings, my cousins have them! Can you show me around? My name's Meddy! What's yours?"

Muka had heard they needed some guides around campus. He wasn't sure he was equipped for any sophisticated guiding or complicated questions but the strix had decided to help once he'd learned it was only scarelings. How bad could it really be? He'd sent a note to Needle to invite her along and then dressed in his most kid-friendly outfit. His suit was very dark and sleek but his waistcoat, buttoned tight across his round belly, was a bright pattern of pink skulls swirled with black and gold paisley and each skull had tiny beaded eyes. The beads were iridescent and shimmered almost like the eyes were glowing. He figured a scareling might like it since... well he loved to stare at it too! The strix was watching the crowd of children and stroking his beard when he felt something bump into his stomach. "Hello!" He grinned in response and plopped his large hand flat on top of the ghoul's head. It was like a pat.. but he never lifted it. Just held her there. He hadn't noticed the snakes until they were winding around his fingers. "Ooooooh hee hee.. I eat all of the things." His sharp teeth snapped in what he thought was a teasing way. "My name is Muka, little Miss Meddy, and I am a strix! What are you? Your hair looks del-" he paused, tapped a talon on his chin in thought, and corrected himself, "lovely. I will most definitely show you around!" He flared his giant wings for effect except a few of the shy children seemed to yelp. Oops.

"Del--" she looked at him a bit wide eyed as her mind provided the word he had stopped himself from saying. "Thank you!" she said, since clearly it was a compliment in either case from a boil that ate everything, right? "I make sure they are very well fed," she explained with a nod. Her hair was a very big source of pride for her! "I would like to see EVERYTHING!" she said eagerly, her eyes drawn back and forth from the shiny, shiny vest to the big wings--"May I take a picture of you?" she asked, fumbling to get her backpack off and dig out her old fashioned camera. "Please? Then can we go see everything?" His vest was so shinnnnyyyyy. In fact her hair was still staring up at him in awe as she tried to get the camera ready. It weighed a TON.

"Ah.. hrrm.. of course." A picture? People didn't often ask to photograph him. Muka had only ever been involved in formal photos so he felt slightly at a loss for what to do with himself in a candid shot. The strix adjusted his pose several times and made a few odd expressions before settling on his usual giant grin and simply tucking his hands into his suit-coat pockets. "How's this.. hrm? Or ah.. heh.. would you like to get in and we can have someone else take it?"

Her eyes lit up and she smiled up at him brilliantly before asking a random stranger to take their picture. A few seconds later she was holding a picture of her and the strix with a happy expression. "I will show this to my cousins! They will be so jealous of your wings!" she said as she tucked the picture and the poloroid type camera in her bag. "Now we can go somewhere! Where do you like to go?" she asked him, reaching up to take his hand.

So jealous? This little ghoul was doing horrible things to Muka's almost non-existent ego. He puffed up like the flashy birdy he was being made out to be and grinned even brighter. His hands were fairly large compared to hers so he did his best not to harm Meddy with his talons. "Well there's a different dorm building for, hrm, all species. I live in the monster dorms! High up in the tower with the other winged creatures." You could see most of the buildings from where they stood so he pointed it out. "You would probably be there too! Everyone gets a dorm that, heheh, is special just for them." He started to walk. "What do you think you would have in your room, little miss?"

"Oooh... minipets! My room would have plenty of minipets and candy and no mirrors--because it's dangerous to have mirrors for a gorgon," she decided. "Let's see your dorm!" she added, wanting to know if it was full of shiny clothing like he was wearing. "So I can have more ideas!" Her snake hair was looking around again, hissing happily as they started out. "Are there lots of monsters in the school?" she asked him. "Do they spend much time with the other species? All I know are monsters--are reapers really bad people cuz they look like humans? Do you know any ghosts? I've always wanted to meet a ghost!"

Did all scarelings ask so many questions? Muka didn't mind really but he wondered if this ghoul took any breaths between her rambles of statements. Even so, he found her rather cute. "Well my dorm is rather far but ah..heh.. I think there are some open ones for the tours." He made that up. If there weren't he'd just bust into someone else's room and use them as an example. "There are lots of other monsters of all kinds! Big, small, ah hee aquatic, winged, firey.." He waved his hand as if to say 'and so on'. "Oh yes I know some ghosts! In fact," Muka giggled and squeezed her little hand. "My ghoulfriend is a ghost and I also have a friend who is a mirror ghost... " He clacked his teeth momentarily. "Perhaps you should not meet her.." They were now in the center of where the dorm buildings were spaced. "Would you like to pick one or shall we screamie-meanie-grimey-toe?"

"You have a ghoulfriend??" she said, her eyes lighting up expectantly. "A ghost ghoulfriend?? Oh my jack, ohmyjack, that's SO ROMANTIC!!" she squealed, jumping up and down, her hands clasped over her heart. "Interspecies love--FORBIDDEN LOVE! Ohmyjackohmyjack--how did you meet her? Do your parents know? Is it a scandalous love story??" she asked. "Oh, and I would like to see the monster dorms," she added before going right back to her new obsession. "I bet your ghoulfriend is BEAUTIFUL! She is, isn't she? I'm sure she is!"

Muka almost disputed the 'forbidden love' claims from the little ghoul but the more he thought about it, the more it seemed appropriate. At least from Needle's end of things. He was more than happy to tell her about their romance though, as they walked towards the monster dorms. "Well I needed a prom date but did not know many ah.. ghouls. And she was also seeking a date so we decided, though we had just met, to give it a try!" Muka snickered. "It wasn't all very ah..heh.. romantic to begin? More of a social experiment but hah.. it has worked out!" Perhaps he wasn't good with romantic storytelling. "My family knows." He held his fingers to his lips though, bringing the bubbly little gorgon in on the conspiracy, "But her family does not.. so shhhhhh!" Right at the door of the dorms he produced a picture from a wallet inside of his jacket. It was the prom photo from last year. Needle looked pale and lovely as always and Muka was much thinner and with much less of a beard. "Here she is."

"Would her family not approve?" Meddy asked, clearly enthralled--and building a massive story up in her mind based on his tiny bit of information. And then! Then he showed her a picture! "She is ever so lovely!" she said, clasping her hands at her chest. "This is so very romantic, I cannot imagine! Was Prom beautiful? Was that where you discovered that you loved each other desperately?" Desperately? Seriously, Meddy?

"Yes of course that's how it happened!" Muka didn't mind encouraging the ghoul's romantic illusions. "And prom is very fun. There's games and dancing and FOOD! Hee.." He patted his large stomach again before holding the dorm door for the ghoul. Thankfully he was not too far off about there being a dorm room already set aside for them to look at. A boil he didn't know, who was closest to the entrance, had his room opened for viewing. He was some sort of cat-monster judging by his swishing tail and his room was customized with perches and dangly things to play with. They also were not the only pair in there and some of the children were climbing on the oversized cat trees in the room. "As you can ..ah.. see, each dorm is designed for the student. Mine has high rafters for all the bird minis." He giggled. "And I have a balcony so I can fly straight out of my room!"

Meddy looked around with huge eyes, slowly walking into the room and--rather than climbing over everything--started to LOOK at everything, as if memorizing it all. "So they go in for each student and create the perfect room?" she asked, returning to Muka's side. "Is it based on their species or on their personal preferences? Do they do it before the students even get here, or do the students have to tell them how it should be? Do you know many monsters in this dorm?" she fired off questions one after the other. Her snake hair was still looking around curiously.

"I think so.." Muka scratched his chin because he honestly didn't know. He didn't even deal with any of the paperwork involved in his enrollment, his father did. "And just so you know.. every room has hee, special accomodations for minipets!" He patted her.. snakes.. again. "I know that dragons get their treasure lairs and ah..hmm.. aquatic creatures can have pools and such." Muka grinned. "I believe it is the same in the other dorm buildings as well!" He then leaned to whisper, "The demons have the nicest rooms." He then offered her his hand if she wanted to move on.

She took the hand happily, following him out of the room. "What are the classes like?" she asked eagerly. "Is there a lot of interesting things to learn? Do you know more about the human world? Are they as strange as they sound?"
