He is still friendly though. Brief Bio: Nicholas has always been a bright man. When he went to college he had a pretty outgoing life but never really dated anyone, until a week before graduation when he went to a bar with his friends and met Lily. They were perfect for each other, both of them very successful, however, fate had it that they weren't to be together. Lily died and Nick shut down. He only dedicates his life to work and only speaks to his friends. He doesn't go out to bars or dates. It's almost a year since Lily's death. Appearance:

Like any other day, Nicholas was heading come from work, it was around 7 p.m. on a a Friday night, and even though he had been asked by his friends to go out with them. They all worried about him since he had been so quiet and different since he lost his fiance. Just as always, Nicholas rejected the offer and headed straight home. He was barely 26 years old and he already acted like an old retired and widowed man. Tomorrow was Lily's 1 year death anniversary.

And ending her day, Mai was heading home quickly. Today is one of those days that her mother cooks a delicious meal. Well, maybe because tomorrow is Lily's anniversary. Yeah, Lily died a year ago. Mai is still hurt from it, but she doesn't dwell on the fact she's physically gone because she's here.. Mentally, spiritually. She's never gone from anyone. She lives on in their hearts. And so, Mai commences the fact she is going to force Nick to come with.
Mai drove to where Nick usually works and stuff. She knows that he has changed..and it wasn't for the best. Mai knew him. It's Friday, he's going to sulk in his home. He needs company. And if she calls him, he'll ignore her. Mai got a bright idea, she'll meet him at his home. She took a turn and rushed to his home.

Nick was at his home when he heard the doorbell. He wasn't weeping like he did in the past, instead, he was just home watching movies and eating popcorn alone. Normally, he would expect his friends being the ones at his door since they would probably try, like always, to drag him out to a party or something, therefore he opened the door. "What do you guys want now?" though, as he opened the door he was quite taken by surprise that it was none other than Mai. He wasn't expecting her, at all. "Oh,... sorry, Mai. Come in." he said in that serious low tone of voice he usually spoke in. Why is she here? he wondered as he held open the door. He lived in the house that he had bought for Lily and himself. It was a nice home seeing as how he earned a lot of money. He had inherited a company from his deceased father and now he was the CEO.

Mai smiled at him. She knew that he wasn't expecting her at all. That was Mai. She tilted her head as she entered the house. It was bigger than her parents, but that was also expected from Nick and Lily's jobs. "Hiya Nicky~" She said with a big smile. She heard her heels click on the wood flooring. "Sooo," She said with a evil grin. She threw down her bag as she ran up to him and clung to him. "I've missed you, Nicky." She said, still on him. She dropped down from his body. "My parents were wondering if you wanted to have dinner with us." She said, wiping off his shirt. "And don't you dare say no. Or I will drug you and bring you anyway." She giggled then got serious. "They miss you, you know." She said, walking towards his living room. So do I... She thought to herself.

Nick only placed one arm around Mai when she embraced him. He had gotten out of much socializing with woman, even if they were family members. Good thing was that he got along with Mai and her parents, who would've become his parents-in-law. "I should get worried?" he said closing the door behind them and heading towards Mai. He stood tall and with a pretty neat appearance. His blonde hair covering part of his foreheads. "Hmm,... I don't want to be a bother. Tomorrow's is Lily's anniversary and probably the last thing they want is me near them." he said. Not that he had anything to do with Lily's death, but maybe he was a reminder to them. Especially since Lily had died while being 3 months pregnant. "How's everything? Do you want water or anything?" This was normal of him. He would always offer his guests something to drink or eat. At least that hadn't changed of him. He was still very friendly.

Mai gasped and stopped her walking and glanced over at a piece of art. She stroked it and turned to him. "I don't think you'll remind them of her. And if so, they wouldn't mind having memories of her, ya'know?" Mai continued walking to the living room as her tummy growled. "Or, we can just have our own little dinner.." She suggested to him. Mai sighed towards him. "Uh.. No. I'm not that thirsty.." She told him. "Or maybe you can stop being such a little brat and just interact with us." She said, grinning at him. She felt so comfortable around him. He was like her big brother.. And he would've if he married Lily. She walked back to him. "Either way, I have to go soon." She paused. "What will it be partner?"

It wasn't as if Nick had eaten properly again. His dinner had consisted of ramen soup again. He didn't know how to cook very well, and he lacked inspiration and attitude for it. "Fine... Just let me go change." he said. Nick came back dressed formally. He was the type of man who always dressed well, especially when going over to his, well to who were supposed to be his in-laws. "Ready. Should I take something? I don't want to go empty handed." It had been a long time since he had seen them. Plus, they didn't know the 3 months pregnant thing. Only he and Lily knew and her father. So he did feel guilty as well. Bringing a present would be the least he could do.

Mai clapped her hands really loud and jumped like a school girl. She waited for him to get dressed and when he looked so dapper. And as always Mai felt so happy to see him agreeing to this. She shook her head. "No.. You don't need to. My parents will be so happy that you're there." She said to him. Mai Peegen has own over the most stubbornest man on the face of this earth. She took his arm and dragged him to the front door, after turning off all the lights and stuff. And once he locked the door, Mai unlocked her car, they both climbed inside and she drove off to her home.
Only a few moments later, they arrived at her house. Her front door opened as she heard her mom's voice, "Mai? Is that you? What took you-" She paused when she saw Nicholas. "Oh.. Oh.. Dear!" She yelled to the door. She walked to him and touched him slightly. "Nick.. H-hey you." She smiled at him. She wasn't really old, she was just old enough to see wrinkles. Her once brown hair was slowly turning gray. About two minutes later the husband came out to see Nick. "My boy! I was wondering if you died or not." He exclaimed. Mai smiled. "I told you I can do it." She winked and threw the peace sign. "Daddy, you owe me twenty dollars." She hugged her father and kissed his cheek. "Ready for dinner, Nicky?" Mai asked him. The mother held his hand tightly, as she and the others all walked into the familiar household. The aroma of homecooked seasoned meatloaf kicked Mai out of her socks. She remembered this smell really well. Her mother only ever cooked it on special occasions. Mai and the family all took a seat and began taking some of the numerous food that was there.

Just like the first time Lily brought Nick to meet her parents, it was a nice sweet and warm welcoming. They were one of the nicest people on earth and he was glad that he had met them. He still felt though that he had no right to be there, after all, he didn't marry their daughter. They were nothing at all. No relation whatsoever. "Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Peegen. Though, I feel like I'm intruding. We aren't related what so ever..." It was embarrassing, though thankfully they knew that he appreciated them a lot, which is why he sent them that basket with goods on Christmas. They were like real family to him. It was always Mai who dragged him along in a lot of things. He understood what she was trying to do but he still felt like he shouldn't. His sorrow never did seem to go away. "The food looks delicious." he said as he too began serving himself some. The homemade food truly brought back some memories. Good memories. Nick did enjoy a good talk with Mr. Peegan. They usually spoke about businesses and investments. After all, Nick was indeed a CEO and could afford it. They always teased Lily saying she married well even though she herself had a quite wealthy family and a good job and studies. They truly had a future ahead of themselves. Mr. Peegan and Nick still did have some sort of businesses together, they would give advice to each other at times.

Mrs. Peegen smiled that signature smile at Nick as Mr. Peegen and Mai bumped into each other to get some mashed potatoes. "Oh, dear. It's fine. We're not going just to ignore you after the accident. You're apart of our lives now. And nothing can really change that." Mai looked at Nick and frowned quickly. Was he seeing through her plans? If so, that shouldn't change a thing. She will conquer that task of him smiling. Mai will do it. No matter what. "The food even tastes better." Mai commented quickly, masking her frown.
Mai ate her food in silence. She allowed her parents to talk to each other and Nick. Mai never really spoke at the table.. She was more a person to enjoy her food.. Or maybe because people usually never asked her anything. It was always about Lily and Nick. She wasn't jealous at them. She was more than happy for them. And she was used to it. And when dinner was done, her parents, Sibohan and Derek, both said to go home for bed since they both have work tomorrow. Mai kissed her parents bye. She then remembered what she needed. She told Nick to wait downstairs as she went to her old room and got what she needed.
Once she had it, she goodbye to her parents and she walked out with Nick. "Are you really tired, Nick? Because, if you aren't.. We can go hang at the park or your home. I dont need to go to work till mid-day tomorrow." She told him as they climbed in her car.

After thanking the Peegen's and enjoying a good conversation with them, the time to leave had finally arrived. He had invited them over for dinner next week either way so they would see each other again soon. He knew they enjoyed it when he talked to them. When he got on the car with Mai, he thought for a moment and nodded. He did have to work early tomorrow but it was fine he guessed. "Hmm, sure, but you shouldn't be out so late a night." Like an older brother would, Nick worried about Mai. Nick was an only child so he has always liked having children around him, and no, no *****. He just had hoped to have children... with Lily. Soon enough, they were outside his home at the park in front. Lily and him and chosen an environment friendly environment for when they had kids, hence the park in front and the quiet neighborhood. "So,... thanks for inviting me. I... I actually had a good time." he confessed, though his voice was still really serious. He still had no eyes or heart for no one that wasn't Lily.

Mai smiled at him. The neighborhood they lived in seemed suitable for children. Mai wanted to have a little Nicky running around.. But, hey, that never happened did it? Mai smiled brightly. "Really? Wow. I've accomplish one goal!" She exclaimed, holding the box tightly. She waited for him to open his door. And once they were inside. She smiled. "Do you want pictures? Or..?" She asked abruptly. "I took photos of her and you.. Mainly you two. Did you want them?" She didn't sugar coat it. "They're just sitting in my room, untouched. And I figured, who's to have them..besides well you?" Mai blinked several times, trying not cry. It was hard. Ever since she officially died, Mai hasn't shed a tear in public. In her own private moments, she did. And no one was stupid. They knew she did, or they didn't. Mai wasn't the one to show a lot of emotions. She knew she had to be strong. "Uhm, do you have any drinks? Like..alcoholic drinks?" She said with a small smile.
