CitrusCupcake

Lanzo had spent his morning being productive in the only way he knew how--training. It was always best to train first thing in the morning, as the air was more crisp and no one was awake to bother him. He felt great success in his abilities through all of his hard work overcoming challenges he had set for himself. Training had become somewhat of an obsession for him, and because he had no other hobbies, he continued to stay focused and better himself the only ways he knew how. There was something amazing about strength. The more he matured and aged, the more he liked being able to do whatever he wanted with his massive body.

He also trained constantly because he was tired of his mother yelling at him for being alone all of the time. It kept him busy so she would at least leave him be. It wasn't that Lanzo didn't want friends, he just hadn't been around anyone long enough to not piss them off. Besides, he had his siblings, so he had buddies. He also assumed that anyone not able to handle him must have had something wrong with them. So he was a party of one any time he wasn't with his family, and would find the happiness he needed in bettering himself daily, and becoming the strongest stallion he could.

After cooling himself in his nearby stream, Lanzo decided to venture out of his usual spot within the woods and see the sights for a bit. The area he was in was a quieter one by the mountains, and he was relieved to not see flocks and herds of Soquili at his back door constantly. He had chosen it specifically to stay out of the range of too many creatures, and was just fine on his own. At least he was good at survival, even if it was a strange one sometimes.

Ocelli jutted out her lower jar, pouting. She looked for all the world like a petulant child, and not a fairly dangerous and unpredictable young mare. She scuffed her hoof at the ground, turning over the corpses in their various states of decay; none of them freshly dead, and many of them were skeletons or almost to that point.

'All my toys are gone.' she said, her voice sounding extremely sulky. She gave a long sigh and then even added the word out loud.
'Sigh. What am I to do?'

She brightened up again almost immediately, unfurling her wings and giving them a quick flap.

'Get more!' she said, to no one and took off, sculling her way through the air in a leisurely manner. She landed after travelling a relatively short distance, an area not far from the mountains, and started searching for signs of anything small, cuddly and of course fluffy, her nose to the ground as she snuffled through the grass like a hooved bloodhound.

Lanzo was so comfortable he was almost in autopilot mode. He knew the area extremely well, especially when it came to the sights and the sounds. It was very comforting and relaxing. So when he heard hoofs and movement pop into his ears, he halted somewhat suddenly. It wasn't necessarily from fear, but Lanzo was always cautious and liked to have the upper hand in every scenario.

He proceeded forward carefully and silently. Perhaps something dangerous was too close for his comfort zone? From what he saw next, he was even more startled at the vision of a Kalona mare sniffing the ground with so much focus. Were his eyes playing tricks on him?

He stood awkwardly near the mare as she breathed in as much as she could. "Ummmm." finally exited his mouth, and everything seemed to happen too quickly for his brain to process. "What are you doing?" Was this a thing now? Had he been that shut off from the world that Soquili were so bent on using their noses? "Are you looking for something?"

Ocelli's head popped up from the long grass, and she blinked, wiggling her nose and then sneezed, a blade of grass having tickled inside one of her nostrils. Her forehead wrinkled as she regarded the male, noting that his wings and tail were like hers, and she caught a flash of fang teeth as he spoke.

She didn't answer either of his questions, instead she walked over to him and then around him. When she had done a full circle she spoke.
'You're not cute. Or fluffy..'

With that sorted, she began poking around in the grass again, parting it with hooves and sniffing at the ground once more. It was with a vaguely grumpy look that she stood straight again a mere moment later, rounding on the stallion and tapping the ground with her pointed tail tip as she spoke.

'Where did you put them?'

Lanzo didn't have to be convinced he wasn't cute or fluffy, but he had no idea why that was all that she mentioned at first. His brow raised immediately as she continued on her 'mission' of sorts. Perhaps it was a mission he would never understand? From his point of view it all looked and seemed crazy. "Why thank you..." Was all he said in a snarky tone, while watching her scatter around the grass.

At her next question Lanzo found his other brow raise even higher. "Where did I put what? I don't like being accused for things I'm not involved in." He growled at the end of his statement and felt his stomach churn in discomfort.

Lanzo wasn't a violent or angry stallion by any means, but he was starting to get annoyed, which was a whole other ballpark. "Can you please explain, this is just.. outrageous." Lanzo knew he also wasn't the best at social interactions, but for once it wasn't his fault... or was he being too demanding? Was this becoming his fault because he wasn't offering a solution?

"Wha..." he paused while taking a deep breath. "What can I help you find?"

Ocelli didn't give two figs..or a fluffy rat's behind that her actions were causing this stallion to become annoyed. She took a couple of steps closer, tilting her head first to one side and then the other, crimson eyes staring at him from underneath her fringe.

'The. Mice.' she said, and then fell quiet, looking away and listening again, trying to hear the precious and soft sound of tiny tiny paws. Nothing. Not a sound that would bring joy to her twisted heart.

'They were here before. Lots of them. Sweet. Tiny eyes, like glistening fruits. Warm bodies. Soft, soft fur. Little paws. Tiny claws..' she let out a soft sigh as if she were carressing one right now, her eyes closing slightly..and then abruptly changed, lids snapping open as she looked at the stallion.

'And now they are gone. My dear toys, my dolls. And I only see. You. So what did you do with them!'

What. was. she. talking. about.

Lanzo listened as best as he could and was finding it hard to even be judgmental because he was so confused. "Well they are mice, they probably ran away because they were afraid of you." He huffed slightly, and found his eyes searching the grass almost instinctively. "I can help you look for them, but they obviously aren't here... They are gone."

At her mention of toys and dolls, Lanzo felt that familiar churn in his stomach again.

WHAT. ON. EARTH....

"I did nothing, for the last time!" Lanzo stomped his hoof on the ground in a loud huff. "Why are you dragging me into your crap? I told you I would help you look, but stop blaming it on me. I've never seen or heard of what you are talking about." Goodness gracious. It was enough dealing with his mother and sisters, but this chick was completely uncontrollable. What was going on here?

"You can't just trust your eyes you know. Sometimes WE are the ones to blame." He snorted in response and continued glaring at her.
