So much blood, and Tamu had no idea if she was in shock, living a nightmare, or how exactly it had all started; all she could see were her young ones, her cubs, slaughtered at her feet, newly born into the world, and killed right in front of her.

Her eyes grew wide as the two rogues advanced on her, jaws hanging open from exertion, their pupils mere pin pricks, and to make matters worse... her body refused to move. Tamu found she could not do anything but watch the two males advance on her with evil intent, and there was so much blood. It littered the floor, her bright blue pelt, their maws, their feet, their claws. She could see it all even in the vague moonlight, it even seemed to sparkle eerily as bigger of the two males lifted a paw up in the air, aiming for her.

She closed her eyes, winced, and waited for the blow, and all the while, even through closed lids, all she could see was red.

There was so much blood...

The moment he had placed the cub at the lawspeaker's feet his third eye had opened. A wave of images overwhelmed the large lion's awareness, flooding him with images of carnage. Blood shed, innocent lives lost, a heart broken, and someone in danger. Someone that needed him- someone that he needed in turn. Apologizing for his premature departure, the lion ordered the lawspeaker to watch the cub as he tore from the cave. He could only pray to the gods that the lawspeaker would humor his request.

He ran, desperation flooding his body and giving him strength where his body faded. He could feel something pounding in his ears like war drums, no... like thunder.

The male tore through the stones, leaping over cracks as he went.

There was no time... he was running out of time.... he wasn't moving fast enough!

He bared his teeth, ignored the burning in his lungs, and dug his claws in deep as he ran, forcing his strides to lengthen. When stone turned to turf and rock to mud, he flew over the flats, the dry grass whipping him as he went. He didn't know where he was going, and most would call him insane for following a gut feeling, but he'd learned well not to ignore them.

Then the smell of blood- a lot of it. The moonlight shone off of two large backs, muscular, hunched, and crowned with bristled manes. The eyes that caught the moonlight were filled with violence and their maws were dripping red. He could see several fallen bodies- one large and a few very, very small. Too small. Cubs.

Another body still stood unharmed, still as the corpses but still drawing breath. A roar tore from his strained lungs and light a streak of lightning the male intercepted the blow, throwing his bulk against the two males. Startled, for they had been focused on their prey, the males were jostled. He took advantage of their temporary surprise and threw one of his paws into the nearest male's jaw. A blow honed by years of combat, duels, and private training. A blow that fell as hard as a hammer.

In it's stead, there was a roar, a rush of air... a new scent that somehow managed to surface over the metallic stench of all that blood. Meat, which should have made her mouth water due to her nursing state, only made Tamu gag, her stomach dry heaving as she finally opened her eyes, taking a step or two back, until her backside hit a large bolder, stopping her retreat.

It was chaos, both around her, and within her mind, but the lioness could not seem to be able to tear her eyes from the battle; the newcomer was somehow managing to take on both males without too much difficulty, though that might've been, she managed to reason, due to the fact the two males weren't in their right mind. Tamu had seen the way their pupils had shrunk to pin pricks at the taste of blood, the way the fight with her mate had somehow turned into a massacre of both him and her cubs, and the way the lions had turned savage, feral, losing a some small piece of themselves to the blood lust she knew they felt.

The new one, however, was not lost to blood lust.

She could see there was a smart, clean spark in his eyes, and the way he battled was pragmatic, deliberate, never missing a beat, never missing an opportunity. The new rogue threw about his weight with the precision and ease of a seasoned war lord. In her baffled, shocked and more than slightly terrified mind set, Tamu thought, even if for the briefest instant, that the way he battled was almost beautiful to behold.

She turned away from the battle as more blood was spilled, this time the rogues' whom had finally been swayed out of their blood lust and into a state of fear; there was genuine terror in their eyes as they finally retreated from Thor's form, one heavily wounded, the other slightly so. They growled low, for show, then turned tail and ran away, leaving the blood bathed clearing behind them.

As they left, Tamu gagged again, dry heaving some more as she put a hand over her mouth in an attempt to hold whatever little her stomach still kept within her. She eyed the newcomer warily, terror in her eyes as she hunched down on the ground.

Thor stood still as a stone, his eyes blazing and his teeth bared as the rogues made their retreat. He stood like that for several long moments, allowing only his tail to slash the air behind him. When it became evident that they would have no second thoughts, the male let out a breath and turned to the distraught figure beside him.

The war-like features melted surprisingly fast and the look he gave her was one of true compassion. The carnage...they must have been someone close to her. He dared not look into his mind's eye for the answer, some things simply didn't need to be said.

He stepped forward and nudged her shoulder with his nose. "COME. LET US LOCATE A PLACE IN WHICH YOU CAN BRING YOURSELF TO A CALM WITH A SPLASH OF RIVER WATER. THEN I HAVE SOMETHING OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO DISCUSS WITH YOU."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The gagging slowly subsided, but the terror did not. As the large, imposing lion turned to look at her, Tamu winced visibly, her frame scooting away from him, and yet, managing to move just a few inches, rocks blocking her exit. Somehow, however, the look she was offering her, did not actually seem to match the look she thought she should be getting. She could only gasp when his head lowered and poked her shoulder with his nose, the motion soft, jarring horribly against the reality of the situation around her.

And then...

Well, then came his voice.

The lioness blinked, his shouts having effectively cut through whatever red haze of panic and blood still seeped withing his brain, and her head turned sharply to stare in disbelief. It was hard to figure out if said disbelief, was in fact due to his words or... the boisterous tone of voice he was using. All in all, she found herself gapping openly at him, "W-what?"

What indeed. That seemed to sum up the situation quite well indeed. Somewhere in the deep crevices of her traumatized brain, however, Tamu must've realized the large lion meant her no harm, for she both allowed him to lift her from the floor and guide her away from the carnage of her family. Her life, everything.

As she walked away from the red tinged place, Tamu did not look back, instead leaning heavily against Thor's large frame as he guided her away and towards a nearby brook of water, where she ultimately lay down and lapped the water. The cool liquid soothed her parched throat, and did, indeed, help relax her down, but it was with no small amount of hesitation that she finally raised her head up to look at the large lion "W-what did you want to discuss with me...?" a pause, "Who are you? A-and why did you help me?" he could have, after all, simply walked away.

The smell of blood was thick for quite a ways. He walked, helping the smaller lioness along the way, until the scent of death was well behind them. The stream helped somewhat. The air was crisp, cool, and fresh from the constant stream of water. The lioness would have time to wash her paws, dampen her face with some cold water, and collect her thoughts.

Thor stood still as a stone, his head held up and his ears perked upwards. He wasn't too keen on staying out in the wild lands for too long. He could handle himself just fine but there were always unruly rogues about. Some were decent folk. Travelers with their homelands behind them or somewhere down the road. Every one of them had their own story... but for every decent soul there was another waiting to take advantage of them.

He glanced down to the female as she composed herself enough to speak. "OH. MY APOLOGIES." He cleared his throat and stepped a little closer. "IN MY HASTE I NEGLECTED TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I AM THOR, SON OF ODIN. MIGHT I LEARN YOUR NAME, LADY OF THE BUBBLES?"

He took a leery step back. Oh...well he needed he help, yes, but it was not exactly an easy thing to ask. He took a short breath. "I NEED YOUR NURSING BOSOM." He said flatly. "YOU HAVE LOST YOUR FAMILY, YOUR YOUNG ONES. INCIDENTALLY... I HAVE FOUND A LITTLE ONE WITHOUT A MOTHER. HE WILL NOT LAST MUCH LONGER."
