((Assuming the cubs are born already! If they aren't, this will be set in the future, not present. <3))

"DIE!"

Some ways off the beaten path, just beyond the densely populated center of his homeland and where the foliage had only just started to thicken, Lemminkäinen ruled. The small area had been claimed as his own many times over, in that oh-so-traditional sense-- but also, more simply, within his own head. And it was there that Lems felt at his best. He felt in his element. The male cub controlled everything that was within his claimed territory, from what objects were brought in to the fate of every living being within its borders. As king, he feared nothing. He took what he wanted, when he wanted, and worried not that some grown-up might scold him or take back his goods. Those who dared to try his authority would be punished themselves. As mentioned before, his element.

"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE."

The sound of earth being pounded upon, the grating of claws against its surface, and the grunts of a lion cub at 'play' were muffled in the backdrop of a single, most foul word. Die. Lemminkäinen, son of Daffyd and Naja, a freeborn in the Myrsky Syntynyt pride, was making good use of his free time by killing large ants who, before their sudden invasion of his domain, had been doing no more than minding their own business. His assault sent the line of insects into a tizzy, some disappearing beneath the shelter of leaves, most, however, swarming his legs with every intent to right the injustice-- much to Lems delight.

"Yeah, take that! And that! Look at all of your guts! Ugh, you're disgusting!" He hissed, although the look in his eyes seemed far from displeased. His clumsy paws, which he threw about recklessly, seemed to effectively maim the remaining attackers.

It... only made sense to kill them. Really. To some extent he acted on basic instinct, protecting what was his while sustaining a sense of power. He was the predator, they the prey; Letting the ants cross without any repercussion went against all of that. Lemminkäinen had worked hard on building and sustaining a sense of balance. One that, though contradicting in nature, remained a system HE understood and abided by--regardless. It was scientifically the only way to ensure power remained in his, now hive-ridden, paws. It only made sense. His laws were set, and so they were implemented.

Some might argue against the claim, but what did nay-sayers know anyway.

When all was said and done, the male expelled a sharp breath and looked to the carnage that laid out beneath him. Yet to feel the full effect of his dozens of bites, Lemminkäinen smiled. Adrenaline kept his heart going, it shook his tiny frame, and it willed him to not only continue his hunt for the few who had managed to escape; but to pulverize them in the same fashion he had done their kin.

It was only the beginning of his day, and already he had accomplished so much. Life was good.
