I second the writing competition. ithink that'd be fun to read~
the only problem there is mule voting and people just voting for fun and not reading the entire entry~ (if you do a popularity vote for the post or thread)
I also think it'd be fun to have a plot-twist contest. maybe if you gave an initial prompt and people would submit some epic plot twist on top of the other. lol that could be really amusing.

We can try to solve the mule issue at a later date, as it will always be an issue. When we manage to start the competition, we can what to do about that problem. Password based maybe?

BUT, we could send out passwords. Unless you've spent all your free time recruiting mules at the request of main account holders, we shouldn't have to worry about mules much. Far as I can tell, crew, vices, and captains are the only ones who can recruit someone.
The only ones who'd get the second half of the password would be those who actually look at those announcements. The first half would be given to active crew, vice, Captains. They send us the results of the poll with the second half as the title, and we'll know they aren't mules.
As for the password? Something silly.
The cow went kablam.

Something that doesn't make sense, and has to have been given by a commanding officer.

To be on the safe side, have you spotted places to record those passwords?
Having a lot of the available crew around to have a say also works.

For the time being..no. However, I've got pocket change saved up for a new subforum. As a prize for some plot twist, or as a Crew/+ only posting area. I just haven't implemented it yet, as I'm still trying to decide if we need one more subforum.

I'd like to avoid the frequent use of Announcements, likewise, those that actually post here or lurk here would likely be the ones who have to scan through that huge list of Subforums to get to it. While I'd love input, its a post I'd make on the front page. o.o'
It's not meant to be inclusive, but it is a matter of values. If they haven't made a single post since joining and don't plan to, their opinion doesn't do me much good.
