On the northern side of the Shard, west of Asmodius is Direwood. A large expanse of land with many a tree, from tall and thin to short and stubby. Broad and thin leaves. There are also rumours of fairies.

Ora Nakimi The soft noise of birds chirping, the lovely dance of sunlight and shade as the branches and leaves above swayed in the gentle wind.. Reaching up Nakimi calmed the strands of her hair that was lured away by the ghostly fingers, keeping the white locks out of her face as she continued to cradle the handle of her basket in the crook of her elbow; Her other hand partially lifted as she held tightly to a guide sheet of native herbs.. the parchment showing crude pictures and writing to explain what each plant looked like and how she should go about harvesting the needed parts. She had promised to help the guild and, since her affinity naturally rested in plants, they had asked her to retrieve some stock for the Alchemists and Healers.. Nakimi intended to harvest a few seedlings for her own garden as well, to be honest.
Still, to be out in such a beautiful place, it was a reward in its own right. Moss covered stones and plants of varying natures and colors, even the crystal clear brook that crossed her path just ahead.. It seemed the best place to relax for a while. With whisper soft steps the woman found her way to the edge of the brook, sitting down on the grass as she gently placed her basket on a tall stone next to her.. the small sum of ingredients she'd gathered thus-far shifting about in their individual bindings when she attempted to tuck her list underneath them. Shirking her boots with a practiced ease, Nakimi did not hesitate to place her feet in the cold stream and honestly found delight in the way the gentle surface of the water barely rippled with the intrusion. It was deeper than it looked, the water almost half way up to her knees.. and she found herself kicking them gently, leaning forward and closing her eyes as she listened to the forest around herself.
She loved this place, it was nothing like the vague stories her parents told of their ancestral home.. a dark place with strange customs and rules, etiquette she had been taught anyway by them yet never had to use.. Honestly the only thing she'd ever enjoyed hearing about from her birthplace was the songs her mother would sing. Of course, around others, she never repeated them.. but here, where no ears should be near enough to hear? Her pale lips were parting before she could help it, her tongue already curving over the words as she sang softly. Not to herself, but the forest.. the water.. even the sunlight, all the things that gave her such peace of mind. From the soft happiness of her voice it was clear this was a familiar tune, something that held fond memories despite the slightly somber words that it weaved.. It had been one of her Mother's favorites as well, and her grandmother's from the stories she'd heard.. Disclaimer.

It was the middle of the day, the sun was shining and cool breezes were brushing past her hair as she walked through the loose woods. Dire woods was her favourite, not only because it was closest to home, but also because it just reminded her of her first home in Non-magic Earth. The birds sung the elegant verses of beauty and reminded her that living is the best part of life - and that none of it should be wasted.
Weaving through the trees she kept her arms behind her back, placed carefully upon her skirt as she glanced around. She was only out for a midday stroll, she wanted to think about what to do when she went back to Hope, this extended break was going to be boring, especially with the majority of her friends only having a regular break. However, her bordum was about to be halted when she passed a tree and, with the quiet sound of running water, were a young woman enjoying the brook.
She didn't want to intrude her, so instead she continued to walk slowly and respectfully at a small distance behind her. Perhaps she could find a nice spot to sit down at too, she always thought it was nicer to chill somewhere even if someone else was enjoying it too. And she was getting lonely of the woods these days, as often as she visited there wouldn't usually be anyone else.

Ora Nakimi At first Nakimi did not hear the other girl; Her mind elsewhere as she let her song fade and savored the hushed tones of birdsong that replaced her own voice... It was the steady steps behind her that made her eyes flicker open, locks of snowy white falling from her shoulder and down her back as the woman turned her head curiously. No alarm or unease marked her expression, though surprise was present. She had not anticipated company but welcomed it with a gentle curve of her lips, her hand lifting in greeting as she continued to move her feet in the cool water with small sways.
" It is a lovely day, don't you think?" Her hands slid back, fingers curling in the grass as she leaned back on her arms.. tilting her chin up so she could study the leafy canopy above them with a serene smile. " .. though, it may rain tonight."

It was just as Lottie was getting herself comfortable at the base of a green tree that she heard the young woman speak to her. Turning her head to face her, she was talking about the weather. Here, in Dire Woods the weather was not usually too harsh, but then news of rain made her reply with 'oh'. She smiled only slightly at the edge of her lips and replied 'I hope it doesn't.'.
She paused for thought, almost turning away to pull out a book but she then changed her mind. She didn't want to speak too much, but she felt it friendly to introduce herself, her parents had always told her to be polite.
'My name is Lottie' she then said with a soft smile, her eyes open wide.

Ora Nakimi " Really..?" With a gentle laugh under her breath the woman let the subject of rain go; Not everyone was fond of such weather and she often forgot that fact. It was pleasant to speak with someone who shared their mind so honestly.
Pale fingers curled in the grass, her nails stirring the soil absently with the soft motions.. 'Taking' just a little of the earth's energy as her lashes lowered, fanning out into twin crescents upon her cheeks. She was 'feeling' for the other herbs she needed, borrowing the ability to recognize the roots and where they were lurking in the lush greenery. The girl's voice surprised her; The sound soft yet so different from the noise of the forest that it took a moment for Nakimi to register what she had said.
A name.. Ah, her name.. She seemed to be a sweet girl, offering such courtesy in the middle of a forest. " You may call me Nakimi, Lottie. It is nice to make your acquaintance." She answered in her serene voice, tilting her head so that.. though her eyes remained closed.. she still seemed to be acknowledging the younger woman happily.

At first the young woman didn't seem to reply, she was almost seemingly hypnotised by the grass and dirt around her. With an almost gawping expression she fondled with her hair until she replied. Her name was Nakimi... it was pleasant, it sounded confident and had a nice ring to it. Lottie smiled slightly knowing the young woman has accepted her presence here. As of there and then she to turn away again, but from the corner of her eye she could still see Nakimi feeling the earth. Lottie then placed her back neatly against the tree trunk, it was oddly comfortable, it was why she always chose this tree. Staring out into the green abyss around her she couldn't help but think and ponder what the young woman was doing, as a student she was ever so curious and felt she had to ask "Are you...' beginning softly, turning her head to face Nakimi. "A member of Castayu Del'yir?" she asked politely, aqua blue eyes waiting for a response.

Ora Nakimi " In.. a way." Letting her connection with the plants slip Nakimi gently let go of the grass; Giving it a last, soothing, sweep with her fingers before sitting up once again. " I help keep the other members fed, and run errands for them when I happen to come into the forest.. But I fear that is all I can do for them Lottie." Wind ruffled her hair and the woman lifted her hand, steadying the locks at her temple with a content sigh.. her voice filled with a bitter-sweet happiness. Nakimi was glad she could help them even a little, but she did worry about the other members of Castayu Del'yir.. With their powers of Magic and Skill they often seemed to take more risks than she would like. Thankfully theirs was a guild at peace; They only stepped in to keep the balance and seemed well-liked by the world in general.
Those dear to her, and those she barely knew in the guild, all did their best to keep her home safe and her friends happy.. All she could do was be there when they needed her. Opening her eyes Nakimi studied her feet through the crystal-clear surface of the water, asking a question of her own. " Are you interested in the Guild?"

All Lottie could do was raise a brow at Nakimi with her first comment, but divulging further into her methods and means of purpose within the guild she began to understand. Within some of her own thoughts she could remember her parents speaking highly of Castayu Del'yir, particularly the wondrous Shard City. When she used to live in Traverse Town they would tell her of the great spires and libraries, gardens and forests. Unconditionally, Castayu Del'yir seemed to be the guild of peace and preservation, having quite the respectable power though being the youngest of the guilds. "i see" Lottie replied, interest gleaming in her eyes. She was an innocent girl, the equivalent of a high school girl, yet mature enough to be attending Hope.
"I'm interested in them all... really." Lottie looked off into the trees as she continued "I think its fascinating how our world is managed by such separate guilds so harmoniously.

Ora Nakimi " It is because they are separate, I believe.." Hiking her skirt a little higher to keep the material from getting wet, the woman leaned closer to the water and stretched out her hand.. Stroking the clear surface gently as if bidding the brook farewell. Content she stood.. collecting her basket and resting it against her hip as she glanced back at her young companion. She hadn't explained, had she.. " There is a saying my mother spoke of, she would say 'A house divided cannot stand'. It would also be very hard to build a house with only one side, don't you think?" Having just one guild would not do anything but cause imbalance.. They needed all of them to steady their society.
Reaching down she gathered her shoes, placing them into the basket.. and offering a gentle wink as she turned to make her way back to the city. " I feel the need for tea.. you may join me if you wish. If you stay, be careful." (( Exit ))
