WENTWORTH
“A cat is never vulgar.”
- Carl Van Vechten
Name: Wentworth
Nicknames: “Mr. Cat” – by Ricky. Wentworth loathes this.
Breed: Persian (Golden)
Attached to: Ricky Cunningham, a.k.a. Troy of Chronos
Alignment: Senshi / Order
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Poached halibut with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, and zucchini.
Hated Food: Everything that Ricky has been serving him, which mostly consists of dog food.
Hobbies: Isn’t it Romantic?: Wentworth finds nearly everything about Ricky’s apartment and lifestyle absolutely despcible and beneath him, a horrible representation of the world’s times. But if there is one thing that Wentworth has learned to love, it is Ricky’s television and the various romantic comedies that Wentworth can watch. He has mastered manipulating the remote with his paw, and spends his time alone in the apartment watching romantic comedies, romance films, and romantic sitcoms. His taste here can be eclectic, ranging from
Friends to
27 Dresses to his favorite,
Downton Abbey. Why, Matthew? Why?!
The Internet: Wentworth has also learned some mastery of Ricky’s laptop, which Wentworth uses to browse online. He mostly visits Wikipedia, learning about the fascinating world of the modern era, and studying its sciences, technologies, arts, fashions, and cultures. However, like any other Internet user, he also browses through the Internet to look at cat pictures and videos, and has even used Ricky’s webcam on occasion to take pictures and create memes of himself. Wentworth is very bored, sometimes.
Inventions and Gizmos: As a Mauvian, Wentworth has a natural knack for technologies and loves to build practical tech. Most of his technology is simple and practical – and mostly concerns him being able to do things as a cat – such as tying a string around the fridge door handle to pull so he can open the door. When in a humanoid form, however, his inventions can be more complex but he spends less time coming up with new ideas and more time tinkering with existing technologies to improve upon them.
Virtues: Intelligent: He’s a smart cat – he’s resourceful, knowledgeable, and interested in intellectual subjects. He spends a good deal of his time researching and keeping to his thoughts, placing a strong value on knowledge. His memory is strong, and a source of a great deal of information.
Neat and Tidy: Everything has an order and a place, and Wentworth ensures that everything finds its place. Even in his cat body limitations, he does his best to tidy up and keep himself and his surroundings clean. Everything always has a proper place for easy and convenient access to make tasks and chores a breeze, and under his organization it's always easy to find everything. It is nearly a compulsive need to keep things clean, but not so necessary that it would be an ugly trait. The condescension he may serve you as he tidies up, however, is rather off-putting.
Parental: Wentworth is deeply concerned about the well-being and safety of others. As a Guardian Cat, he knows it is his duty to protect and serve the Order-aligned Senshi, and feels this duty to his very core, and cares about each one in the way that a parent would. This level of care does not just apply to Senshi, however, but anyone he feels at all attached to, including Ricky - who he truly believes needs someone to watch over him. Although Wentworth may be the cat being poorly taken care of by Ricky, Wentworth feels he is the one taking care of Ricky.
Flaws: Uptight: A common word from Wentworth’s mouth is “No.” He is very tense and particular about what he does, not enjoying much physical labor, anything that can injure him or get him dirty, or anything else he doesn’t quite want to do at that moment. He is set in his ways, with a high standard of propriety, and is resistant to set out of those standards.
Condescending: If you are outside of Wentworth’s standards of propriety, he will let you know it. If you appear unintelligent, Wentworth will let you know it. If you have a flaw, Wentworth will let you know it. Not only will he let you know what you have done wrong, or what is wrong with you, he will attempt to correct your behavior. Are you insulted by his corrections? Well, that is simply another thing wrong with you, and you shouldn’t be so insulted. It isn’t very becoming on you.
Scardy…Cat: Wentworth is a total coward. He has a fear of the dark, a fear of loud noises, and of pretty much everything. While his fears aren’t quite at the phobia level nor are they so crippling that he cannot leave the home, he is very easily spooked. He runs away from many situations that call for him to be brave - which can be frequent as the powered war rages on in the city. He is not one to confront his fears, far more likely to run and hide. If involved in a battle, Wentworth will spend most of his time running, using his stun beam only out of fright as a last-resort method, and serving little other use to his allied Senshi and Knights than cheering them on - coaching them as needed - as he cowers and scatters from hiding spot to hiding spot.
