Araceli’s eyes wandered out over lake Amafel as her feet sunk into the sand lineing the shores. She’d opted to go barefoot, to enjoy the sand between her toes. Ara had come to Serenia in hopes of finding Kadryn again. She so wanted to talk to the female but hadn’t had a chance to see her since that first meeting. So when she hadn’t been able to find her, she’d headed out to have some alone time on the lake. Things had settled down drastically since the gathering the leaders had. Things were almost normal.

As she looked over her surroundings, splashing out in the lake caught her eyes. She blinked, wondering if she was just seeing things. A feline like creature seemed to be enjoying a dip in the lake. Araceli stopped walking and rubbed her eyes. Was that a Fekarat? She’d read a few things about them in books back in the Celestial Planes but had never actually seen one in person.

She chewed on her bottom lip as she remembered the chatter she’d overheard in the city. Apparently you could now tame a creature. She wondered if the Fekarat was able to be tamed. “Maybe...” She mumbled to herself as she sat down in the sand, watching the Fekarat play around in the water. It seemed like it was ages that she sat there, keeping her gaze locked on the Fekarat. Finally the creature decided it had had enough of the lake and swam to shore.

Araceli held her breath, hoping that the Fekarat wouldn’t see her. She should have thought this out more. Should have made herself hidden from view. It was too late now, she was already here and she was afraid if she moved it’d alert the Fekarat to her presence. The creature shook the water from it’s fur before stalking off to the forest’s edge. Ara rose up slowly from her spot, her legs stiff from sitting so long. She watched as the Fekarat seemed to go into hunt mode. It’s head followed something that only it could see.

She jumped as it lunged at what it had been following. A small squeal could be heard as the Fekarat pulled back out of the brush, a small rodent in it’s mouth. Ara’s nose wrinkled at the sight but she knew it was normal. The creatures had to eat. Which meant they had to hunt. She gritted her teeth as the Fekarat gobbled down the rodent and disapeared into the forest. Her eyes widened as she hurried along behind it. She couldn’t lose the creature. Then she wouldn’t even have a chance to try and capture it.

As she broke through the bushes and into the forest she cursed as a thorn sliced into her arm. Her head swiveled at the sound of hissing and she cursed again. The Fekarat had spotted her. No wonder, as much noise as she had made coming into the forest. She frowned at the thing. “Stop that. Stop your hissing.” She said as she lunged at the creature, determined to grab it and hold onto it.

As Ara’s hands were about to close on the body of the Fekarat it jumped up into the air, latching onto a low hanging branch. Pulling itself up onto said branch it sat and stared at her. “Come down here!” She yelled as she laid on the ground looking up into the tree. The Fekarat gave another hiss before jumping further up into the trees and disappearing into the leaves. “Curse it all.” Ara mumbled as she pounded her fists into the ground.
