Isidore kept one hand in Kyrie's and the other on a leash his father had made for Scim as they walked along the Pantheon hallway to find one of the blank doors.
They stopped outside the first one they came to and Isidore watched as his mother placed her hand on the door and closed her eyes. He imagined in her head she was saying a magic spell, just as they did in the books. It only took a few moments before she pushed the door open. Phirren stepped through first, followed by Kleo and then their mother, she gestured for them to follow.

They were stood in what appeared to be an alleyway, with whitewashed, mudbrick walls either side. The air felt hot and smelled of food and spices with a hint of perfume.
"Wow." He said with a grin, glancing to his sister.

Kyrie held her brother's hand tightly as she studied the door. There was obviously nothing remarkable about it, but she was trying to imagine what was happening on the other side. When their mother opened it, she watched everyone walk through, then hurried after them with Isi. Pausing, she looked around with wide eyes and fluffed her feathers excitedly.

"We're going to get to see Djinn!" she grinned and squeezed his hand in excitement.

Isi nodded and grinned broadly. He watched as the grown ups spoke about grown up boring things and peeked past them to the world beyond the alley, there were people flashing past in bright colours.
"I hope so. I bet there is a really good market." He said to his sister.

"Isidore, Kyrie, stay close." Cosine said to her children. She took a moment to change herself, her wings fading until they disappeared and her skin tinting a greener shade.

"We need to look for a man called Nasser." Kleo declared with certaintly. "Though I doubt he is still alive, someone might know of him."

Kyrie leaned with her brother to peer around the adults as well and was immediately captivated. So many colors and random flashes of light as the sunlight caught bits of jewelry.
"I hope Momma will take us to look at it," she breathed with excitement before looking up at her name.

"Okay Momma," she agreed and half watched her change, though attention was torn by the people at the other end of the alley.

Cosine gave a nod and gestured to them all to step out into the main street.

Isidore followed her outside and stood gaping at the scene before him.
It was a hot day, the sun beating down on the whitewashed, desert city. No one would have known that it too had suffered the effects of gehenna. The buildings were occupied, laundry hung from rooftops and windows, unusual creatures bustled around them. They came in all colours, sizes and forms, some looked like animals, some like humans, all wore bright coloured clothing and lots of jewellry.

They were now in the middle of a market, the stalls all had bright canopies and sold just about everything anyone could imagine.

Kyrie stepped out and bumped into her brother. There was too much to see and she was trying her best to see it all at once. She hadn't noticed that he had stopped to take it all in as well.
"Sorry Is," she apologized distractedly. "Oh! Look over there! There's lamps," she exclaimed and pointed to one of the stalls.

Isi blinked as his sister ran into him and grinned.
"It's okay Ky." He replied, following her pointing with his eyes. There was a stall of lamps, maybe they could find a djinn.

"Children, come on, we can shop after." Cosine called back to them, waving her hand to tell them to follow her. "We are looking for a specific shop, a scribe, or a book shop."

Kyrie lowered her arm and gave her mother big puppy dog eyes, though the expression was wasted as their mother was distracted. Sighing heavily, she looked to her brother and then to the lamps and then back to Isi.

"Let's go Is. Maybe we'll get to find a new book," she suggested with a bit of a smile.

Isidore nodded and followed after the band of adults. He really wanted to explore but they were on a special mission for their mother so their own exploring would have to wait.
"Oh, look there." He called out after they had been walking a while. "That shop is selling parchment and there is a big picture of a quill above it. That could be a scribe."

Kyrie was happily following allowing, her eyes hungrily drinking in all the pretty jewels that dripped from just about every being. Her brother's announcement caused her to blink and turn her head to where he was looking.

"You're so clever Is," she grinned and looked up to their mother and Phirren and Kleo to see if they agreed with him.

Isidore watched Kleo look up at the sign and waitied for her to deliver her thoughts.

"This could be the place." She agreed, there really was only one way to find out.

Isidore smiled as the adults decided that this was a worthy place to investigate and wandered closer to the piles of book and parchment.
"Look at all the books Ky." he grinned, dragging her over whilst his mother and the others chatted to the shop owner.

Kyrie was happily dragged over to where her brother was. She was not entirely interested in what the adults needed to discuss. Not when there were so many -much- more interesting things to investigate.
"There's so many. Do you think we could find a good story? Oh! Or a treasure map?" she asked as she looked to the pile of parchments. They totally looked like what a real treasure map would be drawn on.

Isidore looked to Scim who was sniffing at the books and then back to his sister.
"yeah! I bet they do have treasure maps." He replied reaching up to see if he could get at one. "I can't reach, you will have to help me."

Kyrie shifted excitedly as he agreed that there might be a treasure map for them to find. Watching him struggle, she peered up at the table, then reached out to take Scim's leash.

"Here," she said as she dropped to her hands and knees and moved closer so he could step up on her back.

"Thanks Ky." he grinned, clambering carefully onto her backa and using the table to pull himself up. He wobbled a bit, but managed to find his balance, the adults were still distracted so he took the opportunity to reach out and grab one of the rolls of parchment. Excited he forgot he was perched on his sister and took a step back, of course there was nothing here, he lost his balance and fell backwards onto the sandy floor with a hard thud.
"Owww, he moaned."
