Roll a Nine: Seashore Field: Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Lenore entered the stadium, yawning. Retrieving the decrepit pokeball from her pocket, she sent out Mephistopheles. Immediately, a crushing wave of exhaustion rolled over her, and the dusclops caught her before she could fall to the ground. She brushed off his worries with a light smile. "I'm fine, Mef. You wanted to battle, and you haven't been able to for a while. Don't worry about me."
The dusclops let the girl go, and she sat down. Mephistopheles jumped down to the sandy beach below.

Alexa walked in and spotted Lenore and Mephistopheles. "Hey Lenore! Good to see you and.... um... what was his name again?" She called out. She then let out Farvardin.
Farvardin bounded through the sand and growled at the water. She then moved further back so she wasn't near the sand. Turning she spotted Mephistopheles. Her tail whipped about in an attempt to wag as she noticed he had evolved and was so much stronger. "No holding back Mephistopheles! I can take it!" She barked.

Deciding to get this battle started Farvardin made the first move. She ran towards the ghost while deciding what move to use. As she drew close she came to halt and snarl making it sound tough.

Lenore gave a tired wave to the other trainer. "Hey. He's Mef." Remembering Erika's words, she continued. "It's good to see you, too." Mephistopheles bowed to Farvardin, noting her evolution. "I couldn't have asked for a better opponent. Good luck."
The snarl was filled with power, but Mephistopheles held his ground. Raising a single hand, a tendril of shadow crept up his arm and began to glow a soft violet.

Alexa tilted her head slightly. Lenore seemed almost exhausted. Hearing her talk made her smile though. "Ah right Mef." She said. She then turned to the battle to watch.
Farvardin grinned at what he said. He acknowledged that she was a worthy opponent! Her eyes narrowed as he began to power up. Another snarl ripped out of her even though she knew he would basically cancel it out.

Mephistopheles raised his other hand, and a tendril of shadow wrapped itself around that arm as well.

Farvardin sighed as he effectively canceled her stat changes on him. She looked down for a moment but then looked up. She got moving again and while on the move snarled again.

The snarl's power ripped into Mephistopheles, but he stood his ground. Raising both his arms, his eye began to glow as the ground shook violently below them.

Farvardin felt the ground begin to shake but didn't have anywhere to go. She tried her best to avoid sliding into the water but the sand began to suck her down. She scrambled back towards Mephistopheles. Snarling at him she fought to not be buried under the sand as well.

The snarl was drowned out as the ground continued to shudder and shake. Lenore rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as the quake woke her up, having dozed off momentarily.

Farvardin yelped as the ground continued to shake. She began sliding close to the water and scrambled to get away. As she passed Mephistopheles she snarled at him. Maybe she could startled him into stopping?

Mephistopheles' concentration was broken by the snarl, and the ground stopped shaking. Clenching his fist, Mephistopheles punched the ground, sending a shockwave slamming through the arena. Sand rocketed upward as spectral energy dispersed through the ground.
Lenore watched on with exhausted awe. "Mef got really strong, huh...?"

Alexa could barely watch this battle. It wasn't even a battle, it was more like a slaughter-fest. It was so one sided. She looked at Lenore and nodded. "I can't believe how strong he is. I don't think anyone can go against him."
Farvardin's eyes grew wide as she saw the shockwave coming at her. She tried to get away but it was too wide of an attack. She was tossed up and landed with a thump. She struggled to get up but when she did she snarled at him again.
