No one was going to be the first to claim that Sailor Remarque was an intelligent man, but there wasn't really merit in denying he was somewhat clever. Which wasn't bad for a man who had been raised not to think for himself.
Today was a boring day; even amidst the music and colors and fun of the festival, Remarque hadn't been involved.
…Well, he had, for four hours already today, danced and perused and partied. It was just doing very little to sate the wanderlust growing in his belly.
He had been debating with himself, for a while now; every hour a new transport ship drifted in, lingered for half an hour to unload, and then went back to what he presumed was someone else's loading dock.
He watched, studied the procedures for a bit, and decided he was going to see if he could get away with sneaking on board.
…Which was surprisingly easy.
He didn't even have to hide.
It was not as exciting as he had anticipated; the initial takeoff was a little bumpy, but then it was smooth sailing. He just sat on top of one of the empty crates, face plastered to a tiny window and stared out at space. There were a few asteroids they got close to, a few he hoped they were going to land on…
But they didn't.
He didn't even know when they where landing—until the air conditioning got shut off and he was suddenly being jostled around the room as they attempted to land.
Things were still after a moment; the hatch opened and he remained in his perfect hiding spot (thanks, gravity; that crate fit over him just perfectly!) until the workers wandered off.
He pulled himself out of the pile of fallen crates and slipped out—met with a sight unlike he'd ever seen, before. Green—so much green. There weren't jungles back on Remarque—there were hardly even forests.
He stared, in complete awe at the flora; he should have paid more attention to his surroundings. The loading dock was loud enough that he was certain he could find his way back if he only went in…a little bit.
It took all of two minutes for him to be totally lost in the towering plants, but he couldn't even be upset about it. Not when it was so neat.
…Except there were all these weird noises and he was pretty sure he was going to die.
