I'd be way screwed with my 3DS games problem if my younger self didn't hate fun with birthday and christmas money. I'm kinda leaning towards getting the game right now since I can always sell it or trade it to a classmate (or craigslist person) for Bravely Default later down the road if I don't like it. And if I do like it, I've got 70+ hours of entertainment ahead of me. I dunno I put too much consideration into my game library. *shot*
I haven't paid any attention to Dragon's Crown or what Level 5 is working on, I'll have to give it a look.... What's the difference between Squaresoft and SquareEnix?
I return!
emotion_donotwant I am pretty lenient with my library but I don't sell any of the games I get because I find a special something in a lot of them.... even though I wanted to sell metroid other M so bad >: ( It's still a memory of my popop... they slandered it... but it's a memory still!
Square soft had something really special. They made legendary games all of which had tons of content and were very iconic/filled with adventure. All the way up to the point they merged with Square Enix. Having said that, Square Enix is NOT a bad company... but they really focus on a lot of money grabs. This poses an issue because most of their money and budget goes toward graphics...
Squaresoft is responsible for every Final Fantasy up to nine.. They made Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger which are two of my most favorite games of all time. The best thing that SE has done that I have played was probably Dragon Quest VIII and Kingdom Hearts. I am pretty highly anticipating the new Final Fantasy as well... but it's the first FF that's not turn based. I am not sure how I feel about it but it looks fun!
Level 5 made Ni No Kuni (along with studio ghibli) and a bunch of older classical JRPG's from Dark Cloud to numerous other really thorough and fun games like White Knight Chronicles. Level 5 is without a doubt the masters of creating JRPG's that are very addictive and full of adventure. I am pretty sure their collaboration on Dragon Quest VIII is what made it really good. The artist was also Akira Toriyama who needs no introduction.
Atlus is just... fuggin amazing and wonderful. They have made some awe inspiring things. They are pretty much the new Squaresoft as far as Persona goes... I can't appreciate them enough >< Atlus has been gold as of late albeit they have been running into some money issues as well unfortunately.
My blog is being thrown up now so I don't have to gush as much. You can catch all of the reviews I have there which I think are pretty thoughtful and geared away from the negative aspects. After all, a game is played in order to enjoy. Anyways, I'll be posting that somewheerrrrrre when it's done.
