Okay.. so I signed up for this free Ipod thing. (stupid me)
This guy called today and he was Hi sir I'm calling today because someone in your family showed interest in AOL and I'd like to blah blah blah yada yada yada and I looked up and saw a spider gonk and all I was thinking about was the spider and so he was like blah blah blah what I'M going to do for YOU is let you try it for 2 months free If you don't like it then just call us and cancel okay..?
Me: uhh... okay..
Him: It's COMPLETELY free blah blah blah what I'm going to do is record our conversation to avoid any misunderstandings blahblahblah
Me: nono I don't want it
Him: if you have any questions or anything just call us back bye *click*
WHAT THE ******** read this thing on the free AOL thing that I WILL BE CHARGED if I don't cancel.. I don't know if he started it or not, but I don't want to be charged for some shitty internet service that I'm not using.
UGH!!! It makes me so angry listening to their crap. He's all talking to me about trust and s**t like oh just give me 1% of your trust and we will gain the other 99% blah blah blah.. I think they've stooped to the point that they're getting kids to sign up for free Ipods and charging their families unknowingly scream I SWEAR TO GOD.. If he starts charging me I will go and get my friend that likes to b***h to call them and scream at them. scream
Hehhe.. My friend likes to argue with people ^__^ Once he called his internet service because his internet wasn't working and they were like "we don't know what's wrong" and he was like "I SWEAR TO ******** GOD IF YOU DON'T FIX MY INTERNET THIS SECOND I WILL CALL AGAIN AND GET YOU FIRED." And so the guy got some other lady to help him and they fixed his internet sweatdrop

Back in the 90s it was all "yay for technology, PCs and cell phones." Now there's just more ways to get scammed and mistreated. As if people didn't see it coming. If one more telemarketer phones, I'm just going to explode.

If one more telemarketer phones, I'm just going to explode. ?? No Do Not Call List there? There's a loophole in that, though. If in the past (certain amount of time) you have "done business" with a company, they and their affiliates can contact you with no penalties. Companies are finding ways around the Do Not Call List. So, usually if you sign up for free stuff, it is too good to be true. They'll call you and let their "affiliates" call as well. It makes me sad. Stupid legal loophole things.

Every single time I was about to sign up for that, I realized it was a ploy like chain letters. Except, in the end someone has got to end up raking in some sort of money. What contact information is handy? Why the people who signed on. It's time like these I love the neurotic situations my brain likes to play out.

True, but you get way fewer calls if you're careful. Actually, there's a new type of scam, called ARCing, where they try to get YOU to call them by sending junk snail-mail that looks urgent. Try googling it. ARC stands for American Reading Club.

You know what? Next time someone from AOL (or any other stupid spammy companies) calls me, I'm going to scream I DIDN'T GET MY ******** IPOD and hang up on them. I don't care if they think I'm rude.
I DIDN'T GET MY IPOD! scream

For the free iPod thing that was floating around. Contexts are lost on me at this time of night, unless I'm trying to make deadlines. Gee, I can't wait for University to start...

Try googling it. ARC stands for American Reading Club. One way to be careful is to just not sign up for many things...especially if it's free or too good to be true...and read their rules and privacy policy. If you willingly give your information and "know" that they're going to sell it or call you, then you can't do anything about it.

I bet the blue 90's gloves, or the plain black gloves, or the blue water bands would look a lot better with that shirt....
