Welcome to the Our Favourite Things Guild!
Everyone needs a thread (or two, or three, or twenty) to showcase their beloved belongings and treasured Gaian possessions. Use this guild simply as place to house all of your collections of items, pets, art, etc...or feel free to hang around and chat.
In keeping with the favourite things theme, there will also be events and prize giveaways later on. If you have ideas, please feel free to jump over to the idea sticky to give us your two cents n.n

Be courteous to everyone and use acceptable behavior. Flaming, trolling, page-stretching, name-calling, harassing, etc. are all examples of unacceptable behavior.

Scamming, or attempting to take advantage of any guild member, will result in an immediate ban and you will be reported.
Thread bumping is generally not allowed as the guild threads move pretty slowly; if your thread is not on the first page and you want it to be, you can create a post with something to contribute or to start a conversation. Please refrain from bumping with images, emotes, bumps, etc.
Please do not advertise in your threads and posts. Giving credit to the artist/shop is expected; however, there is a difference between giving credit and advertising. Credit should be given in the post where the art is placed, not otherwise.
Credit MUST be given to the artists who created the work. If you do not know who the artist is, then please say so in your post, in case the artist recognizes their work. If this happens, you must immediately give credit to the artist, if it truly is their work.
This guild showcases art, graphics, pets, etc. from many different sources. No one, at any time, is allowed to save, download, or take art from any of the threads, without express permission from the original artist AND the person the art belongs to. Anyone found to be doing so will be immediately banned and reported.
Anyone found to have broken the above guild rules is subject to banning, with or without warning, and removal of their threads and sub-forums. Refunds will not be made to those who purchased a sub-forum, if they are found violating the Gaia Terms of Service or guild rules.

Does it cost anything to join the guild?
No, joining the guild is free. However, if you want to create and manage collection threads, you will need to purchase a sub-forum.
Can I invite xyz friend or is this a private guild?
This guild is public, so anyone who wants to join can do so.
I'm new to the guild, but I'm not sure what to do. Help!
No worries! We are pretty laid back and won't come down on you for not knowing what to do or making a few mistakes. First, you'll want to read the Welcome, Rules, and FAQ thread. If you still have a question, read the Forum/Sub-Forum Guide and How to purchase a sub-forum for collection threads.
If you still need help or can't find an answer to your question, head on over the the Questions thread, where the friendly guild staff will be happy to help you out.
Do I have to purchase or get a free sub-forum in order to have a collection thread or threads? Can't I just post my thread in the main forum?
When we first started the guild, we weren't sure what the size of the guild would be, and we wanted to make it easy and quick for guild staff to organize, help out, and manage the guild. Having a sub-forum for each persons collection threads helps keep the guild organized, and cuts down on the amount of time guild staff has to sort through or move threads to appropriate places. It also keeps all of your collection threads in one place so you don't have to go looking for your collection threads in one mass forum.
How many sub-forums am I allowed to have?
Only one. One sub-forum per member, and you can have as many threads in your sub-forum as you wish. We do ask that you try to keep your sub-forum as clean and organized as possible, but we won't really mess with your posts or threads unless it violates Gaia Terms of Service or the guild rules.
How much does it cost so I can have my own collection threads?
Purchasing a sub-forum to house your collection threads typically costs 2500g. However, there are some ways to earn your sub-forum for free! Also, the first 25 members will receive their own sub-forum for free. To claim your free sub-forum or to find out how to earn a free one, visit this thread.
How do I give credit to the artist who created my _____ (art, edit, plushie, pet, doll, toy, etc.)?
Giving credit can be as simple as adding the artists username to the post where you are displaying the art, or adding shop names and links. It's generally good practice to add the username and shop link, so that others are able to visit the artists' shop themselves if they see something they want to purchase for themselves.
What if I don't know who created my _____ (art, edit, plushie, pet, doll, toy, etc.)?
If you lost the artists name or shop link, please, please, post a note to let others know that you don't know who the art was created by, and if the artist recognizes their work to please let you know. That way, artists who see their work without credit given will notify you so you can add it immediately. Other guild members might also recognize an artists work and might be able to direct you to their shop thread. If this happens, please do your due diligence and check out the artists shop thread to verify if your art was created by them.
I want to become guild staff! Is there anything I can do to help?
Guild staff are chosen carefully. Currently the guild needs one more Vice-Captain and three Crew members to help with planning and managing events, answering questions in the question thread and welcoming newbies, and also moderating the forums. To become staff, you must be active on Gaia and in the guild, be responsible (not prone to disappearing for long periods of time without warning), and be willing to commit. You don't have to have prior experience in helping or running a guild, though it would be nice.
