Genesis sat on the corner of the bed, her knees drawn up and her arms wrapped tight around them. Her head was leaning against the hard surface of the wall beside her, and her eyes were glazed and distant. She’d been running over the events of the failed mission since the officers had placed her in the cell, recalling the fight... and the kill.
Of course, she’d denied her part in it, but the blood had been on her, hadn’t it? The splatters revealed she'd been above the body when the throat had been cut, but she passed it off, saying she'd tried to keep the girl from bleeding out. Tartarus had destroyed the buildings connected to Team Rocket, too, including the weapons used. There wasn’t enough evidence to really pin her to it, but she didn’t know how long they could hold her. The other trainer, the one who’d been there and seen it all... she didn’t know her name, but she knew the woman had been released. And soon, she would be, too, even if wasn’t by the officers’ hands. It had been a few days since she’d been thrown in here: enough time for Tartarus to have retrieved her other Pokémon, and potentially another Rocket. Doyle, maybe. With Erebos confiscated, she’d need all the help she could get.
As if on cue, Leto appeared, slipping easily past the thick bars. The cell had no window and she had snuck in through a hole along the wall, her coat covered in mud to hide her unique markings. It was clever, though absolutely filthy. Genesis thought she could see a bug Pokémon fall off the Rattata’s side, but she supposed she shouldn’t complain considering she wasn’t exactly squeaky clean herself.
The door was made entirely of bars, and any officer that had chosen to pass by could have easily seen her. As a result, she made no move and allowed Leto to approach her instead, mud smearing against her clothes as the Rattata squirmed to place herself between her trainer and the wall. Once there, she deposited a paper roll on Genesis’ lap.
The Rocket peered at it inconspicuously, wondering if it held a plan of some sort. Nope. It was a mission. Apparently, a higher-up had heard about her predicament and wanted her to check out the station. Great.
After she’d read it, Leto happily ate the message and slid a simple communicator – sound only, it seemed – in her trainer’s hand before snuggling out of sight beneath the pillow. Genesis stared. It'd been a while since she'd used anything other than the Rocket issued handheld, but she remembered to tuck one piece in her ear and another in her collar.
She waited, letting the hours roll past. It was late, and the guard doing his rounds had passed her earlier. By now, he should be some distance away, and the station was small enough to have only a few guard Pokémon at this time.
"What's up?" she asked when she thought it was safe to speak, her voice light and casual and directed to the communicator at her collar. She assumed she'd been partnered with Doyle again, and though she felt she'd had no choice when it came to killing the trainer, she didn't want him to know how much it had affected her -- how trapped and lost she felt the longer she stayed in this blasted cell with only her thoughts for company, and how she sorely wished they could leave the mission and just get out. No, she didn't want him to know anything.((Feel free to make up details! owo Tartarus, Hemera, and Atlas (Lucario, Lucario, Golbat) can be there.))

In the bushes outside the jail, Walpurgis mulled over the mission for the thirteenth time since he had begun his surveillance. He was to break out a captured agent, and to retrieve information on the facility. The most obvious course of action was an infiltration. Seems more like a job for Karina than me. He shook his head. Such thoughts were pointless; Karina had her own mission.
Walpurgis had come wearing his lab coat, the preferred clothing of Siegfried Lothar, his usual disguise. This far away from Motterosa, no one would recognize him, so it was relatively safe to use. He checked over his briefcase full of medical supplies to make sure he had everything necessary for the infiltration as well as the mission that would follow.
The communicator flared to life. He spoke quietly. "This is Walpurgisnacht. I'm outside the station, but I need to infiltrate. Given the fact that we're talking now, I'll go ahead and assume they're switching guards - act like you've fallen ill. Don't oversell it, just seem feverish. You don't need to contact the guards, just act for now. I'll be there soon."
Closing up the briefcase, he brushed off the coat, securing his knives to the inside. Stepping out of the bushes, he got on the road and began walking towards the jail.

Genesis froze -- she hadn't expected a stranger. Was Walpurgisnacht a newer member? It wasn't a name she recognized, and she didn't know if she was disappointed or relieved to find out it wasn't Doyle on the other end. Regardless, he seemed a capable member, and the direct instructions were a welcome change. They were something she could focus on, at least.
"Got it," she called, just before she heard the soft click of far-off footsteps. She didn't know if it was the guard coming her way or not, but she swayed where she was and appeared disoriented to play her part.((Looks fine to me. 8D <333))

Walpurgis stood in front of the jail, and gave three knocks to the door. Walpurgis heard a man grumble, and he backed away from the door as it opened. A portly man stuck his head out into the night air, looking around. Seeing Walpurgis, he frowned. "Yeah, what do you want? I thought I told the last guy that came that I'm not interested in buying a damn magazine subscription."
Walpurgis smiled. "Ah, no, I'm not here to solicit you anything, sir." He bowed. "My name is Dr. James Johnson; I'm a physician operating just south of Katarina. I was informed that I was to come check on a prisoner?"
The man seemed relieved to hear Walpurgis wasn't trying to sell him anything, but was confused by his stated business and narrowed his eyes. "I didn't hear anything about this."
"Oh, really? I'm really sorry, sir. I was just told there was a prisoner who had been recently detained who seemed to grow feverish nearing the end of his shift. I really thought you would have known." It was a bold lie, and his hand crept nearer to a knife in case it backfired.
Luckily, it had paid off instead. "Lucas." The portly officer hissed the name with obvious disdain. "I should have known that slacker had something to do with this." He shook his head, muttering. "Anyway, come on in. Get you some coffee?"
Walpurgis waved the officer off with a laugh as he stepped inside. "Oh, no, but thank you for your generous hospitality." He looked around the office. "Uhm, might I inquire as to which way the patient is? I'm afraid I've never been here, so I don't quite know the layout."
The guard pointed down the hall. "Not many prisoners around tonight, so I'm assuming cell block A." He took a sip of his coffee as he sat back down to read the paper.

The steps receded and Genesis relaxed, but not much. All she wanted to do was get out, but now that the opportunity was actually here, would it work? Not all of her Pokémon were battlers, and she knew nothing about Walpurgisnacht. The guards would be easy enough to take care of on their own, but they had their own Pokémon, as well... She didn't think she'd feel so uncertain without Erebos, but that was the trouble that came with getting close. She gained a partner, and a weakness, too.
But no, no thinking. Just acting. She slumped down onto the pillow, remembering at the last moment that Leto was there. Thankfully, the Rattata had dozed off while she'd waited for night to fall, and she was a heavy sleeper.
"Hey... you okay there?" an officer called, having passed the cell in time to see her fall. He was wary: she'd been accused of murder, but at the same time, she didn't look very well, and there had been no definite proof...((Eheuheu, enjoying the read. >W> <3 Don't worry about length, though; quality over quantity and all that.))

Walpurgis entered the room in time to hear the officer call out, and he moved quicker. Seeing the girl unconscious, Walpurgis opened the briefcase and immediately began to mix chemicals together. He turned to the officer as he placed a bottle back in the briefcase and pulled another out. "Officer, this woman has what looks to be a heavy fever. Could you let her out so that I can help her?"
The officer stammered. "I... I really don't think that's a good idea. She's suspect in a murder investigation, and for all we know she might just be acting!"
Walpurgis' eyes bored into his. "And if she's not? What if she's an innocent girl who you are denying medical treatment? Are you willing to take that risk?"
The officer continued to stammer, having no clue what to do. "I.. I just don't...."
Walpurgis poured the mixture onto a cloth, placing it over his hand. His voice began to raise. "Look; this girl may be a murderer, and she may be faking, but she may also be sick, and I refuse to leave someone to suffer just because you don't fully trust them. Lock me in with her, if you like, but just let me help her."
The officer thought about the proposition for a second. "Uh, okay. I guess that would be fine." He motioned Walpurgis over to the cell, retrieving the key from his belt. Placing it into the keyhole, he cried out as Walpurgis twisted his free arm behind his back and pressed the damp cloth to his mouth, silencing him. Within seconds, the chloroform had kicked in, and Walpurgis guided the man to the corner. Retrieving the key, he turned to Genesis and whispered. "Scream as if you're being attacked." He pressed his back to the wall next to the doorway, the cloth still in hand.

Genesis had her back to the cell door, feigning sleep to any onlookers while her eyes lay open. She contracted her throat, making her breathing sound harsh and uneven to add to the ruse. Soon, a doctor appeared, his timing so impeccable that she felt she could safely assume it was her partner.
Her lips curved into a smile as the scene played out behind her. She'd always been partial to disguises, which was no real surprise considering the number of aliases she had. Her current one was wearing thin, though, and she'd have to change out of it soon -- the wig especially.
The sounds of struggle, and then, the officer was down. She swiped Leto into her pocket, rousing the Rattata as she did so, and gave a shrill scream.

The portly officer from before came running - well, lumbering - down the hall at the sound of the scream. As he entered the room, Walpurgis placed the cloth over his mouth and held him by the neck as he thrashed about with his free arm. After a short amount of time, he too was unconscious. Retrieving a pokeball from his belt, he sent out Satori.
"Scout around the facility and see if there are any other officers here. Whatever the result, stay to the shadows and report back. Don't engage them." The liepard nodded her understanding and vanished.
Walpurgis threw the spent cloth in a waste bin beneath the desk and unlocked the cell. "They'll be out for about 20 minutes or so. Let's make this quick." He turned and grabbed the briefcase, latching it.

"Right," Genesis said, rolling quickly to her feet and stepping out. She was grateful, but she didn't thank him just yet. They were on a schedule, and there would be time for gratitude later. The mission was the priority -- she knew that, but she'd have to look for Erebos, too. What she didn't know, however, was the Rocket with her now, and though she appreciated his help and admired his work, she couldn't trust him. He might try to dissuade her from her own goals.
"We'll split up. If you need me--" she tapped her ear piece twice before heading away.

Walpurgis looked at her fingers as she tapped her communicator. Heavily bruised, perhaps broken. He grabbed her wrist. "You're in no condition to be running off alone. If you need something here, then we can get it. It'll be quicker and less risky to go together."

"And here I thought you were only pretending to be a doctor," Genesis smiled, drawing back her hand. But he'd gotten to the heart of the matter quickly and, more than that: he was right. It was no use lying to him now.
"They've got one of my Pokémon," she admitted. If she was being honest now, she could go a little further. "He's in his Poké Ball -- I'm not sure we'd be able to find him in time if they have a pile of them to dig through."

Walpurgis thought for a moment. "We'll just grab them all. The higher ups can decide what to do with the others when we get back." As he spoke, Satori slinked out of the shadows and gave a single swish of her tail. "Satori says there's only one more cop, so I'll deal with him." He turned back to the liepard. "Did you see any pokeballs lying around?" With a nod, the liepard turned and walked out of the room.
Turning back to Genesis, Walpurgis retrieved two knives from his coat. "Let's go."

Genesis was relieved to see he offered no resistance but instead offered his own help. She nodded, then took Leto out to stand battle-ready. She wasn't sure yet what kind of guard Pokémon this place would have, and though she doubted such an out-of-the-way station would be bustling with kennels and the like, she certainly didn't want to go hand-to-hand with another Pokémon. Just in case, however, she took out her tactical pen from its sheath in her sleeve. It was the best she had, considering the officers had also taken her bag and even her bicycle.
At Walpurgis' go-ahead, she trailed behind the Liepard, admiring the grace with which it moved. Its gait was like liquid metal, so smooth, yet so powerful. She was sure seemed clunky in comparison, especially because she'd been held up in the cramped cell for so a while. It was good to be moving again, to act and be in control.

The liepard stopped outside a door and nodded her head toward it. Walpurgis thought a moment and walked up to the door, knocking three times. A voice called from the other side. "Yeah?"
Walpurgis did his best to emulate the pudgy officer's voice. "Lucas screwed something up, and I have to go clean up his mess. I need you to come out and watch the front." It wasn't a flawless impression, but it seemed to be passable enough because the familiar sound of a chair scraping against the floor came soon after. "Yeah, yeah, I got it."
The door opened up, and the officer, a pale, skinny man, furrowed his eye brows in confusion. "You're not-" He was cut off as Walpurgis drove his fist into the man's stomach, knocking the wind clean out of him. Walpurgis lowered him to the floor as Satori continued walking forward before stopping at a dimly lit room.

Genesis quirked a brow, impressed. She was usually one to knock down doors and go at her enemies swinging if simply sneaking around didn't do the trick. Walpurgis' method seemed more efficient, and less messy, too.
She slipped past him and Satori to search the room while Leto feigned karate kicks at the officer's head. No camera, no window, a clock, and, as noted, there was a group of Poké Balls in an open box. How convenient. Though the Poké Balls looked similar, she recognized Erebos' as soon as she saw it and placed it in the pocket Leto had previously filled. She'd have to wipe the mud off later.
The weight of the ball was comforting to her, and she felt calmer now, knowing Erebos was with her, even if he wasn't out and about. She looked at the few Balls that remained, wondering if any of them would prove particularly aggressive when it realized it was with an unfamiliar trainer. Oh well. Her bag had been propped beside them, and she ushered them inside it. Slinging it over her better shoulder, she scanned the area.
It appeared to be an office, if the stacks of paperwork were any indication. She leafed through the closest pile, then the next, and then the next, as each proved useless. Records and evidence of small crimes unaffiliated with Team Rocket...
"Nothing interesting on this end," she announced, her eyes darting to the clock overhead.
