After recovering from his wounds, the firani drakien tried to figure out the best way of dealing with the with the Vlidean. He watched them from a distance over a number of days. They always seemed to be in great flocks, always together...
And so he figured his best plan of attack was to take them by surprise. Early morning was the best time, when the sun had just started to rise over the mountains and case long shadows along the ground. Slinking he tried to sneak up on their nest sights. He would destroy them all, starting with the young...and though he licked his lips eager to get started on his massacre his desire unfortunately wouldn't come to be.
You see he hadn't noticed that these creatures posted sentries about to make sure that they were safe to sleep, and it was a sentry that discovered him and launched itself at him from above. More talons pierced his back as the drakien had to clamp his jaws shut as to not wake up the rest that were still sleeping. Not...that it mattered as the sentry gave a peircing shriek to warn its comrades of the impending danger.
Soon the drakien was swarmed with vlidean more sharp beaks and talons raked over him. And though he managed a bit more damage this go around it was no good...once again the drakien had to flee and it was starting to bother him. Escaping from his pursuers he returned to his make shift home to look after his wounds. The beasts never got very deep into his flesh but there were enough cuts and ragged slices into his hide that the normally vain dragon was starting to boil about.
How dare they.....they would all die...he would figure out something that worked, but they would die.
