Confuse about the title? Well, lemme explain it.

Yesterday while looking at my FB, I came across a post that someone hacked the easy mode of FE6 to... Well, make it easier. To be honest, I don't know if Serenes Forest forum received this information or not. sweatdrop

Now, I will admit I haven't play FE6, but I do plan to play it once I have the time to do so. But seeing that someone has changed the format of the mode, it makes me curious that if a newcomer asks for a FE6 patch, which one will you recommend for the newcomer: the original format of FE6 or the.... "remake" of FE6?

For those who want to play or test out the remake of FE6: easy mode, please either PM or private AIM me. I'm not going to post the link of the patch here, but I will post the list of what had change in the FE6: easy mode.

So what do you think about the "remaking" of the easy mode of FE6? Is it too easy for easy?
Is it necessary to change some of the unit's stat and growth experience?
Do you recommend original or the "remake" if decide to play easy mode?

Well, I'd always recommend playing the original game over a hacked version...

This seems to be an attempt to make the game more balanced and less of a 'chore' as some people consider it. Also, Roy and various not-so-good units won't totally suck as much. Like. Hello possibly usable Cath.

Niime's getting a lot of special treatment, though, and I'm not sure she really needs THAT much of it, since she's not totally horrible the way she is. I guess they're making her sort of a lesser Karel in terms of growths.

As far as 'too easy' goes... during the story, probably not, but once you get to the end, it'll be cake. I'd suggest they make Idoun and other later game enemies more difficult to compensate. I mean, she can be one-shotted without making the units stronger, so this is just making it even easier to kill her, which is lame.

Yeah, I agree with you about Niime. I'm okay if it increases slightly, like maybe around 20 - 55%, but to max up to 100% is too much in my opinion. Because from low growth experience to max growth is too much for "balancing" the stat.

As for the enemies, I think it only the boss enemies that have their stats decreases slightly. All the generic enemies are probably still the same. But about how much slightly did it change? I don't know, but hopefully not too much. We prefer to have some challenge, not overkill. >>;

This is actually kinda interesting that there's an easy mode patch. I think the game only had normal and hard mode if I remember right. But to be honest, I think Normal mode is actually a pretty good challenge as it stands. The problem I have with it is that axe users really suffer badly in FE6. But that's it really... I'd still recommend checking out the original game though.

For the stat changes, I mean yeah I do agree with Rath that Niime doesn't need that much resistance growth. It's kinda overdoing it a little. From my experience of using her, was an okay Druid. She did suffer having pretty low hp, but I rather liked her as a healer. Though, I do prefer using Ray if I'm using a Druid..

Also, I noticed Yodel has some stat changes too. Wasn't he already capped as a level 20 bishop? I dunno if that's necessary either. I do remember it was a difficult problem for light users to use aureola. The reason for that is because they already get an S rank in staves once they promote. You only have Saul, Ellen, and Yodel that could use light magic and can heal as well. I mean, it does seem possible for only yodel to use that tome if you actually put in some effort to train him in light magic. But I don't really bother with that...

I guess if there was some stat changes, maybe they could balance it out a bit and give it to units that could be a bit more usable I guess? And yes, Idoun could be much more of a challenge. You could two shot her with the sword of seals way too easily. lol

The changes would make the game easier, but they're shockingly disproportionate and I wouldn't be surprised if they made the game just as imbalanced if not more imbalanced when it comes to what units are best rather than helping in that area. A lot of the things that make FE6 a potential pain in the a** remain unchanged, too (enemy staff users, axe hit rates still too low, it's still all Seize chapters, etc...)

FE6 is harder than FE7 and 8, this is true (and one of it's selling points, as far as I'm concerned), but it isn't overly hard. And you start getting legendary weapons a lot sooner which could help you out if you needed them. I wouldn't recommend this patch. I mean... if you're going to play the game, PLAY THE GAME, not a modified version. Then, if you wanted to, you could play the patch to see how it compared.

And Niime is awesome, yo! Love her. A fantastic ranged staff user (What? You'd rather use Clarine for all your staff needs? Because she has TONS of magic to have good range with them, right? The potential Sages? Right, because they'll have the staff ranks...) and she can get by pretty well offensively, if she isn't OHKO'ed thanks to Nosferatanking. And she doesn't cost a Guiding Ring. A lot less of a hassle to have her able to use Apocalypse than Rei and especially Sophia both are. Lots to like about her without the need for boosting her growths. She is a good candidate for an Angelic Robe though.
