Call him a push over, but when a ghoul asked for flowers, Mot couldn't help but say yes. The only thing that made him feel badly was doing this for someone who was very much not his ghoulfriend. Would Gene be mad? Hel was his ex after all, and he knew the two of them did not get along. However, Hel was a very important friend. He was not about to give her any less attention just because he was dating Gene.
And so, Mot pocketed his phone and left the cafe he'd been loitering in. It was time to take a walk in the woods.
Twilight turned to night fall. It was now too dark to see the arrangements he'd been spending hours on whilst sitting in a grove of flowers within the Weeping Woods. With arms full of bouquets and flower crowns lined with deadly plant life, Mot turned and headed back to the dorms; all the while he hummed and sang a song.
The familiar echo of spurs chimed through the halls of the third floor in the Reaper Dorms. Mot stopped outside Hel's door. His hair was slightly tousled by the breeze, a leaf stuck in its tresses. His hands were covered in green and dirt, his nails thick with grime from toiling away. Yet he still hummed, a smile planted on his face.
He did so love to spoil ghouls.
He knocked three times with the toe of his boot. "It's me, Mot! My hands are full. Could you open the door?"

Was it stupid that she wanted flowers?
Hel often wondered this. She was far from a ghoulie-ghoul, not to mention she was not the typical ghoul and a ghoul wanting flowers just seemed so…typical and petty…but it still boiled down to the fact that Hel liked flowers. Not a carefully manicured bouquet from a shop though. She loved wild flowers…because they were like her personality…
Regardless, she was beyond the moon when Mot said he’d go get her some. She also thought it’d only be a half hour at most, so she sat on the floor of her room and waited…then she rocked back and forth…and then she rolled around on the floor during the first nine minutes. Then deciding it would be longer than that, Hel went back to reading her cottage magazine, and started making dinner for herself as well.
When there was a knock and a voice at the door, the ghoul sprung up from her spot on the floor and all but ran into the door, flinging it open.
“HI!” She breathed, eyes wide, and she quickly moved out of the way…Mot had a lot!

Mot chuckled at Hel's breathlessness, stepping inside her room and immediately taking the time to slip out of his boots. He used his foot to slide them to the side so as not to get the mud he tracked in anywhere else in her room.
"I'm sorry I took so long. I got really into it! I made a few things for Gene, you see, as well as for you. And I wanted them to have their own personal flair. And ah... It was just such a nice and quiet place, you know?" Mot smiled and laughed, padding over to her table to set down the three bouquets he'd made for Hel.
"This one is orange flowers with black vines and some other neat little plants I found. And ah.. this one is made of every single colour I found in one giant bouquet! It is unruly.. but then so are you, yes?" He laughed with a cheeky grin. "This las one is just one flower.. but it's just so enticing on its own."

“Oh…ya! That is alright…I mean, if you were having a pleasant time, then that is good.” Hel’s stare was riveted on the flowers.
Flowers.
She closed her door after Mot stepped in, and followed after him in a waltz like step and just stared at them all. She honestly thought all those bouquets would be for Gene, and maybe just the single one for her, and would be totally okay with that! Gene was the ghoul friend after all, and she was really happy to even just be getting one!
Hel pointed at the bouquet with all the different types of wild flowers in it.
“So that one is mine?”

"Hm? All three of these are yours." Mot said gesturing at the three on the table, still holding another large arm full of arrangements.
"These ones are Gene's. See? I have a floral crown for her, a bedside bouquet, a bouquet for the kitchen table, and a wreath! Think she'll like them? They're all grays and teals, since I feel like she likes those colours... Oh gosh I hope she does. Hah hah! One way to find out." Mot chuckled warmly. "I was considering drying out the wreath before I give it to her though. But that would take time."
He tilted his head and looked down at Hel, "Do you like the ones I made for you?"

Sorry Mot, Hel meant to pay attention to your every word…but after you said ‘all three of these are yours’ you lost Hel.
The smile fell from her face as she stared from Mot and then back to the table, at the three bouquets of flowers that were hers. Her heart felt like it had just plummeted from her chest, only because she was so touched. The cowboil had punched her in the feels pretty hard, whether he realized it or not. Hel’s head tilted to the side as she just continued to stare at the flowers, and after a moment, her eyes seemed to become incredibly glossy.
Her fingers crept up to her mouth, just staying there as she continued to stare, before she slid her gaze over to the cowboil, looking rather lost. “Thanks, Mot.” She managed to get out, her voice oddly soft and thick with emotion.

Mot's idiotically happy face seemed to calm, his chattering fading as he realized Hel seemed lost. "Hel..?" He murmured with concern, tilting his head to catch Hel's odd expression.
"I.. didn't realize how much this would mean to you.. honestly, I thought for sure you were going to laugh at me."

Hel shifted her attention back to the flowers, and finally approached them, reaching out with her free hand to lightly slide her calloused finger tips over the petals of all the bouquets. Ow. Her chest. Ow. They were all so lovely, and he really did go out and get them all for her…with no teasing or mean words and…
“I wish he would bring me flowers…”
The reaper cleared her throat, and looked back over her shoulder at the grim, her brows furrowing. “W-why would I do that?”

Mot frowned, slowly setting his flowers for Gene down on the table as well. His eyes didn't leave Hel. She definitely liked the flowers, but she seemed hurt because of them too. What had she mumbled just then?
"I... I don't know.. you like to tease me, don't you?" He reasoned. Still confused, Mot rubbed his neck. "Did I get a wrong sort of flower? Did they bring a bad memory? I could switch them out, if you need me too."

“…Oh.” Well, it was true, she did…but no, not this time. This wasn’t a teasing matter. When the grim offered to change them up though, the ghoul’s reaction was immediately. She wrapped her arms around all three of the bouquets and hugged them to her chest, going wide eyed.
“NO!” She cried. Okay, there was the slightly more ‘normal’ Hel. “No!” She repeated. “I love them! They are perfect!”

Mot managed a laugh at her reaction, waving his hands defensively. "Okay, okay. But please mind the bouquets, Hel. You are squishing them."
He paused.
"Unless you prefer them squashed or smothered, then by all means."

“I am wha—OH NO!” Hel cried, and immediately let all of them go, and hovered over them. The ghoul shifted her weight back and forth, staring at the bouquets…when one petal fell from one of them. “NO!” She cried again, dropping to her knees at the table as she picked up the petal. “AH! AHH!”
She held the petal between her fingers as if it was the most fragile thing in all of Halloween.

Mot wasn't sure if he should laugh or not, and his face was a horrid mix of amusement and concern. "Ah... It's okay, Hel." Mot uttered, tentatively hovering a hand out toward the other reaper.
"It will lose many more petals here on out, so I wouldn't worry over one." He smiled lightly. "How about we put those in some water, yes?"

Well…this was definitely the downside to flowers. They didn’t last. Hel would need to take a picture of all of them…yes…on her new eyePhone. Because pictures lasted longer, and the ghoul knew she’d be able to recall all these happy (and bittersweet) feelings from looking at the pictures. “O-oh ya…water!” Hel then remembered something else.
“Oh my Jack, DINNER!” She cried, and pushed off of the table and stumbled her way to the little kitchenette in a rush. There was a clanging of some cook ware as Hel was quick to removed a pot from the hot plate and then quickly stir it. “SO UH—“ Her head poked out from around the corner.
“You should eat dinner with me! Slightly burnt, but still good, I assure you! After we put the flowers in water!"

Mot stood, a tad flabbergasted, before relaxing. Hel seemed back to herself. Somehow.
"Of course." He said with a smile. Hel was sure to remember his meager appetite and portions well. He'd have a little food here and there for the sake of being social.
Mot took it upon himself to search the kitchen for vases or other tall containers to hold the flowers since Hel seemed busy.
