Mo let out a sigh of relief. A whole night to themselves. He waved and blew kisses to the little munchkins as they wandered off, leaving them in Shining's and Princess Cadence's loving hands.



Twinkletoes strutted around the Princess' hooves, stopping only briefly to wave (more like flail?) after her parents. She then returned to strutting about the room, seeming to high-kick in a march about the area. It was almost as if she was marching to the beat of her own imaginary drum! Cause she most likely is... Yup...







Shining waved the parent pair off. "There's nothing to worry about, you two. Have fun! And we'll see you later tonight!" he assured them.

Once the pair had gone, he turned to the three little munchkins, smiling at them with a bit of a nervous smile. He had babysat before in his lifetime, but he was only watching one filly back then. A certain particular filly of the bookworm variety. She knew the rules far better than these three little bundles of awesome.

However, this didn't stop Shining from trying at least.

While her siblings had the adults occupied, the dark colored female had snuck around behind the rest of the group and climbed on top of a chair, then onto a dresser. She took a step back, preparing for a running start and...leapt at the large white male, latching onto his back with a death grip. Eh, he could breathe fine with her hanging on his neck like that, right? She wasn't that big.

"Gotcha!" she shouted triumphantly, hanging on for dear life. Her tiny wings flapped with all their might...which wasn't much, so it was more like flailing than flying at this point.

Wild Moon sucked happily, or almost as happily as he could while twitching at crooked things. When his pacifier was gone however, he stopped and stared at his sister laying on the floor, debating whether he should cry or not.... and then she giggled. He blinked at her and tilted his head before looking up at Cadence then over at Shinning and his other sister on top of him. He shrugged and waited till they were all distracted with the two girls to slip off to try to go straighten a book on the bookshelf..... and the following books after it.

"Well... they are little ones. Babies do like to suck on things." she laughed, but before she could do anything, Twinkletoes had fallen backwards and lay stricken on the ground looking as if she couldn't make up her mind on what to do. "Oh no no its ok don't cr..... she paused when Twinkletoes suddenly started laughing and marching in place on the floor.

Cadence laughed and scooped up the marching filly in her arms and rocked her back and forth. "Your a silly little thing aren't you?!" she grinned and pressed her nose against Twinkletoe's and wiggled her head back and forth. She then looked up and Shining and watched him with the brown sister, a soft different smile gracing her lips as she watched him with affection and admiration. Her eyes sparkled softly, for a few brief moments, putting his and her colors onto Moonlight Shadow instead.

Twinkletoes squealed a giggle as she was picked up and squirmed a bit as if the very action tickled her. She then blinked as Cadence's attention drifted elsewhere... She wasn't too fond of this for the moment. She was up! This person had her! This person named.... Katie? Candice?... She wrinkled her nose a promptly grabbed Cadence's face to turn her so that she was eye to eye with her cousin.

"Whut yor nem?" she asked in the most serious of serious tones with the most serious of serious eye-stares! It was almost as if her tiny little life depended upon whatever name Cadence decided to give her that very moment!


Shining laughed a bit and nodded. "Of course!" He lifted her off his shoulders (carefully minded his horn) and set her down on the ground gently in front of him. "There you go, kiddo!"

He let her wonder off in the room to tackle something else while he moved over to see what all was just so serious with Twinkletoes and Cadence.

Moonlight scrambled away from the tall white stallion to go watch what her brother was doing.

What was he doing?

She tilted her head to the side, trying to puzzle it out even after he'd wandered off to do something else. Why? Eh, she didn't get it. Were books fun to play with? Time to find out.

Putting them on the shelf didn't seem fun though; besides, they were already there. So, she started pulling them off the shelf at random, letting them drop to the floor. Once she had a few, she looked at them, then started trying to stack them haphazardly on top of each other. BOOK FORT!

He froze. The painful sound of books being flung echoed behind him. His ears flickered. Dare he turn around? Ever so slowly, Wild Moon turned back around, only to see Moonlight tossing the books aside then stacking them on top of each other! THEY WEREN'T EVEN COLOR CODED!!! "Waaaahhh!" his mouth hung open as he toddled over and looked at her, looked at Shining then tried to take the book from him, his eyes big and tear full. "Not.... wright"

She laughed more, leaning into the hug before setting Twinkletoes down. "Thats right, Cousin! Cousin Cadence!" she smiled, wandering over to glance at Shining with the books. She let out a dreamy like sigh. "Can you imagine little ones of our own?" she smiled and picked up Wild Moon and set him in her lap, trying to calm him down as he seemed about to cry. "Hey now its ok. We can all enjoy the story if you like?" she asked, looking over at the 'fort' Moonlight was making, fixing the top ones before they fell off... which strangely enough seemed to calm down the little boy, but only a tiny bit.

Twinkletoes took this moment to prance around again, literally spinning in circles and making whooshing sounds with her arms spread out to either side of her.


Shining chuckled and leaned a bit so the book could be seen by everyone. It was the usual tale of the Ugly Duckling. However, Shining barely got more out than "Once upon a time..." before there was a loud thud and rattle of Twinkletoes slamming head first into a dresser. She fell back onto the floor, her eyes blinking dumbfounded towards the ceiling a moment before tears overwhelmed her. That HURT!!

Within an instant, Shining was on his hooves and across the floor, scooping up the crying child and cradling it. "Hey hey! You're ok! Just a bump on the head! No worries!" he cooed, attempting to calm the squalling kid. He made a quick once over her head to ensure there was no real injury, and he thanked his lucky stars she merely injured her pride and scared herself. She may form a bruise, but at this point it was too early to tell. However, his attempts went unnoticed, however and he quickly looked to Cadence for help! Afterall, she was the skilled babysitter here.

Aww...game would have to wait. Twinkle got an owwie. Moonlight pouted a bit, but then the pretty pink Pony set her brother down beside her. What? Cookies? Double cookies? What were double cookies? Didn't matter, had 'cookies' in it, had to be good. She leaned into the patting, seeming a bit disappointed when the other moved away. Meh, let sis have all the attention, if she got cookies instead.

She stared at Wild Moon for a moment. Nah, the cookies seemed to be only if they behaved, the lady said. Well, at least until Twinkle calmed down again, apparently. She could behave that long if she wanted to. Sure. Shrugging at Wild Moon, she took the only option she had to be sure she 'behaved.' She plopped herself down on the floor on her back, kicking her feet idly in the air, and stared at the ceiling. This would last maybe thirty seconds.
