The desert could be unkind. The god had learned the hardest way of all. A huge sandstorm had swept up his life over a hundred years before taking his home and his desert flower. He couldn't care less about the home but his heart ached for the loss of the gold lamp that held a beautiful genie. Even as the god of wishes, he couldn't wish her back. Selfish desires of his own couldn't be granted. He held guilt over the years having been in charge of her lamp until another unlucky soul came about for her to help. Together they could do almost anything.
Javaid sat in his rebuilt home, one that matched his last to a tee. His eyes closed he listened to those making wishes all over. The ones that wished the hardest were the loudest in his ears.

She remembered the noise of the wind, and the cries in her ears the most. Her body remembered straining to keep holding on to his hand, before finally being swept away and buried in the sands. That had been years ago, how many, she had lost track. But of course, she couldn't move. She had been stuck in her lamp for far too long, and when the golden metal finally hit the surface, she nearly collapsed. Her legs were not used to being upon the warm sands, having been cramped in her own prison for what seemed like an eternity.
And an eternity it had been. The land was foreign to Amara, far different than she remembered. Her home was gone, no, their home was gone. Perhaps if she had emerged.....
She looked around the area frantically, searching for another lamp nearby. None. Not even her powers could lead her to him. The goddess hung her head low, but then remembered. Maybe if she wished hard enough....
"Bring him back to me...Bring me back to him! Ooh, I don't care which it is, I just want our happiness together....Please..." She begged, wishing from the very bottom of her heart. She would give anything to have this work, anything! She'd give up anything just to see him one more time!

As the days had passed, he found his love of helping others diminished. There were wishes for mates, for friends, for lost items found. Getting up he dissapeared in a swirl of blue and green sand. He followed a whispered wish to the one it came from where he would reform faintly in a cloud of whirling sand. He spoke to the wisher and granted their wish. A leveled path emerged in the sand leading the lost soul to an oasis. He followed some time later to get a drink for himself.
While at the small pool of water, lapping up the cool liquid, his ears twitched. Someone was wishing very hard. For a mate from the sound of it. For once it wasn't a wish to find one for them, taking the adventure out of the whole thing. This.. was simply wanting to return to one. Then he honed in on the sad heartbreaking tone of her pleas. It made the god almost weep himself, knowing that despair. He hurried to the soul wishing. Wisps of colored sand swirling through the air over the desert sands. He couldn't find the sad female. Something blocked him from reaching out to grant her wish. It left his sandy trail to travel all over before sweeping back to his palace. Irritated he paced from room to room. He'd never had this issue before. At least not when he had his mate...

It wasn't working. She knew well enough that he would have been there in a heartbeat, that is, if he was still himself. Did he no longer care for her? Had he found another...? Or....Or was he gone? Amara didn't know what to do, stopping her pleas for the first time in hours. Her tail traced sadly though the sand as she bowed her head.
Oh how she missed him. They had been so happy together, years upon years ago, and then it had just been ripped apart. She wanted nothing more to be by his side again, no matter how long it would take. He couldn't be dead, could he? She doubted he would die easily, he never had given up fully. So she shouldn't give up either, right? Even if she wandered the desert for years, she would do so with just the hope of hearing word of him.
Thus, hanging her lantern on her tail, Amara began to walk, no destination or direction in mind. Perhaps she'd be lucky, and find someone who could help her. Perhaps not...But she couldn't find him unless she tried. Natelie ((I'll be gone until Sunday. Just a heads up! <3 ))

The desperate pleas continued until Javaid grew agitated pacing his room. Why couldn't he reach this one? He stood in place and yelled as loud as he could to release the tension and anger he felt. Moments later there was a quick knock at his bedroom door. Letting out a long huff, he waved a paw and the door opened inward. A medaria stepped inside, keenly aware of his problem without asking. She stopped within a few steps of the door and cleared her throat. "Lord, maybe it's not a normal medaria who is wishing." She moved in further and removed a silver plain looking bottle. "Remember gods of any kind, you can't grant for.." she spoke quietly to soothe his nerves.
His head lowered. Then his body, laying on the cool tile of the floor despite the overly warm day it had been. Why hadn't he remembered that? The one wishing so hard made it harder for him to think. He almost blocked the wishing from his mind when he glanced over at the girl again. There. She had already thought ahead for him, such a useful underling. "Summon that genie." he commanded without using a forceful tone. She nodded and set the bottle down upon the floor, rubbed it with the side of her paw then stepped back. Pink smoke billowed out from the top and formed a female genie that must have loved the color for that was all there was except for a few dashes of white. "Yes master?" she settled on the floor before him as he then rose. Normally he didn't use her genies since his mate had been in charge of them. Looking upon this one made his chest ache. "Mina there is someone wishing I cannot reach. I wish for you to find them and bring them here."
The genie smiled and bowed to the god. "Your wish is my command" she poofed into thin air, leaving wisps of pink smoke in her wake. Out in the desert another storm though little in comparison was blowing sand across the dunes. Making it a little longer to reach the one she was sent to collect. Oh but it wasn't hard to find her. The genie felt an old feeling and she grew giddy. It was her mistress she was sure of it! She popped into the goddess' location and bowed before her. "Mistress! Mina is so happy to have found you."

She had continued until she had collapsed in the sands, weak from her long years stuck in the sands. Her mouth begged for water, for food, and she couldn't bring up enough strength to call upon one of her genies to find her and help her. Perhaps even they'd know where her beloved was, if he too had emerged. Amara never wanted to give up, she wanted to believe her Javiad was still out there somewhere, maybe even looking for her! However, as time passed, her eyes slipped shut, and she fell into a slumber.
However, the calling of a name she hadn't heard for centuries awoke her again. 'Mistress'. Amara raised her head, coughing as she shook the sand off of her body again, tail still tightly holding her lantern. It was Mina. Mina the lover of pink, or was it salmon? She couldn't bring herself to care. "Yes...Did someone send for you? I haven't....Since I awoke...I haven't been able to use my own powers...I've grown too weak from neglect for the moment." She coughed, trying to wipe the sand off her own face. "What brings you?"

The little genie girl gasped at the sight of her mistress lain out against the sand, coughing as she spoke. She floated quickly to Amara to keep from kicking up sand to make matters worse. "Mistress!" Lowering, she nudged at her mistress' side, pushing her up a little. An elaborately adorned pitcher appeared above their heads and slowly poured water for Amara to drink from. Then a large feather fan popped into the air as well, expanding to shade over the two of them. It was the best she could do on her own without the help of an actual wish.
Mina eyed the latern that the mistress' tail held to. Relieved she kept a hold on it, she nuzzled lightly at Amara's shoulder "I should get you back quickly" she spoke in a soft tone. "If mistress could enter her lamp?" she suggested.
Javaid paced himself outside on a balcony over looking many of the sand dunes that were beyond his palace. Could someone have found her? Was she the one trying to wish for him? He felt anxious and worried for the prospect of who it might be.

Amara was thankful for the thoughtfulness of her charge, drinking heavily before she finally felt a bit of her strength return. The shelter from the sun only helped, and soon she was able to sit up, recovering little by little. However, what she really needed was a feast, a feast with a someone dear to her, and to be tucked in to bed, able to rest the night away. As long as he was at her side, she felt she could do anything.
"Back...?" She breathed. Oh by the stars, was he alive? Was he the one who sent her. She didn't even care, any tiny hope that it was Javaid that had sent Mina was worth countless wishes, no matter how excessive or great. She didn't argue, wisping back into her lamp with a small smile, ready to be brought to where ever it was, whomever it was that sent Mina.

Mina felt grateful that her mistress wasn't so terribly ill that she couldn't even revive her strength from what she could give her. Her small smile widened. Not just for seeing such a sight but knowing well enough that she wasn't going to be the only one so happy to see her. Many of Amara's charges were eagerly waiting to be useful again. They had no one to guide them since her dissapearence.
"Yes miss" she responded simply to her question. Not seeming to realize she needed more confirmation on the destination. She got up and grasped gently onto the lantern and poofed out of the desolate desert area she had found her in. Moments later she popped into the main hallway of the palace. Met by the handsome god that had been waiting for her. Tinkling bells set off by his gait as he strode up to her quickly, his blue eyes locked on the lamp she held to.
"Is it?" he asked, swallowing the dry lump. He could feel his heart pounding hard in anticipation. Mina nodded with a large grin as she set it down and slipped away unnoticed. He hadn't seen such a lovely sight in a hundred years just staring a moment at the object that held the love of his life. He felt this way every day he was able to look upon her. Lowering his muzzle he pressed against her lamp rubbing slowly until she would appear to him. He let out an audibly pleased breath. An almost sigh of relief. "Amara"

The return into her lamp was something she didn't think she'd enjoy, though found quickly that the rest was welcome. While the journey surely was a short one, she knew she needed even a moment of rest to meet whomever had called her. Her heart pounded, hoping it was who she wanted to see the most. Even if they only had one second together, she knew she could be happy at last, and for an eternity.
The anticipation was soon broken when she was freed from her lamp again, appearing in a small cloud of smoke herself. Yes, a thousand wishes answered, and she couldn't help but tear up at seeing him again. Despite her exhaustion, she had no problem with nuzzling as close as she could against, him, letting her tears flow freely down her cheeks. "I never stopped wishing for a day that I would see you again....I've missed you so much.."

Sitting down, he pulled her close to him with a paw wrapped around her shoulders. His head nuzzled and rested above hers with soft jingling of rustled bells. He had to steel his nerves from shaking. "I thought I had lost you forever" he whispered. Tilting his head to look at her beautiful face, he pressed his cheek against hers wiping away a few of her tears. "I couldn't let eternity pass without seeing you again my love" he murmured. She felt warmer then he remembered and a little weaker.
"You must be exhausted" he commented, looking her over. He didn't know what she had gone through but it must have been enough to wear her down. Standing up he helped her to his personal chamber which was just as she could remember it. He had even had Mina help re-add Amara's personal touches so she would feel comfortable. It hadn't been his bachelor space in hundreds of years. No matter how long he would have had to wait he wanted to keep her essence alive in the palace. "When you are ready, your genies are waiting to be released to the lands again. I have been so far behind on wish granting without them."

Amara's heart felt like it was about to give out of happiness, letting her tears flow freely as he held her close. She wanted to admit how much she had missed him, how she would give anything to just see him again, but when she tried to, she choked out a sob, nuzzling closer against him. It was alright now, he was here by her side, and would be for as long as he could. Her legs wanted to give out, not wanting her to move away from him at all.
"I am...I've waited so long for this..I've missed you so much, I feel like my heart is going to burst...!" She sobbed, pressing more up against him, wanting nothing more than to listen to his heartbeat and rest with him. She appreciated his help, stumbling every now and then, though she gasped at seeing their room again, tearing up. Not for a day had he given up on her, and she felt so completely loved. If she was ever torn from him again, she wasn't sure she could ever deal with the feeling again! "Tomorrow...Tomorrow I'll get to it, when I've rested." She breathed, feeling her exhaustion start to take over. "When I'm sure I'm not dreaming...Ah what a fantastic one if it is.."

He felt as if he might melt into a puddle with all of the overwhelming feelings. But he could puddle into their favorite spot. He kept her close for the mutual feeling of a dream. It had been a constant revision when he let himself drift off that he would find her again. What a sweet agony for this all to be a another to wake up from. It made him worry of holding on to her too tight.
He nuzzled against her cheek, the door to their room closing on its own. "If it's a dream, its being shared between us and I would never wish to wake." he murmured. Guided her to the pile of pillows that stretched out wide as their bed. "I wouldn't want to rush you love if I didn't know it wasn't important to both of us. Tonight however is different." He settled beside her, curling his tail over hers. The star that swept through the air around him landed to rest in her raven hair. He smiled and tenderly kissed her face. Each slow movement sounded off the bells in a faint jingle of music.
"As beautiful as that first fateful night we met." His kisses stopped and he laughed softly. "She just might top my own thrill to see you again." As much as he loved their adopted goddess, he quickly refocused back on the one beside him. The one who felt so warm against his side once more. He could wish away the world itself if it left just the two of them. "Will you grant me a wish my love? I wish to hear no wishes till morning so I can lay here in quiet peace with you all night." Whether she could actually quiet them or not was irrelevant. He curled his body around his lovingly, both paws curled around her. The familiar sweet smell of the blue flower on his left paw resting over her front legs. She had made it smell like her for him to carry it with him always.

Feelings were pouring down from her eyes still as tears, though she was far more than content to settle down with him once more, as they had after a long day of work. Work sounded like a blessing, especially with him at her side once more.
"I would give anything just to stay like this with you for an eternity..." She breathed, finally collapsing in the bed of pillows. She was quick to settle up against him though, not wanting to let him go for anything. She was just so happy to be back with him again, and didn't hesitate in intertwining their tails, simply beaming as he kissed her, feeling the happiness overwhelm her.
"It was quite the night, wasn't it? I don't think I've stopped loving you a bit, it's only grown stronger..." She breathed, laughing as well. "Has she been well? I can only imagine what my absence might have caused..." She missed her family, even if it was just her darling and the child they brought up. Her own thoughts briefly mused upon perhaps having a family with him...Children of their own, a family they could love and raise....But at his request for a wish, perhaps... "If you'll grant one of mine, my dearest...." She smiled, feeling sleep start to curl around her. "One day...when we're ready..I want a family of our own, okay..? It doesn't have to be now, or even within the next years. Just someday...I'm never leaving your side again." With that breath, she reached into herself, feeling the connections to the many genies, and quietly bade them welcome, letting them once more roam free and grant the wishes of the lands. This alone took all the strength she could muster, and soon enough she felt her eyes quietly start to slip closed, her breaths slow and steady. "I love you so much..." She breathed, finally letting sleep take her.
Her dreams were peaceful, full of wonders and such fond memories. No longer were they plagued with sand and howling winds, and Amara did not wake until morning, fully rested and refreshed.
