Haziel had been in her new pride long enough now to start hunting and really being a productive member of the ranks. She loved it. She loved having something to do, and helping everyone by doing it. She loved going home to Ghubari at the end of her day even if she did not spend the day with him. Most of her days WERE spent with him since he was a hunter as well. But even on the days that she was not with him, she got to go home to him and snuggle up to him. She was enjoying every moment of that and trying to fatten the male up already. It was her duty as mate afterall. Haziel padded around out in the open, looking at all the lions lounging here and there. There were so many of them it was hard to know where to start on making any kind of friends. She knew she had to make an effort to be sociable, though, and that meant she needed to find someone to speak with. Who would be the best choice? The purple lioness sighed to herself and tried not to look too desperate as she debated whom to approach for a conversation. She felt so lost and it was such an odd feeling in this sea of lions.

Ryndir was out among the pride as usual, though unlike most cubs, his parent's were well aware of his absence. They had allowed it, under the agreement that he would stay under the watchful eye of his Nanny, Izzy. He had agreed, as he knew Izzy had a very keen eye. He knew no matter how far he traveled, she would be not far behind. Her ever watching eyes always on his back. But enough about Izzy! Why was he out here in the first place? Well, he was here for the same reason, he was always here. To soak in the pride's culture, to learn everything he could about everyone. To put it bluntly, he was here to be nosy. But no one really needed to know that. Ryndir scanned the pride with boredom, noting the different lions he'd already spoken with. Making mental notes of the ones he would like to speak to again, and those he needed to avoid like the plague. There weren't many of those types of lions around ... but they were around. As he scanned the area to his left, a dark shade of purple caught his eye and sent the cub into a frenzy. He'd never seen her before, she was definitely new. He had to speak to her, find out who she was, and what her story was. Eager to begin, he sprinted off after her, all the while yelping for her attention.

Haziel heard the voice calling and stopped in her tracks, looking around. She did not know that it was directed at her, but it was certainly insistent. She wanted to know what was going on. The fact that it was a cub's voice made it all the more interesting to her as the lioness stood up on her hind legs to better look around the pride for the cub. She did a very good meerkat impression just then if she did say so herself, but it did help her to see the cub dashing her way as it called out. She at first thought he might be looking for his parents, but a she got closer, it was quite apparent that he wanted her attention. Haziel was intrigued to say the least. She waited for the cub to catch up to her and sat down on her haunches. She was pretty sure he had seen her do the whole meerkat thing already so he likely thought she was pretty weird already. When he got to her, the lioness put her nose down to his. "Who are you, little one? What are you doing out here without your parents?" She would let him answer the why he wanted her attention later. There were some things that one really should ask before doing anything else when it came to cubs.

Ryndir nearly slammed on the brakes of his paws when he saw the lioness stand on her hind legs. How was she doing that? He couldn't stand on his back legs for anything! And believe him - he'd tried. Especially when he was trying to climb something, his little paws just couldn't handle the weight. But this lioness? There she was, still standing on those hind paws! He would have to get her to teach him that trick ... one way or another. Finally he reached the lioness, and skidded to a halt in front of her. He frowned as he arrived, having noticed she was now back to a normal standing position. Darn it! He'd been hoping to take some notes on her stance! But he had little time to stop and wonder about her little trick, before the lioness was demanding answers to questions she didn't need to ask. "I'm Ryndir!" He answered rather quickly, tilting his head in curiosity at the female. "And i'm not alone! My Nanny is out here watching me! I bet if you stand on your feet again, you could see her! She's a big scary lioness with weird orange markings!" Nodding his head the entire time, Ryndir found himself less interested in her questions and more interested in who she was. "So who are you? I've never seen you before, and I know everybody!"

Haziel chuckles at the cub before her, reaching out with a paw to poke him in the chest gently. "You are out here with a big scary nanny, huh? Are you sure you need one of those? Big cub like you does not seem like he needs watching." She winks at him and tilts her head almost upside down to look at him. She was trying to amuse the cub and take him off guard. The lioness did love cubs, but she also loved watching their reactions when faced with something out of the ordinary. They had such interesting ways of seeing things and acting toward things. Rather like her mate had done when the first met. "I am Haziel daughter of Lady Yofiel, born to the Noble of House Azrael of the Ardhi'Mvringo'Patano pride and former resident of the L1 Colony of said pride." Haziel straightened up and stood on her hind legs again, striking a pose and looking quite impressive for a moment. She did not really take herself seriously, but it was amusing to do it. She was entertaining to herself at least, even if she was not to the cub that was sitting in front of her. She loved being funny.

Ryndir tilted his head curiously as the female began to question his motives. Well of course he was a big cub and didn't need watching! But try telling that to his parents! He chuckled lightly, and rolled his eyes at the female. "Well ... I don't really need one, but Mom says I do ... and well ... you know Moms!" Grinning sheepishly he rolled his eyes in mock agitation. He loved his Mother, but sometimes she was a bit overprotective. "Besides Izzy isn't SO bad, if I ever get into trouble, she's always there to save me." Pausing for a moment, his eyes lit up in excitement. "She's like a superhero or something! She can even see the future!" Ryndir's tail flicked lazily behind him as he listened to her introduction. By the time she finished, his jaw was wide open in awe. "Wow, that's a lot of titles!" He mumbled, trying to form them all together in his mind. "So why aren't you a resident anymore. What made you leave home?"

Haziel puts her paws down on the ground again and sits back on her haunches. "I left because of war. I and several siblings were stolen from my family as a cub, by rebels that wished to rip our pride apart. We were raised by them, but managed to get away as adolescents and return to our parents." She wonders how much the cub will understand about her explanation, but eh, she certainly can keep going and see can't she? This pride did not have to worry about war, but perhaps the cub would know enough to follow what she was saying. It was no loss if he did not understand. "I left our pride to clear my head and get away from war... I met a male from this pride on my journey..." Haziel smiles at the thought of how she had met Ghubari and taught him to hunt. "I decided I wanted to stay here with him. Titles and position are all well and good, but love and security are worth more than any of that." The lioness gave herself a good stretch and looked smug. Oh yes, she had given up a lot in her home pride for Ghubari, and she had never even told him that!

Haziel had the cub's attention whether she wanted it or not. He was hanging on her every word, she was saying a lot of things, and making many bold claims. He couldn't help but wonder if some of them were true ... Typically he wouldn't believe such bold statements, but this lioness seemed very genuine, in a way he couldn't quite put his paw on. "Oh! So you got away from the bad guys? That's good!" Nodding his head excitedly, he patted his paws along the ground as he listened on. "Well? WHO'S THE MALE?!" His voice was high, and tight with excitement, but he couldn't help himself. Everything she said was like opening a new door in his mind. A door he hadn't had opened before. "Whoever he is, it sounds like you really like him. Do you think you two will get married one day?!" Grinning sheepishly from ear to ear, Ryndir perked his ears high in the air as he awaited her answer.

Haziel certainly had done a good job hooking the cub's attention! How had she managed that? Well, even though she did not know how she had done it really, she was not going to stop now. This was fun and all she had to do was tell about herself so it was easy as could be. She was starting to wonder if having cubs was going to be this easy for her. If her cubs were as simple to entertain as this little guy, she was going to have a cakewalk of motherhood. Who would have thought her horrible past would be so useful? "My mate is Ghubari. He is a hunter here... he was not much older than you when I first met him. We are mated now, and going to have cubs one day." Haziel grinned right back at the cub. She might have to keep an eye on this cub. He seemed like he was an interesting little guy. She could not help but be curious as to what kind of adult he would turn into. "What about you? Do you think you will find love one day, young one? Perhaps a pretty female to sweep your paws out from under you, hmm?"

"That's silly!"Ryndir claimed, ushering his paw in her direction and giggling. "How could you meet your mate if he's my age? If he's a hunter that means he's an adult ..." Haziel could probably see the smoke burning from the cub's ears as he tried to process it all. Though he was getting a bit confused. "That sounds neat though! I bet you'll be a cool mom! ESPECIALLY IF YOU TEACH THEM THAT TRICK!" He giggled happily, still hoping to pester her into teaching him. But as the tempo changed and the little cub came under fire, he could feel himself getting nervous. His tummy began to ache, and his paws got really sweaty. "I uh ... I .. I think I hear my Nanny calling! It was nice meeting you!" He yelped, quickly standing on his paws and darting away. One thing Ryndir didn't like, was to be questioned.
