This old training facility hasn't been used for ages by the Fourth Division up until recently by co-lieutenant Shu Fēng Hiroshi and Nocella Kurenai as part of Shu's training. This place has been put off limits and entry isn't permitted unless one has the proper permit.

Not only was the Fourth the bane of her existence, she didn't even know why she was doing this s**t in the first place. Oh right, blackmail. Remind me to send the kid home with a few more bruises than usual. she thought to herself. Standing at the door, Nocella felt through her pockets until her fingers came into contact with a hard rectangular square. Pulling it out, she scanned the card to open the door and let her in to the Division's super secret hideout. As the door slid shut, Nocella looked around, but no one was here. Seriously? The damn kid called her all the way out here for training, and she wasn't even going to be punctual? She'd have to berate her for that with a few more bruises later. Unlike most teachers, Nocella had the most brutal and unorthodox methods to date. Tough luck, but it wasn't like she signed up for this. The kid would have to deal with it on her own.

Shu Fēng Hiroshi - Co-Lieutenant of the Fourth Division 
Shu rolled her eyes as her father made her call her sensei for their usual training session, as he found it pointless to do so. She just learned her final shikai weapon. Why the hell did she need training anyways? "s**t, that's right. I have no damn clue how to use the weapon." Shu sighed, as she hated that one fact about her zanpakuto. Most people only had to worry about mastering one weapon style and that was that, but nope, that wasn't the case with Shu. She needed to master five different weapons before even considering her training for bankai.
Such a bothersome task this was for her, and she especially wasn't looking forward to training with Noci today, as she heard she was in a pretty bad mood. Then again, when wasn't she. Sighing, she arrived at the entrance of the training grounds and reached for her entrance card and heard a beeping sound. She opened the doors to the training grounds and closed it after her, as an invisible kido barrier was placed around the training grounds, to ensure absolute privacy for these two. "Yo sensei, when are we going to start?"

"Nocella." she corrected. "Training always starts as soon as you walk through the door. Or have you forgotten already?" she said sharply. Ugh, this was such an annoyance. One by one, Nocella had taught Shu each style of fighting that went with each weapon. Four time, over. Here came the fifth time. While she had experience, having the same type of Zanpakuto as Shu, she still prided herself on being flexible and able to use anything as a weapon. With a bored look, she sauntered over to the wall. In a split second flash, she had kicked one of the bokken off the wall, flipped it into her left hand, and sending the blunt side straight towards the side of Shu's head in a whack. Despite training Shu in her Shikai, she was going to start with a bokken first before moving on to her Zanpakuto. A wooden stick should be more than enough of a challenge for her, until she stepped up the odds.

Shu rolled her eyes, as she apologized for calling her sensei that. She then noticed that her sensei appeared right in front of her, with a bokken coming straight towards her head. Before she could react, she instinctively reached with her palms to stop the stick. She was able to grab it, but the force of the swing did throw Shu off guard and she eventually tripped and hit the ground. "Ugh, come on!" Shu seemed upset, as he immediately used shunpu, and appeared next to a wall, where she grabbed a bokken that was the same to what Nocella had in her hands.
"The hell was that for Sensei? You always seem to forget safety every damn time we do these training sessions. Though when the hell can I learn to use Nihon no ryū Rīchi? You know damn well naginata's aren' my strong suit and I could use the training by now. I doubt these sticks are going to do me any good sensei." She then vanished, as she appeared behind Nocella, as she swung her bokken straight towards the back of her sensei's neck.

"Safety? Your safety isn't my concern. My only concern is training you right." she retorted. As Shu vanished with another Shunpo, Nocella didn't move as she appeared behind her. She simply slid the length of the bokken down her shoulder, blocking the attack without even turning around. As soon as the attack was stopped, Nocella dropped into a crouch, the palm of her free hand on the floor to steady her balance. In one fluid motion, she swung her leg back, aiming to trip up her legs from under her, while simultaneously turning to face the irritating child. She didn't waste a single motion with her move, making every single one of them count. "If the stick won't do you any good, drop it and get serious then." she snapped.

However, her emotions were letting her sensei get the best of her, as she suddenly fell again for the second time at the hands of her teacher. Hearing her sensei snap annoyed Shu, as she got up and reached her zanpakuto. She raised it at Nocella and shouted out loud, "Rise, Sensō no megami!" With a determined, but clearly frustrated tone, she activated her shkai, and it simply vanished into nothing, as Shu remained with her bare fists. "Let's get serious then. Nihon no ryū Rīchi!" Smirking after that, Shu reached her arms out, as her shikai weapon fell from the sky.
An elegant black and gold naginata was in Shu's hands, as she got into a pose she believed was proper based off what she saw in the past with those that have wielded such weapons in the past. Her form was off and her center of gravity was pretty bad for wielding such a weapon. Shu then vanished, appearing a few feet above Nocella, as she swung her shikai weapon straight towards her sensei, as she spun her body to deliver a more brutal attack.

If she was a normal person, she might've started laughing aloud. However, this was training, and she wasn't going to let trivial emotions get in the way of her blade. As Shu did yet another Shunpo, she appeared in the air and swung the naginata in a downward arc towards her. The obstinate child was laughable! Her stance was atrocious, and she could hardly wield it on solid footing, let alone in the air. It seemed like she was letting frustration swing her blade for her. As she swung her blade down, Nocella pinpointed all her weak points. By spinning in midair, she was going to topple herself forward if she missed. And miss she did. Nocella ducked low and rolled forward, immediately spinning back and striking the bokken towards the back of her knee. A little boost to help her lose her already faltering balance. She was going to be lucky if she didn't fall into her own blade, and luckier, even, if she managed to dodge it.

Her eyes widened, as she hit the floor, and rolled a few times before dropping her shikai and finally stopped. "s**t!" She eventually got up and grabbed her shikia once more, getting into the same improper position that she was in before. Only this time, Shu was showing some restraint unlike earlier times.
Sure she hated every single bit about training with her sensei, as she hated the techniques that she used to teach Shu, but at the end of the day, she was the reason why she mastered the other four shikai weapons that she possessed. Sighing, Shu looked at her sensei, who was clearly pissed by her attitude from earlier. "Sorry about that Nocella. I'm just frustrated about this all. Just want to learn how to use this damn weapon already is all." Sighing, she still stood in the same improper position that she was in before.

You think Captains learn Bankai overnight? It took me a thousand years to learn it, let alone master it." she said matter-of-factly. giving a dissatisfied release of breath, she sauntered over and started tapping at Shu's hands with her bokken. "One hand high, one hand low. You want your grip strong enough to grab it, but loose enough to swing it." she said, walking in a circle around Shu. "Legs wider apart, one behind the other. Bend your knees only slightly. Don't let the weight of the weapon bend you over." she said impatiently, whacking the parts of her body that were all wrong. Once she had made a full revolution, she bore her bokken down on the naginata, forcing it to the ground. "Tip down. Always down. If you try to keep it lifted off the ground, you waste stamina and you lose your balance." she instructed, taking a step back to appraise her fixed form. Once she got it, Nocella would swing her bokken up to rest on her shoulder. "Good, at least you don't look like a blundering idiot now. Now try the following: a lunge, a swing, and a block. Aim here." she said, tapping her own upper body with the length of her bokken. As soon as she had attempted to try the first two, Nocella would launch an attack with her bokken, expecting her to parry it with her naginata. This was no ordinary wooden stick attack though. She made sure to put her full body weight behind it, aiming to topple her off balance if her stance after attacking wasn't solid.

She hated the fact that she had to wait so long just to achieve her bankai. However, she couldn't just jump straight into her bankai training without first mastering her last shikai weapon. She remained attentive, as she heard what Nocella had to say. She placed one hand high and the other slightly lower than what she had it at earlier. Her grip was loosened a little and she spread her legs out a bit, bending her knees at the right position. Once ready, Shu prepared herself for her move.
With that, Shu began her sequence of moves, as she lunged the weapon, followed by a swift swing. However, she immediately noticed Nocella's bukken heading straight towards her, as she immediately attempted to block the attack. She narrowly avoid it, as she smirked and looked at her sensei with a cocky face. "Huh. This doesn't look so hard now. Shall we go at it again?" Shu was clearly acting differently, as she seemed more motivated and not so hell bent from her emotions.

"Better. We'll talk once you manage to slice my bokken in half." she commented, twirling her wooden sword with her wrist. "Maybe we'll move on, if you can, that is." she smirked. The training session seemed to be pointless, but it would teach her how to adjust her stance, how to swing the naginata, as well as how to accurately use it. Shu needed to learn how to use a long range weapon, as well as the accuracy of the blade. You couldn't get a better feel for it than using it in battle. And with a target as small and thin as a bokken, she'd have to push past her limits to get it.
Nocella switched hands with her bokken. Though she was ambidexterous, her dominant hand was still her left hand. However, during training sessions, she usually used her right hand, since those were the types of people that Shu would predominantly be fighting. A left handed swordsman was much harder to block, and had a whole other range of techniques to put into play. For this training session, she'd be using right handed Kendo. Lifting her blade with both hands and adjusting her stance, she pulled the sword back before charging at Shu. She jabbed with the bokken, specifically aiming for weak spots in her stance and breaks in her guard. Though the naginata imposed a certain length while battling, you were vulnerable if the opponent got past the blade-length of the weapon. Even if you did manage to swing it, the force of the pole wouldn't generate nearly enough force to knock the opponent back, or even dodge.

This was just what she wanted to hear, as she was dying to master her final shikai weapon. Sighing, Shu noticed that Nocella began her series of attacks, she attempted to dodge the attacks with her naginata, but failed in dodging, and was knocked back by said attack. She stumbled to the ground and rolled her eyes again, as she hated every single part of this training sessions. This was going to be a lot harder than she wanted it to be, but she knew damn well that this was essential if she were ever begin bankai training. With that, she got back up on her feet and continued her attempts at cutting her sensei's bokken.

This time, she let Shu press her attack, balancing her bokken on the tip of her index finger and stepping back with each attack. The bokken swayed dangerously back and forth in the air, but it didn't topple. "You're putting too much body weight behind your attacks. It's not a sword." she said, irritated. "Keep correcting your stance. Your swings are too wide." she droned on, dodging her attacks with subtle shifts in her body movement. "Your weapon is meant for long distance attacking. Exploit that too much and you open up holes in your guard. You need to understand your range of influence. Once anything slips past the blade of your naginata..." she paused, letting her bokken drop, grabbing it in midair and lunging around her blade, she drove the tip of her bokken straight towards her shoulder. The force wouldn't be enough to dislocate or anything, but it would hurt like a b***h if it landed.

She narrowly dodged the attack by moving sideways. Watching the bokken slide right by her, Shu smirked, as she swung her naginata by using some of her body weight with that little slide of hers. However, she made the same mistake from before of making her swings far too wide. She needed to learn fast the range of her weapon and how to use tha properly.
