She really had no luck with this type of thing, Daesat had been less than thrilled at finding out that Xenosa had not only been unable to kill a dragon, she’d ******** the whole thing up! Dae had sent her right back out after a reprimand and Xen went grudgingly. It certainly was not because she was afraid of the be damned beasts, Dae understood that much, but Xen had no fighting bone in her body yet and she needed to be pushed so they could grow those bones. The process looked like it was going to be a slow and painful one.
Daesat had warned Xenosa to stay with the Ysali for a little while, which Xen understood that the she was going to have to get very familiar with the green dragons if she wanted to advance beyond that point. Xen went out into a field this time; she was bound to come face to face with a dragon at some point in time. That time came much sooner than Xen thought, for she ran straight into a medium sized Ysali who had been feasting upon a prey it had captured in between its talons. The beast turned quickly towards the one who had disturbed it and roared.
If there was one thing that Daw had taught Xenosa was that if you could fight and kill your opponent without them seeing you, then you better make sure it happens. This was one of those instances where Xenosa completely agreed with her instructor, and she turned around and began running as fast as she could. The Ysali however, had been quite content with its current feast which was not off running and did not pursue the one who had disturbed it. Daesat would once again be disappointed, but at this point Xen was starting to believe that fighting dragons first was a bad idea.
