Winta was excited to be heading back to Zena and this time she made sure to make her own heavy coat and boots to withstand the frigid air. Her clothes were still a little too thin but there was a limit that she could put on. Traveling from Tale to Zena was nothing but hot and if she had too many layers or too much to carry the whole trip could be a disaster. She didn't want to collapse in the desert. No one would find her there. This time she was armed with some prototype weapons, mostly having to deal with scaling the ice mountains here in Zena for Ruelash to try out. He'd visited her in Tale only a week ago but she was eager to try different materials on the ice.

After a very long journey it seemed, Winta arrived in Zena with her coat clasped tightly around her and a large pack on her back and a near-perfect spear in her hand. That was also something she had wanted to share with Rue. She'd made a spear worthy of using. It wasn't perfect, at least by her standards, but it would certainly protect her in a fight and would hold up against an animal as well. The sun could almost be seen shining out of her. Winta immediately headed to Rue's home. She'd never been there before but he'd sort of explained it when he had come to Tale to visit. Then again, she only had to ask one earthling where he lived. Everyone knew where Rue lived.

"Rue!" She called out, before knocking on the door. He had to be home right? Winta hadn't really thought about letting him know ahead of time that she was coming. Now that she thought about it though she didn't think he would mind. If he did then tuff nuggets. She was here with awesome toys and he'd quickly warm up to her unannounced arrival. Well, he would if he wanted to play with these toys. "I brought you something." She said a little lower through the door with a smile.

Borra
It had taken every ounce of his being to not laugh at his sister's miserable expression. After all they had been instructed to go gather fire wood (a much harder task in this almost treeless place) by their father. Since neither of them knew how to hunt or showed any interest in hunting...other jobs had been handed down to them.

"Oh don't look so surely Sin'qua, at least it's a nice day, and hey I can practice my lute out here." The boy beamed having snuck the instrument out of the house with only his sister being aware of it. Having the string reattached due to the help of a new friend of his he was strumming his thumb over the cords and trying to tune it best he could by guess work.

Sin'qua

Her arms were firmly across her chest in annoyance, you'd swear that her eye was twitching every time her brother struck a cord that was off key. The young woman had never intended on following her brother this far on the ridiculous task they had been set out to do. The woman was a lazy and she would much rathered of stayed home in the warmth of the hearth. Though that had been how their mother had managed to guilt them both into going...

"Will you stop it." She hissed when Borra managed to strike another off cord, "Its bad enough that we have to be out here in the first place without you making all that noise." It was obvious that the girl was not overly fond of her brother's new toy and when she had seen him sneaking it out of the house she had half a mind to tell their mother about it, but Borra was already doing half her chores without complaint as part of her deal to not squeal on him. She may be shrewd but she was honorable.

they had been traveling awhile now and up ahead though neither of them seem to be paying much mind was a strange girl standing outside the door of one of the residence there.

Ruelash was not inside the house. No, he was on the roof, grumpily taking a break from his general life. He had a warm meal digesting in his belly and a few things he needed to repair in the hut, and he just felt like lying on the roof. He growled in annoyance as someone decided to ruin the perfectly good silence with off-key annoying sounds. They say that music can tame the savage beast, but Rue hadn't found any that did that for him. They were aways so strident and dischordant. Give him natural noises and he was happy... or as happy as he could be not hitting something or covered in blood.
He listened to the people below, wishing they would go away, that they would all go away. Until he heard something unexpected: a familiar voice that should not be here... and one he actually didn't mind.
Surprised, he scrambled to the edge of the roof and tried to perch there and see for himself if it was the strange leaf girl who was real in a way that nobody else was.
It was. And she was knocking on the hut. His sister's hut, rather. Didn't matter.
"Winta?!" he said, surprised. He would have managed more, but in his surprise he lost his balance and fell off the roof, landing on his back in the snow near her with an 'oomph' and a growl of annoyance.

When Winta had arrived at the hut she had only briefly noticed that there were two other people nearby and one of them wasn't very good at playing the lute. Who was she to complain when she had taken months just to make this glorious spear in her hand? Maybe he was new to playing it? Winta could have thought up a million excuses as to why the boy played an out of tune lute and none of them had anything to do with the notion that he might not be able to play it. You had to start somewhere in the learning process.

The smile on her face grew when she saw Ruelash lean over the edge of the roof. Only it was quickly replaced with shock as the boy fell to the snow covered ground. "Ruelash!" She said with an intake of breath before rushing to his side. "Are you okay?" Sure the fall off the roof was nothing compared to a fall from a tree but with all the snow and ice, it probably didn't feel too good. Besides, Ruelash was her friend. Most likely her best friend. So being worried about him falling from the hut was normal.

Ruelash fumed silently in embarassment for a moment as he asessed himself. He hurt, but somehow he hadn't broken his a**, his head, his arms, or his legs. His ego was bruised, but his ego was a strange beast used to testing itself against ferocious and deadly forces. It was less falling in front of a pretty girl and more falling off of his safe roof that bothered him. Still bothered him.
"... M'fine..." he grumbled, sitting up. He had been intending to stand and glare, but it occurred to him that this was Winta. That Winta. He stood and brushed himself off.
"I'm fine." he said, a little more pleasantly, which meant that it was actually not Hostile and surly.
"Winta. You're here."

Borra

About to retort to his sister's complaint, although retort was a strong word to use as he merely wanted to point out how nice a day it was and how lucky they were that they were being sent to do a chore that didn't actually involve any heavy labor.

Of course he was cut off abruptly when out of the corner of his eye he spotted a person on the roof of a hut. Of course this was where the young woman was standing...and then he was falling off the roof. He could be hurt!

Moving forward in a semi jog run he rushed as best he was able to in the snow towards the duo.

"Oh wow! That was quite the fall are you alright?" He inquired looking quite concerned as he was the type who would just..rush in to help someone.

Sin'qua

Though Sin'qua saw the fellow fall off the roof, she was hardly the type who would go rushing of to see if the person was okay, unlike her brother who didn't need prompting to be a moron and rush on ahead. The only plus side being that if he was moving that quickly he couldn't play his stupid lute.

Oh how she wished he would just...break that thing.

Slowly she came up from behind her arms still crossed in front of her as she appraised the situation. Part of her wanted to state that being on the roof to begin with had been stupid, but instead she looked to Winta and then to Ruelash before blowing her bangs out of her eyes.
