Yaholo wasn't quite sure why he had decided to take another path home today rather than stick to his normal route. He felt a little more adventurous than usual, and while that might have been the reason why he was wandering, it was still out of character. ...Sort of. He walked as normal, leisurely and without a care, his beloved hammer strung against his back.
As he walked, he soon discovered he was heading towards a known Shifter settlement called Ast, and paused. Should he venture through? Would anyone recognize him from when he had protected his sisters? How many guys did he kill again...? One? Two? Did didn't he let someone go? His expression grew serious as he thought, his gazed moving towards a nearby tree.

Kelina was up in the trees again, as it seemed she always was. Lasarra was still packing but they were supposed to meet up today for a break from, well everything. The two girls were got together so well and Kel was looking forward to when Lasarra was going to move in. But she understood that she wanted time with her mother before she left. She sat up in the trees lazily until she heard someone coming. Thinking it might be her sister, she jumped down from the trees only to be disappointed that it wasn't. It was an alkidike, but a strange looking one. "You're a little ways from home aren't you?" Kel said, her voice held little emotion, if anything, curiosity. He must be a halfbreed, which didn't matter to her, many halfbreeds called Ast home.
That's when she noticed the hammer on his back, hadn't she heard something about some halfbreed coming through and killing a few people? Mentally, she shrugged. She'd have to be on her guard, of course, but she was with everyone. Leaning against a tree, Kelina didn't look threatening at all, which wasn't really a bad thing. At least the stranger had chosen a path, Kel still had yet to decide hers.

Yaholo scooted back a little as Kelina hopped out of the tree. Man, he really needed to work on assessing his surrounding before he just stood around idly like that. A guard always needed to be on his toes, there was no room for standing around like an idiot. He gave her a quick once over and eventually smiled, she didn't appear to be a threat, and step forward.
"Yeah, I decided to take a different route back home today." He said, chuckling. "I live in Tale and I don't need to be home for a little while yet, so, I figured a little wandering would be so bad." He rubbed the back of his head, his arm knocking his hammer a little, and smiled nervously. "Aha, anyway. This is Ast, right?"

It seemed like she had scared the poor guy, Kel thought with a smile. "Yes this is." She said, gesturing to a few of the structures that were on the outskirts of town. So he was from Tale, huh? Kelina had always wondered what it was like outside Juahar. "You're from Tale? What's it like? I've never been outside of Juahar and I've always wanted to travel." Her head was cocked as she looked at him. He seemed like a traveler, and a traveler would know a lot about many different places, right? The guy seemed fairly nice and it wasn't like Kelina had anywhere she needed to be, she could afford to have a nice conversation.

Yaholo smiled. Ah, so this is where Ast was. He'd have to remember that for future when he wanted to travel around. He shifted on his footing to lean against a tree and tapped his chin. What was Tale like...? Hm, well, to him it was home. It was a much of a home as Andile was, except with heaps of sand and crystal grass. He smiled to himself, now that he thought of it, Tale was pretty bland compared to Jauhar. Barely any color, save for the trees and crystal grass here and there.
"Well, Tale is very dry and hot." He began. "We get rain sometimes, but for the most part, it's scorching hot and filled with sand. You'd need to bring a lot of water with you if you wanted to travel through there."

"Pardon my bluntness but that sounds like a terrible place to live...I guess it's one of those things that grow on you?" Kelina asked. She couldn't imagine living anywhere other than Juahar. While she couldn't imagine living anywhere else, that didn't mean she didn't want to see anything. Kel had thought of traveling for quite some time, she had just never gotten around to the actual leaving part. She had explored a little bit since meeting her sister, often wandering around while she waited.
"I'm Kelina, by the way." She said with a simple smile, her hand out stretched to shake his in greeting. Since he didn't seem like too much of a threat, only being considered a threat because of the big hammer on his back, she might as well indulge in pleasantries.

Yaholo laughed. Sure, it was a hard place to live, but it was his. He loved his tree home, his dusty forest paths, and his buddies who made pretty much every day livable. It certainly wasn't somewhere he'd recommend everyone he had ever met to took up roost in. Some people were built for Tale, just like some people were built for Jauhar, he just happened to be built for both.
"My name is Yaholo." He replied, shaking her hand. "It's nice to meet a shifter who is as polite as you are."

Shaking her head, her face held a small smirk. Sure shifters weren't always the kindest or most polite, especially to other earthlings. "Hey not all of us are bad!" Kel said with a laugh of her own. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yaholo." Her eyes still floated back over to his hammer when her curiosity got the best of her. "I see you have a hammer....is it yours?" She asked somewhat dumbly. Of course it was his, unless he was transporting it for someone....she supposed she had reason enough to ask. Her curiosity mostly but she should make sure he's not some thief right? Kel doubted that, he didn't seem as shifty as a thief would be.

"Yes, I suppose not! Just like how not all Alkidikes are bad!" Yaholo chuckled. Kelina seemed very nice, a refreshing thing to encounter after having such a rough introduction to the Shifter tribe. He felt comfortable talking to her, it was nice. He smiled and nodded at her question and plucked the hammer off his back.
"Yeah, I just go it!" He said, a very visible amount of pride to his voice. "I wasn't sure if I could wield it at first, but it didn't turn out to be as difficult as I thought it would be." He studied it a moment before placing it back on his back and facing Kelina again. "Are you pursuing any sort of class?" He asked.

Kelina laughed hard at that. "My sister is half Alkidike so I know that one is at least partially true!" She said truthfully, a genuine smile on her face. Yaholo was pretty cool! He had that neat hammer and was really nice! "I'm not sure if I would ever have enough strength to wield such a heavy weapon! I've given a lot of thought to it, and I've always loved archery. I'm just not sure if I'm good enough to make it my profession." If Kel was anything, it definitely wasn't arrogant. She knew her limits and knew when she wasn't as good as she could be in one particular thing. Yaholo's obvious pride in his hammer was kind of endearing, it made her wonder if she would be like that once she finally chose a class.

Ooo, archery! His father was the "best hunter in his village", as the elder man had always boasted. Other hunters were always trying to take his bows or something, but Yaholo was sure that his father was just making things up to make himself seem cool. He chuckled to himself and scratched his chin, he'd seen plenty of female archers in his village, they were just as good as the men!
"Well, I was always good at keeping my younger sister safe." He said, a thoughtful look upon his face. "But I had always thought I was going to be a hunter like my father. Then, once I realized that I didn't like pursuing my father's path, I decided to try doing something I love." He reached for his hammer and struck a mock defensive pose. "Guarding all those who need to be protected!"
Then he chuckled and placed the hammer back where it belonged. "You should try to find something that you enjoy doing," He said. "Then, once you have that set, try to make it into something that's as useful to everyone else as it is to you."

So he had siblings, did he? That was probably why he was so nice. Then, when he said he had thought about following his father's profession, it had made her think how weird it was that they were somewhat similar in that way. When he struck his defensive pose, Kelina couldn't help but giggle childishly. The look on his face made him look so silly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. It's good that your village has you to protect those who cannot protect themselves. I too, thought about following a parent's footsteps but found that it's just not for me. I enjoy archery, I just don't have much practice at it. I really should practice some. I always worry that I'll be a burden to what family I have left and my village if I don't find a class soon." She admitted, even telling him one of her greatest fears. That old saying 'Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, our greatest fear is that we are more powerful than we can ever imagine' was just the opposite for Kelina. She feared that she wouldn't be good at anything but always hoped that she'd do something great.

Yaholo nodded. Yes, he found a great deal of use in his hammer and his chosen class. Though he hadn't done anything that heroic, save for saving his sisters before actually earning his class title, he still felt very useful.
"Practice does make perfect, or so they say." He said, chuckling. "Though, if you still aren't sure about what you want to do with your life, don't rush it. If you pick something too quickly, you might find that you hate it within enough time spent doing it." He paused, tapping his chin. "What else have you dabbled in? Is there anything else you really enjoy?"

Kelina nodded as he spoke, he was actually very wise! He seemed to really have a handle on things in his life. The fact that he gave her the advice about the classes made him a little endearing to her. "I get what you mean. I really wouldn't want to end up hating what I choose to do, I think being miserable with your path choice would just make life terrible. The only other things I've really liked have been music and dance." Kel was always hesitant on those two though because she often got nervous in front of other people. She mostly liked going out into the forest by herself.

"My sister, Pahana, wants to be a dancer." Yaholo replied, making a slightly sour face. "She's incredibly clumsy, so I worry for her safety while she does what she loves, actually." He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. Pahana was so much more of a klutz than he was, and that was saying something! He hoped that when she grew more proficient with her rhythm and stepping, he wouldn't need to have his guard up all the time.
"But she's only one aspiring dancer out of many!" He chirped. "What sort of music and dancing have you done? Do you have any particular styles you like?"
